  1. Amenities: Free Parking, Resort, Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Pool(s $184.00 per room, per night 6/26 - 6/28
  2. Airport Shuttle Complimentary Breakfast Fitness Center Business Center Laundry Facilities High-speed Internet Access
  3. 7/15-7/18 Mag Mile 3 star Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-speed Internet Access Hilton Garden Inn - $85 per night
  4. Changed our mind and decided to go downtown. Booked Hilton Garden Inn DT North $85 night via HOTWIRE via this website. :-)
  5. I read the reviews on this hotel. It seems like its a fit for my needs... I may pull the trigger. Is there some sort of public transportation pass that I can purchase? I found the CTA pass but does that cover all means of public trans including Metra?
  6. Nevermind, I think it's the Holiday Inn Elmhurst... ratings aren't so good on travel advisor.
  7. I need help identifying a 3 star hotel at the ORD airport for $42 per night with these amenities: Fitness, Restaurants, Business Center, Laundry, High Speed Internet, Golf Nearby, Childrens Activities Are the hotels near the airport suitable or are the suburbs a better choice?
  8. Is it possible to make those arrangements after paying the rate for 2 adults?
  9. $5 one way for 3 adults is $15 one way or $30 both ways per day. If I need to pay another $12 to park at the Metra station then this adds about $42 on top of the hotel per day. If I can get the $39 per night hotel, I think it's worth it. I don't mind loosing the 2 hours per day to commute. We can start our day early... and eat a meal at Ikea to save on money too. This is starting to look like a plan. :) However if the hotel plus added commuting expenses approach the rate of the downtown hotels, then I would consider finding a hotel downtown. I checked Hotwire and I see the Arlington Heights area hotel for $54 per night...not $39 per night. Did you input 3 adults 1 child? :)
  10. Thanks for the code. Judging from what I read about the whitehall, I highly doubt I use that hotel at this point. I don't mind the commute if the public transportation is good and reliable? Is there a sub station near the Sheraton Suites? Do you know how long the commute will be? How much is parking at the Sheraton?
  11. My family is making a road trip to Chicago within the next couple of weeks and I'm trying to decide whether it's a good idea to get a hotel near the airport or find one downtown. I certainly would prefer to avoid paying expensive parking, but since I have a 2 year old with us, I would need to lug a stroller around on the buses and trains. We're touring some spots downtown, need to go to the O'hare airport and will likely goto legoland. For the most part we will hit the common tour spots like the sears towers and etc... any other family friendly recommendations? I have another thread so I hope it's okay to start this one. So far I booked a room downtown (2 queens) for $119 a night at the Whitehall but I am leaning towards canceling it without penalty if it would make better sense to stay near the airport or another suburban area. Any advice?
  12. Fitness, Pool, Restaurants, No Smoke, Business center
  13. I just booked a "placeholder" room for $119 per night for two queen beds at The Whitehall Hotel until I find a better deal. They had a 24 hour sale and this one is fully refundable. Is this hotel any good?
  14. The problem with those are they are non-refundable. I would like the option of canceling if I find a better deal.
  15. Thanks... I think those are reasonable. Do you advise waiting until closer to my travel date? I noticed travelzoo seems to have some fairly good bargains but usually they are close to the travel date.
  16. That's weird. It's not showing for 3 adults and 1 child anymore but I am sure that was the criteria I searched for... back to the drawing board. :) A roll away bed, full size bed and a sofa would adequate. One full size bed and a roll away bed wouldn't be enough for 3 adults and a child however.
  17. Do you think this price for the double tree is worth pulling the trigger on?
  18. Wyndham Chicago has $49 24hr parking. Is that $49 per day for parking?! :)
  19. I believe it's either these two hotels according from the hotel list: 3.5* Four Points Amenities: Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Laundry 3.5* Wyndham Chicago (previously 4*) Customer Favorite Amenities: Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business (same as Doubletree) (may also be only Fitness, Business)
  20. The most appealing is a 3.5 star in the Magnificent Mile area - streeterville? For $84 per night - Jul 15 - 18 Here are the amenities: Fitness, Pool, Restaurant, Business Center, Laundry, High speed internet
  21. Here's what Hotwire found for Jul 15 - 18 $209 4.5-star hotel in Magnificent Mile Area - Streeterville $139 3-star hotel in Magnificent Mile Area - Streeterville $182 3.5-star hotel in Magnificent Mile Area - Streeterville $131 3-star hotel in Museum Campus - McCormick Place - Soldier Field $243 3-star hotel in Chicago Loop $141 3-star hotel in Oak Lawn - Midway Airport MDW $162 3-star hotel in West Loop - Medical District - UIC Now is it just me or do these prices seem quite high?
  22. My plans have gotten more firm than they were when i first posted. we are going mid-July. I will post Hotwires findings shortly.
