  1. I finally went ahead with the 4.5* on Hot.wire. I tried bidding on PL for a 4.5 & 4* up to $175 with no success. Got the NY Palace which looks like a very nice hotel!Very happy to be going back to NYC and staying at this hotel this time. I used your HOTWIRE links to make the purchase.
  2. I think this is what I will do. Can anyone help ID the following 4.5*? Midtown East - $175 (USD) 90% recommend Internet access, fitness center, business center, restaurant, spa, self-service laundry, accessible for the blind/deaf, accessible path of travel.
  3. It was $150/night when I searched a few minutes ago but it's now gone... Weird! But then I see a 4* 1/2 that is $175 (also Midtown East)... Hmmm.. not sure if I should book now :/ My guess would be the Plaza but with a $70 valet parking I'm not tempted to book. It certainly adds to the nightly cost!
  4. Hi, I'm planning a trip to NYC August 15th to 17th. I currently see a 4* in Midtown East for $167 (CDN). First of all, is that a good deal for this time of the year? It sounds good but I wanted some input... Should I wait? Second, I see the following amenities: -Boutique hotel, restaurant, internet access, deaf accessible, in room accessibility, roll in shower, fitness center, business center, accessible for the blind, accessible bathroom, accessible path of travel. 85% recommend. It seems like it would be the W (boutique hotel) but I'm not 100% sure... Any help ID this hotel? Thank you!
  5. Just booked the Westin Harbour using one of your search links. Amenities Pet friendly, indoor pool(s), smoke-free rooms, fitness center, pool(s), restaurants, business center, self-service laundry, internet access. 95% recommend. Very happy about this win, I've always enjoyed staying at Westin properties in the past.
  6. I would like to go to NYC again this fall, either end of october or in november (preferred). Are the rates super high at this time of the year? I was browsing on Price.line & Hot.wire and find the prices to be quite high. Last year, I paid $200 for a 4 star hotel (Renaissance) for the end of september. Would like to spend a little less and we're ok with getting a 3* if that means a better price. Any idea if october or november is usually cheaper? Thanks!
  7. Hi! I recently won an hotel on Priceline for Sept. 27th to Sept. 30th. I never traveled to NYC during those dates and I realized that the prices are a little higher. After bidding for a few days, I won the Renaissance 57 hotel (4*) in Central Park South for about $215 a night which really came up to $800 with taxes and fees for all three nights. I didn't want to go lower in star ratings because I didn't want to get the Hudson hotel since it has smaller rooms. I also really want a 4* since I'm visiting NYC for my bday :) Good luck with your bidding! :)
  8. I've been bidding for a few days without success. I saw a 2.5* in the Express Deals at $56. I tried $48 and won the Cresthill Hotel. It's only for a stop on our way to NYC. I used your PRICELINE link and I am happy about this win :)
  9. Thanks for the tip!! Will do! Who knows, we might be lucky and get an upgrade for free :) And I'll definitely check out the rooftop bar... Wow, september seems so far away but I'm overly excited.
  10. Well... ended up changing my dates and finally won the Renaissance Hotel for this expensive time of the year. Bidded $205, $210 and was then $215 was accepted. I included 4* in MTE, CPS, TS & MSG. I'm pretty happy about my win, I understand it's not the best hotel but the location looks great and I'm not really picky about hotels anyways, as long as it isn't TOO noisy. It's not my first time visiting NYC, but it's my first staying in Manhattan so I'm excited! :)
  11. Hi! I'm trying to book an hotel for Sept. 26th to the 29th. Anyways, I'm hoping to stay in MTW, ESB, TS or the MSG area. I don't mind staying in CPS either, but it wouldn't be my first choice. I guess I wouldn't mind staying elsewhere, but probably not downtown. In the Express Deal on PL, there's a 4* for CPS for $228. Am I right to think I could get it cheaper if bidding? I'm bidded for 4* up to $215 for all those areas but no winning bid so far... I understand september is a little expensive. I'm ok staying in a 3.5* or even a 3* if it's still an 'okay' hotel. I'm not picky, but I hate paper thin walls though ;) I'm thinking of booking the 4* in CPS for $228, but of course I'd like to get it for a cheaper rate by bidding... I believe it is the Renaissance 57 which seems ok (and shows up at around $400/night on other websites for those dates). I'm not seeing anything interesting on Hotwire. Is it too early to bid? Or are those dates too expensive and I should just book the 4* in CPS? Thanks for your input...
  12. Hi! Just wanted to 'close' this topic as I will be making a new one for september... Going to NYC in sept instead of november... Much more expensive but these are the only dates I can travel! Hopefully I can still get a good deal.
  13. Desired budget per night would be around $175-$200 (with taxes & fees)... Is that too low? As for zones, I am not too picky, and I'm not too familiar with them either. As long as we can walk, I guess we're good! Downtown wouldn't be my first choice :) Midtown East/Central, ESB or TS would probably be my fav areas to stay in. While looking at the results I get, I find the the 2nd weekend of November seems to be cheaper in comparison to the one before... So I guess our dates would be Nov. 9th to the 12th (or the 8th to the 11th). Thanks so much :)
  14. Hi! I originally made a post about wanting to go to NYC in october, but plans are changing and I will be in NYC in november. Probably from either friday to monday, or saturday to tuesday. I can go any of the first 3 weekends of November. Prices seem to be lower from the 16 to the 19th, though. I've already clicked your HOTWIRE and PRICELINE links to do some searching (although PL is blocked at work when I access it from the search box above; but not Hotwire), and prices seem a little high... I can get the Roosevelt for about $210 on Expedia, so I'm looking to get something a little better for the same price... I don't mind paying a little more but would like to keep it under $225/night (taxes & all). I'm a little overwhelmed, I'm used to staying in Jersey City but would like to be in Manhattan this time, since we're flying into JFK. There is a 3* 1/2 hotel in Times Square for $193/night right now: Boutique Hotel, Restaurant(s), High-Speed Internet Access, Wheelchair accessible. Recommended in 85% of the reviews. Any idea what it could be? Also, when should I start bidding? I'm wondering if it's better to wait a little, or start bidding now? Thanks!
  15. So I want to celebrate my 30th bday in NYC... I'm thinking of staying from Oct. 5th to Oct. 8th (from sunday to tuesday). Prices are super high, even in Priceline & Hotwire. I usually stay in NJ since I drive from Montreal, but this time I'll be flying and want to stay in Manhattan. I don't mind staying in any area really, but I'd like a 3* or more. Would like top pay $150/night. What do you all think, is that possible? October seems to be a busy time in NYC! :)
  16. Wow, great win! I'm also looking for a hotel for the festival, thanks for posting this!
  17. My boyfriend just booked the Cambridge Suites on Hotwire for our short trip to Toronto. I wanted to post our win because on your list it says the Cambridge is a 3.5* but it is now listed as a 4*. Very happy about our win, it looks like a great hotel (apparently recommended in 95% of the reviews).
  18. I think $110 is a good price. The lowest I've paid for a 4* in Jersey City was $80/night last may and it was the Westin. I've paid $101 for the Westin, on PRICELINE, for the first weekend of may.
  19. -Smoke free rooms, -high speed internet access, -Pool(s), -Complimentary breakfast.
  20. I was looking for a cheap hotel to stay on our way to NYC. I wasn't getting anything on PRICELINE so I booked the Saratoga Downtowner via HOTWIRE instead. I was hoping for the Western Park Inn Plus but the reviews are good for the Saratoga Downtowner so I don't mind really since it was so cheap. I used your HOTWIRE link to make my purchase.
  21. Congrats on you win! Not sure if it's your first time at this hotel or not, but I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy your stay :)
  22. Bidded 81$: Rejected Added re-bidding zone, bidded $91: rejected Added re-bidding zone, bidded $101: Accepted! Got the Westin Jersey City once again! Very happy about this winning bid.
  23. Last year, I got the Westin Jersey City (which is my favorite hotel when staying in Jersey City) for $81 in May. I just bidded (and used BB.com PRICELINE link :D) but my bid was rejected. Maybe it's because my trip is still too far from now? I need an hotel from Thursday may 3rd to sunday may 6th. I can get a 4* hotel for $127/night on Hotwire (plus fees, which makes it around $150) so that's what I will do if I cannot get it for lower on Priceline. Hopefully it will be the Westin. The price is lower on hotwire since the check-in is on thursday and not friday... I'll report back once I get a winning bid!
  24. We needed a place to stay on our way to NYC on a thurday night, it is listed as a 1* on the board, but now it's 2* 1/2 on Priceline. Paid $50, which looks like a great deal after reading TA reports where people paid $100-$150/night.
