  1. Just a heads up for anyone. Won't be staying as I was looking for the Hyatt for FFN. Was on an 8 for 8 streak until today.
  2. Although disappointed at currently not being able to target SFO Hyatt with Priceline, I needed another Hyatt stay so I sucked it up and bid in the USE region for either the Hyatt Embarcadero or Grand Hyatt. On the third attempt I got the Hyatt Embarcadero (so no 2000GP bonus) at $68. Bid 1 - $60 for USE Bid 2 - $65 for USE & Civic Center Bid 3 - $68 for USE & Cathedral Hill Total with PL fee and taxes $83.08 Not the greatest, but it'll do for the time being.
  3. Yeah still hanging in for a few more stays although I may have to pony up for the a few Grand Hyatt stays now that the G2 bonus is no longer. I figure the Grand costs about $33-35 more per stay, plus they lack the appetizer cert that usually buys my Swiftwater Deli lunch at check-in. So it really now turns into a trade-off between convienence (Grand) versus cost (SFO). This is the first time that I can remember in a while where the SFO Hyatt hasn't had a GP bonus of some sort. While the value proposition at the SFO Hyatt is now slightly less attractive, but still hard to beat. We sure were living high on the hog during June. :)
  4. Theselb, I too am now on a first name basis with the day manager, although I have yet to have an upgraded suite / french wine experience. I must say though that I would almost rather be anonymous as I get a little embarassed when signing the entry card that has the priceline rate printed on it (not always thank god), while at the same time they are handing me breakfast & snack coupons and diamond amenity card. :) It took me a while (I'm not that bright) to figure out that instead of using the breakfast and snack coupons at Knuckles or the Swiftwater Cafe, they will give you $10, per certificate, credit at the to-go coffee/sandwich stand (Swiftwater Deli) just outside of the Cafe. Got my eighth stay since the beginning of June tonight so I'll keep my fingers crossed for a little special treatment. I do agree that although somewhat inconvienent to us north bay types, the Hyatt SFO presents a pretty attractive package for an airport hotel.
  5. While I have yet to be Doubletreed, I have been both Mariotted and Sheratoned (although not during this most recent special Hyatt period). I do have a feeling of doom that my June/July 8 for 8 SFO Hyatt streak may not continue forever. Crossing my fingers as I am only about halfway home so far, still need 8 more stays.
  6. I saw earlier posts of these dates being attained for $35, but tried to no avail. Also tried $36, no luck. Hit both at $37. It appears that there may have very recently been an upward shift in price here. I will continue to post what happens on future attempts at this property.
  7. You are right, the Civic Center zone does not have anything above 2.5* and would thus effectively bid a completely risk free rebid. I am pretty familiar with the SF bidding area, so I knew that no Embarcadero/Union Square East 3* property would come up in the range of my bids. Thanks for the advice.
  8. I first tried at $32 to no avail. Hit on $33 at SFO Hyatt after adding Embarcadero zone. My hope on getting the SFO Hyatt rested on it being cheapest available 4* on Hotwire at $50 (the highest 3.5* was $61), and Hyatt showing availability at $99 on its website.
  9. Bid $34 on first attempt and received the SFO Hyatt.
