  1. I'm in the process of moving so I have had to stay at hotels quite a bit in the area in the last month. I was bidding changing my options everywhere from 2.5* and up and from Palo Alto - South San Francisco. I was trying to stay under $60 but was getting no where, and I was trying changing dates as well. No luck. Finally I upped it to $65 and got the Marriott Residence Inn, in Brisbane/South San Francisco. It is awesome. I am there now and let me tell you it is worth every penny. The only downside is that it is a bit difficult to get to, the elevator is slower than molasses and there is not much in the way of restaurants within walking distance. Now let me tell you the good parts. The beds are way comfy. There is a shuttle to and from the airport with high frequency. It is quiet. I got a bayview window room. The bedroom really is separate with a door and everything. The kitchen is fully stocked with equipment (except a stove). It is immaculately cleaned. :) The shampoo is actually nice! The couch is stylish and comfy. The internet and parking are free. They have computers in the lobby with free internet. The housekeeping comes multiple times a day (I've been here since 8 this morning and they've been trying to clean it since then and don't understand when I say it doesn't need anything, but the fact that they are trying is really nice.) They make free trips to the grocery store for you if you provide a list by 9am. :) There is a tv in the living room as well as the bedroom. The climate control is digital. The breakfast buffet is free and has lots of options. They have social hours in the evenings with free food (tomorrow night is BBQ!) They do the dishes!!! :o I can't really think of anything else, but man I have stayed at some dumps this past month and had I known that I could have gotten this for just $5 more on my bids....I would have been all over it.

  3. Yep, sorry about that. The dates were July 7 - 12. I just posted a hotel review for this atrocious monstrosity of a hotel.
  4. We received a smoking room, which was fine. Initially the room looked nice, but upon a few steps in I realized there was blood on the blankets and pillows. I threw them on the floor. Then I walked to the bathroom where there was spackling on the back of the door, and a huge splattering from waist high to the top of the mirror behind the bathroom door that also had blood and a mysterious white substance. The toilet paper dispenser was out, so I put the new roll on. Then I looked to the floor where there was trash. We stepped out of the room to grab dinner and I asked the front desk to have someone change the bedding because of the stains. They replaced the blanket only, not the pillows. The 'new' comforter had rips in it and was obviously quite old, with it's own stains and grossness. I accidentally dropped my keys behind the nightstand and when I pulled it out I found a LOT of trash, sunflower seed shells, bottle caps etc. We turned on the tv and couldn't even see the letters on the ads because the quality was so blurry. I have never, ever, EVER stayed in a hotel room that was so run down. The only benefits this place had for it was: free parking, mini fridge, and free wifi.
  5. Howard Johnson Express San Mateo 2110 South El Camino Real Hwy 92 & El Camino Real San Mateo, CA 94403 US I believe it is a 2 star and I got it for $57 a night. I had bid it for $50 and it offered a rebid and told me to up it $14. I changed the options and rebid at $57 and got it.
  6. This place really isn't much to look at but the staff are really nice and it is comfortable. I would much prefer this hotel than the 3star Holiday Inn. Definitely a bargain basement place but let the breakfast buffet comfort the hard lines.
  7. This place is awful. I have stayed in a LOT of hotels from Priceline and all of them in this area. This is by far the worst. The front desk staff forced us into a smoking room and even though their website says they had refridgerators in all rooms, when I asked the front desk clerk to be sure we had one...he said he couldn't tell. That was a lie. So then we get to the room and it was so noisy it wasn't even funny. It was by far the worst hotel room I have stayed in ever. If you are going to pick this star rating and area for hotels on Priceline my recommendation is to make sure to get the $5 cancellation option because you do NOT want to sleep (yeah like anyone can sleep with the amount of noise) in this hotel.
