  2. Hey all I started a search for a pre-cruise hotel in FLL for 05/02/14-05/03/14 using the HOTWIRE link on this board and I get the following. 4* fro $72 in airport area with the following amenities, free parking, free breakfast, free internet, pet friendly, airport shuttle, smoke free rooms, fitness center, pools, and restaurants. I did not see any hotels listed here that match this list, so I just wondering if anyone knows what property this might be. Of course I know I still have plenty of time to book, a room, but this deal sound really good to me. Thanks in advance
  3. Hi guys Sorry for not posting this win earlier, but I but I have had some internet problems and had to use my iPhone to book this hotel. I booked this hotel, as I was not able to make it to Colorado the night before and thus could not use my other reservation in Loveland for that night. I needed to get to DIA to pick a friend coming in at 6:30pm and fortunately we were able to change her reservation. As with the last hotel I wanted to be north of Denver, so I could make it back home the next afternoon for work. Unlike the last time I only had a couple of days to book this hotel, so started my bidding at $45 with the Loveland bidding zone and then added the Windsor bidding zone for $50. Paid $12.72 in taxes and fees for a total of $62.72. Was about $18 less the rate I found on Expedia on my iPhone. Ended up being a good clean hotel with a nice free breakfast just off of I-25.
  4. I started a search using the HOTWIRE link on this site for a hotel in Denver after getting an email from Hotwire, about getting a $20 discount today on a booking with them. Figured I would not get a better rate using Priceline, so I looked at everything from Downtown Denver to the Tech Center South and finally decided on this 3.5* hotel. I was able to get this hotel for $54 + $14.02 (taxes & fees) for a total $68.02. That of course was before the $20 discount which brought the price down to $48.02. This price is over 50% off of the best rates listed at the Doubletree website. This hotel features the following amenities : Restaurant, Pool, Indoor Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Free Parking, Blind Accessible, Deaf Accessible, Travel Accessible, Room Accessible, Bathroom Accessible, Handicapped Parking, Roll-in Shower. Seems like a good deal to me.
  5. The amenities for this hotel are as follows. Shuttle, Complimentary Breakfast, Pool, Fitness, Smoke Free, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Laundry
  6. I originally was going to take a friend to DIA on the morning of 04/10/2013, but due to the weather and road conditions I changed her flight to 04/11/2013. Then I decided to book a room near the airport for the night before the flight. In any event I did not have to time to bid on Priceline, so decided to use the HOTWIRE link on this site to search for a hotel. By doing this I was able to get a room at the Baymont Inn and Suites -Denver International Airport for $65. With $14.90 in taxes and fees I was able to get this hotel for $79.90. Looks like I saved $16 off the best rate at the Baymont website. Not the best savings I have gotten using wither Hotwire or Priceline, but still a good last minute deal.
  7. Hi all I stated my search by using PRICELINE link on this site. I was looking for a hotel for one night to stay after picking up a friend at DIA from an evening flight, but wanted to be more north along I-25. I started my bidding at $38 with the just the Fort Collins bidding zone. I continued to add $2 to my bid plus Fort Collins-Windsor or Loveland bidding zones until I got the Best Western Plus Crossroads Inn & Conference Center for $48 + $12.31 in taxes and fees for a total of $60.31. I have never stayed at this hotel, but stayed across the street either for business or pleasure (paid $100 or more). Not really looking for much, as my friend my have to work the next afternoon, as we will be leaving early in morning to get home to Casper, WY.
  8. Hi all I was able to get the 3 star Little America Hotel in Cheyenne, WY for $54 + $13.19 in taxes and fees for a grand total of $67.13. I had heard of others getting this hotel for the $54, so I decided try that price and was able to get with my first bid. This is a very good deal, as the Little America website is showing rooms rates at over $100 + taxes.
  9. HI all I though I would post a deal I got by starting my bidding using PRICELINE link on this board. I was able to get the New York New York Hotel/Casino for $46 per night + $7 bonus cash per night for a total of $53. I started my bidding with Strip South for $30 with no luck. I then added the following re-bids zones plus $1. Boulder, Henderson, NW Vegas, Summerlin, Nellis, Strip North. I continued this over a period of 3 day until I got this hotel. I ended up paying $184 + 36.48 for a total of $220.48. Of course if you add $28 in bonus cash that brings the price up to $248.48. I have to yet to check the New York New York website, but I have seen other sites listing rates of $70 or more. I had almost considered the Luxor at less than $40 through Orbitz, but had someone tell about a bad experience there. Kind of thought the Luxor might a 4*, but saw it listed here, as 3.5*.
  10. This is a nice hotel. I was able to get through PRICELINE a few months back. The location was great and staff were great, as well. Hope your experience is just, as good as mine.
  11. Hi all I used to the HOTWIRE link here to do a search for a hotel in the Cherry Creek area in Denver, CO for 09/22-09/23. I was able to find a 3* in this area for $81 + taxes and fees. the hotel features the following Indoor pool(s) Smoke Free Rooms Pool(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities (self-service) High-Speed Internet Access Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Free Internet Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower I thinking this may be the Courtyard, but I also see a Holiday Inn Select with similar options. Also was looking at 2* for $71 on Priceline, but am leaning more towards this one. Just wondering if anyone can tell which hotel this me be.
  12. Hi all just wondering if there is any way of IDing a hotel through Priceline's Express Deals Feature. I am looking at a 2* hotel in Denver, CO (Cheery Creek Area) for 09/22-09/23. It is showing free internet, pools, and pet for $71. Just wondering, as I am also looking a 3* for $81 throught Hotwire in same area (might be Courtyard).
  13. Hey all Here are the results for my most recent hotel deal through Priceline. I used the PRICELINE link from this site to start. I was hoping to get a room at the Sheraton or Hyatt Regency, but that did not pan out and ended up with a room at the Crowne Plaza. I was able to get this room for $72 a night + taxes and fees which brought my total to $89.31. While this was more than I had paid in the past it was still better than the $119 rate found at the hotel's website. As I needed room for Saturday night of this week I knew that I did not have a ton of time to bid, so I started my bidding slightly higher than normal. I started at $50, rather than my low ball bid of $35 or $40. Each after not placing a winning bid I would increase my bid by $5 and add another zone that did not any 3* or better properties. At $70 I then just $2 to my bid and finally got an acceptance message. I like the location of the hotel, as is close to the 16th Street Mall and short RTD Bus ride to Coors Field. My step-dad and I are going to game that night, while explores the mall. In all I am happy with what I got, despite not getting one the hotels I had in the past.
  14. Hi all I posting this Priceline hotel on behalf of my mom and sorry in advance, but I don't think she knows to use the link here to start her hotel search. Looks like she used the new Hotwire like feature to get this hotel without bidding. She booked this room last Tuesday (07/10/12) for her class reunion. After seeing that she got a room for 2 nights at the Clarion Inn I did some research and discovered that their normal room rates were $69.00 + taxes. For nights she was able to get this hotel for $90.16 including taxes and fees.
  15. I had started a few days ago by bidding using this site's PRICELINE link on a 3* or better hotel in the Downtown Denver zone, as I wanted to be close to Coors Field. My finial bid was $60 in that zone. After that I remembered that the friend that is going with me does not do elevators (she has castorphobia), so decided to bid in another zone like Cherry Creek or the Airport. This would in turn give us a lower rise hotel with fewer stairs. In any event I started with a bid of $40 in the Cherry Creek zone, but was not accepted. In then added the airport zone with a bid of $45 and this was accepted. I am happy with this price, as the Marriott website shows rates of $139.00 at this hotel. Also I have stayed there in the past and it was a very nice property.
  16. Hi all I just got a great rate on rental car in FLL with Payless. I attempted to use Hotwire and Priceline for a rental in Fort Lauderdale with no luck (either the rate was more than I wanted to pay or by bid was not accepted). I was told by friend that this might be due to fact the my rental dates are still five months away. In any event using the Expedia link on the support page of this site I was able to find a great rate of $17 for a full size car. As I had booked with Payless in the past in LAS I knew to check their Facebook page for coupons (link is located on the left side below their profile photo). While doing this I found that one that would save me 7% off of the rental. Although this code did not give my savings on Expedia, it did however save me $1.19 at the Payless website. So with the discount, taxes, and fees I was able to get this rental for $26.83 for 04/27/2012-04/28/2012. As this is a refundable rate I will continue to check Hotwire and Priceline for a better deal. Also I am still looking for a rental car the following weekend 05/06/2012-05/06/2012, but am unsure what pick-up time to put on the reservation, as I am not sure when I will be off of the Oasis of the Seas.
  17. This is just a follow-up to my first post. Of course as I stated I was hoping to use Priceline to bid a cheap airfare, but that did not workout. Although by using the Expedia link (also available at Travelocity) on the support page of BetterBidding I was able to book my flight to Florida for $429.40 including taxes. United.com wanted $584.90 including taxes for the same flights. I had been watching fares for this trip for several months now and it is the best I have seen (although some else is paying, but still wanted to get him a good price). Just shows that is pays to check out a few sites before booking.
  18. Hey all I used the PRICELINE link on the board to bid on a post-cruise hotel in Fort Lauderdale. I then was able to use a Cyber-Monday coupon to add another $10 on to my bid. I was able to get the 3* Hyatt Place Fort Lauderdale Airport South for 05/05/2012-05/06/2012 for the amount listed below. This was my one and only bid, as I know someone who got this hotel for the same price (not figuring in the coupon) after starting a few days ago with a much lower bid. My bid: $50.00 Taxes and fees: $14.63 Total: $64.63 (would have been over $75 without the coupon) Checked the Hyatt website and their lowest rate are $171 + taxes for my travel dates.
  19. Looks like the Westin to me. I was to get this hotel on Hotwire for a pre-cruise stay in April. The amenities are the same.
  20. I have had no luck with PRICELINE for my airfare. I started out at $300 but that was not accepted. I then added a $1, as well as the option for non-jet flights. That again was not accepted, so I added $1 again, as well as the option for 2 connections. I continued this strategy using other near by airports and bidding every 2 or 4 days, as time permitted until I got my bid up to $366 ($403 with taxes and fees if I remember right). I am now giving up, as I have seem some fares for $450 with taxes, so I may go that route.
  21. Here are the amenities. I just did a copy and paste. Resort, Near Beach, Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center Pool(s), Restaurant(s) Business Center, Laundry Facilities (self-service), High-Speed Internet Access Tennis Nearby, Children's Activity Program Slightly different from what I had in my first post. Sorry about that.
  22. Hi all I just thought I would share the result of great hotel deal I got by using the HOTWIRE link on this site. 4* hotel in Fort Lauderdale Beach Area The Westin Beach Resort (I think this may have been a Sheraton hotel that booked through Priceline a few years back) Amenities: resort, near beach, smoke free rooms, fitness center, pool, spa, golf, high speed internet, and restaurant(s) $37 + $9.93 in charges and taxes for a grand total of $46.93 (starwood.com lowest rate was $265.29 with taxes) I had tried Priceline for a different class of hotel in a different area, but when checking Hotwire today I just decided to go ahead and book this one, as the rate seems very good and it was still close to the airport and cruiseport. Just wish that I could do this well on my airfare.
  23. Thanks for the reply. After reading the thread I suggested I found that I could enter any of the following airports to have CPR, as an option. CPR RIV WRL SHE RKS BFF Never would have thought about any of the smaller airports in my state. I will be share to post my results.
  24. Hey all I am in need of some help in using Priceline to bid for airline tickets to go from CPR to FLL next April for a cruise. I have used Priceline for hotels and rental cars, but never for airfares. I am just wondering when I should start bidding and how much to start bidding at. Airfares are starting at $662 out my home airport (CPR), while the airfares out of Denver start at less than $300. I would love to get an airfare out of CPR for less than $500, but if not my consider flying out of DEN for a better fare. Also I would consider flying in and out of MIA or PBI. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
