  1. Head down to Water street. Just walk down Wisconsin Ave and take a left on Water after you cross the bridge.
  2. Got the Madison for $115. 9/26 & 9/27. Used the PRICELINE link. Thanks
  3. Would bidding a hotel in downtown be too risky being that I want to be within walking distance to Beale Street?
  4. That would of been perfect but I was already on the road, ended up driving back 3.5 hrs and that was after the game had a 1.5 hr rain delay. Long day. Thanks Guys... as always I use the the links (a lot) here on betterbidding.com.
  5. I 'll run through some bids at the last minute but as of now we will take the train in from Skokie just for the game. HOTWIRE has a 2* Streeterville for $112, just shows internet... any idea?
  6. Tried $160 and was prompted to bid $200. Too much. This was 3* including MP and NMR
  7. I see what you mean, I just ran a 3* up to $145 on still a no go. Whats going on in the city? There's a 3* on HOTWIRE for 165, NMA water tower - gold coast. The reviews are good location nice outside but a little worn on the inside. Seems a bit much. Got tickets for the Brewers/Cubs was hoping to stay downtown but may have to rethink this.
  8. This what I'm thinking. Start at $95 for the 3.5*, I can run that up to $115, add the 4* and three more bids up to $130 Or should I start my bidding on the 3*?
  9. I ran it up $75 to $115 looking at just River North - no Millinium area selected. I'll try tomorrow with the 3.5*
  10. Not my favorite hotel but hey 54 bucks! Two Rooms Started at $50, $52 then hooked them at $54. Of course I used the link on this site for PRICELINE. Aaron, Is parking at Millennium Park an option or is that too far? Meeting up with my nephew looking to save some money on parking (two vehicles). Any suggestions for food and nightlife would be appreciated.... Thanks Gotta love the deals the betterbidding site helps me get. I remember years back getting rooms downtown Chicago for around 100 bucks and thinking that was a great deal.
  11. I ended up doing this. 4* Los Angeles (Downtown) Westin Bonaventure $80 ... 12/17/10-12/18/10 Please update the thread title Thanks I'll add a thread for the 12/21 room when I get that one, probably something near the airport.
  12. Just need this Friday12/17 Did try up to $110 on a 4 star and will need something on Tuesday probably near the airport. We will be on our own that day flying out Wednesday any suggestions on what to do that day. I know Im straying from the real purpose of this forum but thought Id still ask. As always I use the links..... a lot :) <edit> I see some recent wins at the airport, I may just do that for the two days I need.
  13. I may be asking a bit much but I am currently on vacation with limited internet. Need a room in Hollywood area 5. Can someone tell me what the most likely wins are in that area with a possible price range (I know that can vary widely) Probably 3.5 to 4 star range.
  14. Got the Hotel Oceana for Sunday night on my first try this morning. Had to go to $81 the day before to get a room for Saturday.
  15. Was hoping for the Oceana with the option to add another night but got the Hotel Mar Monte so I did not take the additional night that was offered. The next day I bid again and got the Oceana ($63)for the following Sunday night. I have some relatives staying those same two nights at the Oceana, I'll have to see if the savings is worth having to switch hotels. Yes, I always use the PRICELINE link!
  16. There is no 100% guarantee you will get the Hyatt but you should be pretty confident on getting the Waikiki beach area. As I posted earlier there are four other zones that do not have a 5 star or Resort. Click through the check boxes to see which ones they are and add one at a time to get your rebids.
  17. Also I see four area's that do not have a 5 star or Resort that could be used for a rebid
  18. I think what is happening to kdaphne is he/she selects the Resort check box but after the first bid both the Resort and 5 Star boxes are now checked. This is being perceived as a downgrade. I believe when I booked I had the same scenario but did not look at it as a downgrade. I ended up with the Hyatt Regency Spa Resort.
  19. I assume there is no way to guarantee an airport room that does stay park & fly?
  20. Bid $120, was offered a free rebid at $150 Added another area and was accepted at $130 12/11/10-12/17/10
  21. The location of the four stars are not as good as the 3.5 stars... in my opinion. The 3.5 will typically get you the Hilton at a good price. Sometimes you will end up with the Hyatt (recently remodeled) or the Intercontinental. I like the Intercontinental but they tend to stick you in a small corner room. I also prefer the Hyatt. Good luck. I see your other post now where you got the Hyatt. Good deal, Enjoy!
  22. Nice room for the price. And of course I use the PRICELINE links from betterbidding.
  23. First bid, I started high but was in the area bidding on the night before I needed a room.
  24. Tried $35 for downtown and they came back with a nine more dollars offer. Retried adding another zone and got the $39 rate. Of course I use the PRICELINE links at betterbidding.com
