  1. i believe it to be the westin river north as well. it hops in and out each day. with taxes the price would come to 167 and thats a bit more than i'm willing to pay... especially since i found out internet is not complimentary... does anyone know what the actual price is? as well as the price the hotel charges for parking? i must take these fees into consideration.
  2. Perhaps I just got them on a good day, but I received a refund last year for none of the above reasons. I called them out on their shoddy rating system and also informed them that the hotel I ended up with was nowhere near the location they said it was, and it also did not include free wirless internet (at the time they listed it as free, they've changed it since).. I pretty much refused to stay in the hotel because of the nasty area it was in, and the false advertising. I whined about it for an hour on the phone before the girl finally agreed to refund me.
  3. Heres a new one to add to your list. It is not currently listed. 3* Hyatt Place in the Itasca area (a northwest suburb of Chicago) It was a Best Value & Customer Favorite Amenities: Free Breakfast, Pool, Fitness, Business, High Speed Internet Price before taxes & fees: $44 ..after taxes & fees: $55 Since this wasn't listed I did some serious information digging and found that if you locate hotels in a certain area from Hotels.com, you can also select the ammenities listed by the hotwire site, and then it will place all the remaining 'matches' on a detailed map at Hotels.com... You then look at the map provided by hotwire for the specific hotel you're looking for and compare it to the Hotels.com map, and can easily see which hotels are within the boundaries hotwire lists, and which aren't. It turns out the hotwire maps are indeed quite accurate, and with this you can easily determine (if its not listed on this site already) which hotel you will end up getting just by location & ammenities. Or at least thats how it worked out in my case. Perhaps because the area isn't huge like downtown chicago. :) I was hoping it was the hyatt place and am a happy customer. :) Now I am off to finding a decent rate for downtown Chicago for that same weekend! *by the way, it appears as though hotwire has taken away listing the tripadvisor ratings. i was hard pressed to find it at all for the suburb hotels.
  4. an update 7 months later: chose not to use hotwire or priceline for this trip. instead booked directly with conrad. would not recommend paying full price for the hilton conrad chicago hotel if you can help it. the room was booked at upward of 300 a night in august '07... and the room showed serious signs of wear and tear.. staples in the curtains, deep red stains on the carpet, floorboards were completely marred and scuffed... everything else was quite lovely. the bathroom is beautiful. definitely opt through discount sites if you'd like to stay here! NOT worth full price.
  5. unfortunately, i did not choose to pick hotwire for that stay. i booked directly with a hotel, as i got my replies incredibly late. i wasnt aware that you could only help someone if they've already pinned a previous hotel. my apologies.
  6. Chicago Mag Mile Streeterville 4 Star 3/28-3/29 $142 fitness, business, restaurant, internet 4 starts out of 5 on tripadvisor..120+ reviews.. last reviewed in feb (nothing matches with that).. *also customer favorite and best value... Is it the WESTIN RIVER NORTH? OR CONRAD? It has to be one or the other?
  7. i am coming into town for leisure that weekend to see a concert and i am looking for downtown lodging as well .. also 4+ stars.. and the prices are through the roof!!! i am seeing upward of 400/night for things that a few weeks ago were 100... what is going on in the city that weekend?! im wondering if i'd be better off staying in one of the suburbs!
  8. this is somewhat urgent! i only have one day to book the hotel! :)
  9. Will be in chicago for leisure August 7th-8th or 9th.
