  1. Bid $55, $65 & then $70 was accepted. This is the first time going for a 3 star downtown. Hope we like it. Any suggestion on off the wall things to do. We do an overnighter about once a year downtown and are running out of things to do. Last year did the bicycle tour that was pretty good. Also went to Buddy Guys..pretty run down but we liked it. We will probably take the subway up to Wriggly just to hang our for the Cubs/Brewers game. I'll need to park for those two nights. Any suggestions for that? Well I see I missed the dates. The same deal someone else got 7/2 - 7/4
  2. Marriott San Antonio Downtown Riverwalk 889 East Market Street April 23 & 24th Two rooms Two nights $280.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $57.82 (USD) Total Room Cost: $337.82 (USD) I guess the savings for the two nights considering "taxes and fee's" would be more than $419.00 Not too shabby!
  3. Started bid at $50 Added rebid zones and was accepted at $70 Hotels direct online rate is $199 OH and used the BB PRICELINE link
  4. The rooms I mentioned earlier just went away. Kind of surprised me. I had eyed a hotel that I was hoping would come down in price on the last day but had to jump on it and I think I got the last room. I went back to reserve again for that same day - just to see - and no rooms available. $209 for the Dana Hotel & Spa booked from their website. Sounds like an interesting place located on Erie and State. Yeah the most I ever spent for a room in Chicago but I've gotten some pretty good deals in the past and don't mind splurging this time. Next year or maybe Xmas time we'll look to do it cheaper. The links are the ones at the top of the page correct? Used them a lot while checking out the availability but I suppose you don't get credit unless someone actually books. Thanks
  5. Just bid up from $89 to $120 with no luck. Try again tomorrow. I see the Red Roof Inn @ $129, The Tremont @199(Expedia). Below my star rating but rooms are available. There's some other hotels that have me interested for around $225 Springhill Suites by Marriott Chicago Avenue Hotel Chicago Me and my wife go downtown about once a year for an overnighter. So hoping to stay some place different as were running out of things to do. Thinking about the Bobby Bike Tours this time around.
  6. Spent one night here and two nights@ Convention Center-Capitol Hill Hyatt Regency Capitol Hill. In my opinion the star ratings are backwards. This Marriott Wardman Park hotel was great, should be a 4* and the Hyatt s/b the 3*.
  7. Bid on Downtown, Dupont Circle, & Convention Center-Capitol Hill. Single bid took it, should have started lower but.... Looks like their website quotes a price of $329, guess I shouldn't be too greedy. Please move this to the Priceline thread
  8. Comming in from Washington DC. When leaving going up the coast of Maine.
  9. I see HOTWIRE with a 3-star hotel in Bethesda/Silver Spring for $84. Looks to be the Crowne Plaza Hotel. I should probably scoop on that or should I try bidding on Priceline for a three star?
  10. Tried bidding from 9/12 - 9/14 and was accepted for the Hyatt Regency Washington D.C. On Capitol Hill @$85 Still need to do something for Sept 11th
  11. HOTWIRE is showing some pretty hefty prices for these dates. Looks like I may have to considers something further out.
  12. The HOTWIRE site was showing me availability for my dates 9/14 - 9/17 for $199 MTE. I bid Priceline just MTE and MTW and was accepted at the Millennium Broadway Hotel. Bid of $185 was rejected but was prompted to increase my offer by $25. Rebid at $190 and was accepted. I used the SavingsBarn PRICELINE links. Any thoughts on parking for those three nights? Thanks for the help!
  13. Did the full routine with no win. I see the Hotwire room @$189 but I actually am staying an extra day. So I am looking at $189 for the two nights then it goes up to $212 for the Sunday night, assuming this is the same hotel I could do that(chance booking Fri, Sat & then book seperately the Sun Night.). I think the three night request came up to $209 per night. Hopefully that HOTWIRE one stays there for a day or two as tomorrow I will try again with Priceline in the 160 -200 range
  14. I did not see an edit function so after looking at the zone descriptions I will update my zones here. Midtown East Midtown West Midtown South Upper Midtown / Central Park South
  15. Ok, lets stay with a 4* and bid up to $200 but hoping for 170ish Not ever having been to NY I'm not real sure on the zones but it sounds like I would NOT want the downtown. So I guess the zones I would want are Midtown East Midtown South Midtown West Upper Midtown Central Park South Would these last two zones be less desirable? Upper East Side Upper West Side
  16. I think Im ready to start the bidding, Never been to NY but we do enjoy going to Chicago since that is only a 4 hour drive. This vacation is a 2 week driving tour (with convertible) :~) I may be here bidding on DC also but need to get started on the NY stay. Obviously I would like the best deal on a 4* but would consider a 3*. My target price would be $150 and up to $200. I was about to start bidding using a recommendation from one of the other threads but was not sure why you would suggest starting with MTE on one and someone else's I believe you started with MTW? Anyway can you load up a bidding suggestion for me and my wife? - Thanks
  17. Got it Two rooms at the Intercontinental @ $86.00 July 29 - July30th Thanks Any recommendations on parking?
  18. Think I would get the $22 rebid option if I bid $65?? I was assuming a room is awarded if you rebid at pricelines prompted $22 increase. Was hoping to get a room at 80 - 90...$100 tops. I am a litttle leary about the rebid with the added zone, I do see if I add Midway Airport they have no 4* but would hate to end up out there. We are using the SavingsBarn link.
  19. Just tried $75 and $81 for a four star on Michigan. Going with our neighbor and I place a bid and then they place a bid. At both those prices there was an option to rebid for an additional $22. Think I would get the $22 rebid option if I bid $65?? HOTWIRE has a room for $135 I wood think I could find something in the $80 price range on priceline.
  20. Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center High-speed Internet Access
  21. Im hoping to get the Hyatt and am new to the Hotwire site. Hotwire is listing the Hyatt as a 4* but the consensis here is that its a 3.5 Well I pulled the trigger on the 3.5* and got the Hilton, which has a pool and was not listed as having a pool by Hotwire amentities. $63.00 7/2/2007
  22. Thanks for the tips. I will watch the bill. Any info on the parking in that area? I've stayed in downtown Chicago a few times and seem to end up a lot at the Hyatt Regency because of (a good) price. Was glad to get a good price at a different location.
  23. first bid $70 NMA River North second bid $81 NMA River North I thought I would be getting the Intercontinental as that what the recent winning bids were getting. The Wyndham will be fine.
