I started by using the PRICELINE link on this forum.  I entered a bid of $85 for a 3* or 3.5* in the Santa Maria area and the bid was rejected.  So I added the Lompoc area which has nothing higher than a 2.5* and upped my bid to $90 and voila I won the 3.5* in the area I wanted.

$90+$19.56(tax)=$109.56

So I booked the 3.5* hotel 158 a night using the HOTWIRE link on the support page. The hotel that I got was the Universal Sheraton, and I'm happy with that. Thank you, Thereuare and Colfax for all your help. I will tell my friends about this great site.

I was looking at the room rates there (the Hilton) and that's way more than I want to spend, so I am going to go with the Hotwire price and keep my fingers crossed, that it is the Hilton. And if not, that's OK. It does say it is a customer favorite. That's a plus.

I am supposed to use Savings Barn so this site gets the credit; correct.

I would really like to stay specifically at that Hilton. If there is no other way of ensuring I'd be able to bid on that specific hotel, I will just get the room through Priceline using the link offered through Savings Barn.

I am looking for a 4* hotel in Universal City from July 7th through the 9th. I am willing to spend around $130 for a really nice room with a really nice view. Is that possible? And how do I go about bidding for this? Thanks again.
