Yes, it's for a post-cruise stay. I'm having a lot of difficulty deciding on a hotel, as there are so many negative reviews on Tripadvisor for every 4 star hotel in San Juan. The only one that escapes significant criticism is El Convento, but it does not have a beach. We want something very nice to cap off our vacation, but even The Ritz Carlton's getting savaged. Don't know what the problem is with PR hotels...

March 20 one night: $299 (Rio Grande/Humacao) 4.5 Star: Resort, Beach Nearby, Fitness Centre, Pool, Restaurant, Business Centre, High Speed Internet, Golf Nearby. This site identifies it as the Paradisus, but it no longer exists. Apparently it's a Melia now? But there is a Melia also listed as just a 4 star. Help!

:) I guess Thursdays are cheaper than Tuesdays... I booked this hotel for the night before our flight and the night of our return. We got it for $90 on Tuesday the 4th of August and for $75 for Thursday the 27th of August. Basically we got two nights for the price of one compared to the Westin website rates. Woo hoooooo...

:) I got this hotel once for $60 through Priceline, but $90 is still a lot better than the $189 on the Westin website!

:) Okay, I keep reading on these boards and elsewhere about people getting great deals for rentals from MCO at $11, $12, $13 etc. The best rate I can get through the regular channels is $34.10 per day. I've tried bidding on Priceline starting with economy at $12 and going up to $20 by adding other car types but have had no luck whatsoever. Is that an especially busy week or something? Any advice? Should I wait until the last minute?

Tried bidding $35 for a 3.5 star (hoping for Rosen Plaza), but that bid was rejected. Added 3-star and reduced price to $30 (hoped for Hyatt Place Universal) and got it!

Does Hotwire give a reason for the downgrade? I was considering booking this resort because it's brand new and such a great deal, but there's a big difference between a 5-star rating and a 3.5 star rating. How could it be downgraded when it hasn't even opened yet?

This wouldn't have been my first choice, but the location and facilities look good. Rooms seem dated judging from photos and Tripadvisor reviews.

Was hoping for something in Dearborn, but am satisfied with this hotel for the price. Westin website rate for that night is $109.

Tried a bid of $125 for a 5* in Venice for March 8, 1 night. Was countered with $147, accepted it, and got one night at the Hilton Molino Stucky. Hilton's website rate was $266, so a great deal! There was also the option of extending that rate for subsequent nights, but we are already booked somewhere else for the rest of our week in Venice.

Looking for accomodations as close to Birch Run Outlets as possible for one night, Thursday, November 22. 2* Saginaw/Birch Run; $66; Amenities- Shuttle 2.5* Saginaw/Birch Run: $122; Amenities-breakfast, fitness, pool, business, laundry, internet, golf nearby 1* Saginaw/Birch Run: $59; Amenities- none The only identified hotel for the area I could find is the Four Points Sheraton in Saginaw. Just booked through Hotwire. It was the Westin, as I'd hoped. Great deal at $102, since Westin's own site was quoting $229 for that night. (And yes, I used the HOTWIRE link from this site to book!) Was looking at this property for August 12th, one night Last week it was offered at $89; today it is at $102. Is the price likely to continue to increase closer to the date? Or should I wait and see if it goes down again? Does anyone have info on Hotwire pricing trends? Thanks, Mike

Has anyone had luck getting this property lately? It's probably a 4-star, "Sunrise" area of FLL. Tried and got Staybridge Suites instead. Grrr... :)
