  1. Used Priceline for a one night stay- Aug 19, 2010. Paid $52 plus taxes and fees ($64 total) Room- This is a 3 star place. The Holiday Inn and Suites was clean and appeared to be recently refurbished. We checked in with no mention of Priceline and had requested and received 2 Q (traveling with 3 people) and a room on the opposite side of I-70 (or the I-70 if you are from California). Trip Advisor notes had mentioned that the freeway side is quite noisy. Our room had Bath and Body Work amenities, free wi fi, newspaper, coffee maker, flat screen TV and 2 types of pillows on each bed. Furnishings were very nice. Parking is also free. Location- Location is right on the I-70, with a multitude of shops, restaurants, gas stations nearby. As previously mentioned it is right on the I-70 along with La Quinta and can be noisy. Service- Our experience was just great. Checkin counter was personable, friendly, and efficient. Morning manager was out and about asking if things were good. Coffee/Tea in the lobby. Dining- We ate in the hotel restaurant and enjoyed our meal. Dinner prices were reasonable and food was good. The dining room manager came by to see how things were and if there was anything he could do. We did have lots of attention. Not many people were in the restaurant. Pool/Jacuzzi/Workout Room- the pool area is nice. It's all indoors. The tiling on the floor is very attractive. The pool area was busy with families traveling but not overly so. The jacuzzi was clean, hot, no smells. The work out room had 3-4 pieces of cardio equipment with TV's. I didn't go in so don't know what else was in the room. Cons- No mini fridge or continental breakfast as the other 3 stars in the area did provide a breakfast. Other than that the hotel was terrific.
  2. I am most terribly sorry, but I thought I had gone through the link up at the top. I must have hit an email reply from Priceline (after a few rejections you get those) I must not have been thinking this morning. I will certainly do right next time.
  3. On line prepay price for this hotel is exactly 1/2 of what we paid. $104 before taxes. We received our room for $52 plus taxes and fees. Reviews are generally above average on trip advisor. Noise from interstate seems to be the main concern. We travel with earplugs so hopefully we'll be fine. Will write a review after we return. No complaints, beats a Super 8 any day.

  5. We stayed at the Marriott Long Wharf 7-8/7-10 2009 via Priceline. How lucky we were. If you are a tourist in the summer this Marriott is fantastic. The location is on the water, next to the Blue Line T (airport too), the Ferry T's, the Aquarium, across the street from Quincy Market, a short walk to the North End, and a short walk to various wharfs where the Tall Ships were berthed while we were in town. We read mostly positive reviews and a few negative in Trip Advisor and other sites. The negative one mentioned rooms with views that meeting guests could see into your room and no views outside. Thinking as Priceline guests that might be our room we went in with unsure of expectations. Not so. We received a room on the 3rd floor on the N. side with park and water views. It was quiet and lovely. The S side might have rooms with the parking structure so I would hope for a N side room. The hotel was full due to the tall ships in town so we considered ourselves very lucky. There was no mention of us being "Priceline" at check in. Which was quick and efficient. The room was clean, felt large, and updated. Very nice. It has a in room safe (handy for our laptop) tea and coffee maker, big screen flat tv, ottoman chair, working desk and a small desk, Bath and Body Works amenities, newspaper in the am, fruit/cookies at the front desk for a few hours. Wifi-business still costs extra but our Mac picked up signals from somewhere and we were able to check email and google things we needed at no cost. Since we flew into Boston and used public transportation (Link Pass for a week cost $15) parking was not an issue. Parking downtown in most big cities cost money so factor that in. Yes the lobby was nothing to speak about but I don't spend time in the lobby anyway. The Marriott's bottom level is a through way from one side of the wharf to the other. They provide public bathrooms for the tourists who are spending money in the fine city of Boston. I was impressed with the Marriott's "welcome all" feeling. The workout rooms were great for a hotel. Pool, sauna, and jacuzzi were all clean and correct temperatures. Views from the pool decks were delightful. Just a few people drinking their coffee or waters were out on a sunny morning so it was rather like having a patio or lanai at home. The Tall Ships were in town while we were staying in Boston, so needless to say the weekend was crowded with people. The help at the Marriott didn't seemed fazed. There are jogging maps which are helpful as they can get you over the footbridge to the Charles River bike/running path. Without it you could be one the wrong side of the street. For us it was a remarkable stroke of luck we received the Marriott Long Wharf. Hard to see the difference between it's 3.5 star and a 4 other than the lobby, but given it's location and foot traffic it's understandable. Recommend!
  6. While many of you out there are saying to yourself "hey this is not all that great of a deal, it's not a 4 star" I did spend 5 days trying to get a 4 star under $120 and had no success mainly because our dates are mid week, without a weekend day attached. Then decided after that to go for a 3.5 instead and limit it to under $100. This took 2 days, as we did start lower and had no success. So this worked out terrific for us. Tourist and the tall ships, what a combo. We did get a chuckle as the Marriott.com rate for the hotel as of yesterday was $399. Now we will cancel our other reservation.
  7. Boston Long Wharf July 8-10 $95 for 2 nights. Taxes and fees of $33.58 making the total $223.58 Started with 3.5 stars and $80 for Copley-Theatre Went to 90 and added Quincy Went to $95 and added Waterfront. AAA rate at the Renaissance was $144 and didn't even look at the Long Wharf as the rack rates were way beyond my salary allowance. So this is a treat. Went through Better bidding PRICELINE links. Thanks everyone.
