  1. Hey all I was looking for a room for February 28-March 3, 2016 in Las Vegas. I began my search using the Hotwire and Priceline links on this site and this what I found. Hotwire - Downtown Fremont Street 3 1/2* @ $36.00 per night with the following amenities free internet, free parking, casino, pools, resort, and restaurant. Priceline Express Deal - Downtown Fremont Street 3 1/2* @ $34.00 per night with the following amenities free internet, pools, restaurant, and casino. Both appeared to be the Downtown Grand, but of course you never know until you have finished the booking process. I then checked a few other sites including Expedia and Orbitz using the links on this site. In addition I also checked Lasvegas.com, as they have a best price guarantee that I have taken advantage of in the past. In any event I found the Downtown Grand for $46.66 per night at Lasvegas.com and $37.46 per night at Orbitz with promo code listed right on their home page. After this I decided to book the room at the higher price on Lasvegas.com and then turn in a claim for their price guarantee. I had almost forgotten about the claim until I received an email from them that stated that they would honor the better rate through Orbitz and double the difference, as a refund. So in the end I got a room for $28.99 per night after figuring in my $67.66 refund from Lasvegas.com.
  2. Hey all I decided today to start looking again at hotels in Denver for an upcoming trip next month and of course began my search using the HOT.WIRE and PRICELINE links on this site. When doing this I came across a 3* hotel in the Cherry Creek zone on hotwire for $87, so did a quick search on Priceline and did not find anything that good in price. Also I checked this site and found that this hotel might the Holiday Inn (although listed here and at Hotwire as Holiday Inn Select, but the Select brand has been discontinued by Intercontinental Hotel Group) on south Colorado Blvd and indeed it was. When booking this hotel the price went up by $1 per night although it is still a good deal. Below is the price breakdown for this hotel. Rate per night $88.00 x nights Subtotal $176.00 Tax recovery charges + fees $39.38 Hotwire total $215.38 The best rate through the Holiday Inn website is $195 + taxes and fess, so I got this room for 2 night for around the price, as hotel is charging for 1 and possibly less if you figure in taxes. Hotel Amenities are, as follows. Free parking - Free Internet - Indoor pool(s) - Smoke-free rooms - Fitness center - Pool(s) - Restaurant(s) - Business center - Self-service laundry - Internet access - Accessible for visually impaired - Accessible for hearing impaired - Accessible path of travel - In-room accessibility - Accessible bathroom - Accessible parking - Roll-in shower
  3. Hi all I started my search using both the HOT.WIRE and PRICELINE links on this site and now need some help. Just looking for help in IDing a 3* Hotel in Greater Downtown Denver for July 09, 2015 to July 11, 2015 at $142 per night. AMENITIES: Free parking, Free breakfast, Free Internet, Pet friendly, Suite, Fitness center, Pool(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower I was thinking something like maybe the Residence Inn Downtown Denver, but I never have seen a Marriott property on Hotwire. Have won in the past with Priceline. The free parking is what makes me think it the Residence Inn, rather than a hotel right in downtown area, as most charge for this.
  4. Hey Just booked the Hotel 140 using the HOTWIRE link at this site and got the great deal listed below. Rate per night $188.00 x 3 nightsSubtotal $564.00Tax recovery charges + fees $114.93Hotwire total $678.93This hotel feature the following amenities: Free Internet - Smoke-free rooms - Fitness center - Business center - Self-service laundry - Internet access - In-room accessibility - Accessible bathroom The total listed above is at least $250 off the best rate I was finding at sites like Hotels..com and Expe.dia. Does not look like it is the fanciest hotel, but does rate 4* out 5* at Tripadvisor and the location looks good, plus it has free internet (like to use to plan my day on public transit).
  5. Hey all I just booked a hotel for my pre-cruise stay (posted on this site). Now I am looking at a hotel for the 3 nights after my cruise. For these nights I am looking for something in back bay area (I think?), but am open to anything that might be close to some sightseeing opportunities (I am traveling with my retired parents that don't get around to well, so less walking is better). Please clue me into why I might want to look at hotels in the Back Bay area or some other zone through Hotwire. I thought the person paying for the trip would complain when i told him the previously booked hotel would cost him over $340, but he did not. I any event I won't say that price is not an option, but I don't think we need the most expensive place in Boston.
  6. Hi all I finally decided to book the hotel for the night before our cruise out of Boston in October using the HOTWIRE link on this great site. I an event, as I thought I might I ended up with the Seaport Boston Hotel for the rate listed below. Rate per night $275.00 NightsTax recovery charges + fees $67.88Hotwire total $342.88 This rate is good, as the lowest rate at the hotel's website is $249 not including taxes or fees. Also I had some credit with PayPal from selling some unwanted items on eBay, so I used this to pay for part of this hotel stay. AMENITIES: Free Internet, Pet friendly, Indoor pool(s), Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Spa services, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower I am happy with hotel, as it the top rated hotel on Tripadvisor and also if I am correct I can use public transportation to get to this hotel for little or nothing. Now I am off to look at hotels for the 3 nights after our cruise. I think I am going to look in the Back Area
  7. Hey all I started my search for a hotel in Denver for a few weeks out using the HOTWIRE link and PRICELINE link on this great site. I looked at rooms in the downtown, Cherry Creek, and Denver Tech Center - Greenwood Village area. In any event I settled on a 3.5* hotel listed on Hotwire in the latter of 3 zones for $57 a night, as I was almost sure it was the Double Tree (stayed there before and knew it was near a light rail station) and a friend gave me a coupon code to save $25. I might have gotten that hotel had I not accidentally closed out the window. After retrying my search I did not see this hotel listed, so accepted a another 3.5 hotel (sorry I can not select 3.5* from the drop down menu, so my post may say 5* instead), as it had a good rating and ended up with the Hyatt House Denver Tech Center. I was able to get this hotel for $65 a night plus taxes and fees. Below is the breakdown for this, as well as the amenities. 2 nights Hotwire Hot Rate Room@ $65.00/night: $130.00Tax recovery charges & fees:$25.15Subtotal: $155.15Discount: -$25.00Hotwire Total: $130.15 Amenities are as follows: Free parking, Free breakfast, Free Internet, Pet friendly, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower. While not the Double Tree that I had stayed at before and really liked I am still happy, as the Hyatt website has this hotel priced at $187.43 for the 2 nights.
  8. Thanks I was kind of thinking that, but was not sure. Looks like a good hotel that is really the case.
  9. Here are the amenities I found at BiddingHelper.com.com FULL AMENITIES: Pet friendly, Boutique hotel, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Spa services, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Wheelchair accessible, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower
  10. HI all Looking to see anyone can help me to determine a hotel on Hotwire for 10/03/2015-10/04/2015 in Boston - Fanueil Hall - North End - Waterfront area for a 5* property for $272 for 3 people. The amenities listed on the Hotwire website are. Pet friendly - Boutique hotel - Smoke-free rooms - Fitness center - Restaurant(s) - Business center - Self-service laundry - Internet access - Spa Services Thanks
  11. Hey all I am looking to book at room in Boston for Saturday October 3 - Sunday October 4 and then Sunday October 11 - Wednesday October 14. Just wondering when is a good time to buy on Hotwire. For the first night I am looking for a room in "Waterfront Area - Convention Center area," I want something close to Black Falcon Cruise Port (leaving on a cruise that Sunday). I am finding a hotel that I believe is the Seaport Hotel for $275 for 3 people with the following amenities free internet, pet friendly, indoor pool, smoke free rooms, fitness center, pools, restaurants, and business center. If I were to get the Seaport I would be very happy with price, but wondering how early I should book this hotel. Also wondering about using Priceline, but of course I know that they only guarantee a room for 2 people, although I have gotten lucky enough to get room with 2 beds in the past. For the last 3 nights I am open to other areas of Boston to stay in and have yet to start looking at prices. Thanks in advance for your replies
  12. Here the other amenities I found when looking at my Hotwire account. In-room accessibilityAccessible BathroomAccessible ParkingRoll-in Shower
  13. Hi all I was able to get the Cambria Suites in Fort Collins, CO for 02/10/2015-02/11/2015 for following price by starting my search using the HOTWIRE link on this very useful site. Hotwire rate: 99.00Taxes/Fees: 21.03Total: 120.03Discount: 20.00New Total: 100.03The Cambria Suites website has this hotel listed at $119.00 + another $10 or so in taxes, so i saved $30 off of their rate. This hotel offers the following amenities. SuiteBoutique HotelIndoor PoolSmoke Free RoomsFitness CenterPoolsRestaurantsBusiness CenterSelf Service Laundry
  14. I started my search using the PRICELINE link on this site. My budget was only $75 (+taxes/fees) per night and I was hoping for a room in downtown Denver, but would settle for a hotel in Cherry Creek. I started my bidding for a 3* in the downtown Denver zone at $50. I then added $5 and another free rebid zone (Castle Rock, Evergreen, and Northeast Denver) until I got up $75. At that point I started looking at their Express deals and found a 2.5* in Cherry Creek for just $68 and I good idea that it might be the Fairfield Inn or Hampton Inn, so I took it. In any event I got the following hotel. 3* Fairfield Inn And Suites Denver Cherry Creek for 09/19/2014-09/21/2014 per night rate: $68 + taxes & fees: $28.84 Total: $164.84 Free parking Free internet Free breakfast Pool Fitness Center The Marriott website shows rates of either $119.95 or $129.95 depending on if you book a room with 1 or 2 beds. Overall I am happy with this offer, as I checked Tripadvisor and it gets okay reviews.
  15. No it does not need to be right next to the cruise port. We are looking at coming in at least a few days in advance to do some sightseeing. Our dates are over a year a way, so I know it is too early to book the hotel, but was hoping to get an idea of which areas to look in. As far, as a budget I will come up with one once I start seeing what is available and what rates I am finding. Really just would like great access to public transit, as we will not be driving a car while in Boston. Thanks
  16. Hey all I am looking to book a cruise out of Boston and was just wondering which zones for Price.line and Hot.wire I should looking at her a pre or post-cruise hotel stay. Hoping to get something close to public transportation. Thanks
  17. Hey all After starting my search using the Priceline link and several days of bidding on Priceline here is what I was able to get. 3.5* Crowne Plaza Hotel Denver for $145 + 27.53 (taxes/fees) = $172.53 The Crowne Plaza website shows their best rate of $193 + taxes and fees, so while the price through Priceline is not as good as have gotten for this zone or this hotel for that matter in past I think I still got an okay deal. I was willing to spend up $150 and was going to look at booking a hotel through another site. I had looked at other hotels including the Residence Inn City Center and was finding rates closer to $200 + taxes/fees. I stayed at this hotel in the past it was nice and for me is with-in walking distance of Coors Field and the 16th Street Mall.
  18. Hey all I am looking to get a room in downtown Denver (really would like to get room there, so I can just walk to Coors Field for a baseball game) for the night of 07/04/2014. I have gotten a number of 3*, 3.5*, and 4* properties in this area for less than $100 and some for quite a bit less than that. I have been looking at Hot.wire and Price.line using the links on this site. and this is what I am getting. $155 3.5* on Priceline.Express) $158 3.5* on Hot.wire Also I have tried the name your price feature on Price.line and I am up to $100. I started my bidding at $50 knowing that I have a few months to book this room. After each unsuccessful bid for this zone I would add a free rebidding zone (either Evergreen or Northeast Denver). I have done this for the past several nights and am not successful. Just wondering how early most people start bidding with Price.line. In addition I am wondering if the holiday has anything to do with my issues. I also would open to other areas of Denver, but would really like something where I would not have to drive to the game. Could use light rail, but there is not a way of knowing if the hotel I will get elsewhere will be near a light rail station. Thanks in advance.
  19. Hey all I have been looking for several months for a pre-cruise rental in Fort Lauderdale. I started my search using the HOTWIRE link on this site, but never got anything that made want to jump and make a reservation. Well that was until I got an email from Hotwire about a price-drop for my dates. In any event I came back to this site and used the HOTWIRE link to do a search and below are results i got. Midsize car for $9.95 + taxes & fees for a total of $30.40. After that I did a search at Hertz to see if I could do better using my Gold Plus Points (earned through e-rewards) to get a free rental (would just need to pay the taxes and fees). Their regular rates are lots more than Hotwire even when I enter a CDP in. In any event I would not do too much better with Hertz by only paying the taxes and fees, so I decided to continue my search. Then I also did a search at expedia.com and found a slightly higher rate than Hotwire with Thrifty for the same size car at $15 + taxes fees for a total of $25 (lower overall rate). After this I decided to use the link here for Thrifty, as they sometimes offer better rate at there site. When doing this I remembered to select there Port Everglades location for the return of this car. In any event below is what I was able to get. Thrifty Midsize Car: 05/02/14-05/03/14 renting from FLL and returning to FL9 (Port Everglades Location) base rate: $13.33 taxes & fees: $9.94 total: $23.27 I really like this rate, as it includes a free shuttle to Port Everglades.
  20. Hi all While I normally like to use Priceline or Hotwire to book hotel rooms, as I always seem to get a great rate, this go around I did not. While I did check both Hotwire and Priceline I also used the links on this site for Comfort Inn, Holiday Inn, and Hilton Hotels (all brands) to a search for park, sleep, and fly packages at hotels near Denver International Airport. I did this, as remember getting a package at Sleep Inn DIA a few years back that included our hotel room, airport shuttle, and free parking at the hotel while gone. Doing this turned up rates of about $180 including taxes at either Embassy Suites or HIlton Garden Inn. Found some other properties for less, but they were only offering 7 days worth of free parking. In addition I also did a Yahoo search for park and fly hotels near DIA and came across a site called valuefly.com. At that site I found the Sleep Inn DIA with a rate of $99 plus taxes/fees for a total of $116.48. This rate includes 1 night at the hotel (the night before our flight), a free shuttle ride to and from DIA, and free parking while gone on our cruise. Seems like a great rate, parking at the airport can run you over $10 a day and the cheapest off airport lot is around $8 a day. My friend then made the reservation and only had to put down a small $14 deposit. while the remainder is due at check-out.
  21. Sorry I am not seeing more amenities, than those I have listed.
  22. Hi all I needed another hotel room for a post-cruise hotel stay. Once again I started my search using the HOTWIRE link on this site. I was this time looking for something in the airport zone, as we have an early morning flight. In any event I was able to get the following. 3* Hyatt House Fort Lauderdale Airport South for $67.00 + $17.38 (taxes/fees) = $84.38 for 05/10/2014-05/11/2014. Hotwire lists this hotel, as having the following amenities, free parking, free breakfast, free internet, pet friendly, suite, airport shuttle, smoke free rooms, fitness center, pool(s), business center, internet access, golf nearby, accessible for the blind, accessible for the deaf, accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, wheelchair accessible, accessible bathroom, handicapped parking roll-in shower. The Hyatt website shows rates around $200, so the Hotwire rate is very good. I also previously stayed at the Hyatt Place which I think is close by and if memory serves me there are a number of shops and eateries near by as well. In addition I was hoping for a hotel with a business center, so I can print out boarding passes for our flight back to Denver on Southwest and this hotel seems to offer that. Now just need to start researching rental cars for this trip.
  23. Hi all I have for a number of months been looking for a hotel from a pre and/or post cruise stay in Fort Lauderdale, but had never been too serious, as I had to book our airfare and that would determine the dates. In any event today I booked our tickets with Southwest from Denver. After doing that I used the HOTWIRE and PRICELINE links on this site to search for my pre-cruise hotel. I was hoping to get something near the beach, so I started my search on Hotwire and found a 3* hotel for $90 in the Fort Lauderdale beach zone. Using the amenities listed I narrowed this property to what I thought was the Ocean Sky Resort, but would not be sure until I booked it. Then checked out some reviews on this hotel. They seemed mixed, but was pleased to a large of good reviews. In any event I decided to try my luck on PRICELINE and started my bidding at $75, but unsuccessful, so I upped my bid to $80 and added the airport north bidding zone, as there were not 3* in that area. I was again unsuccessful, so I just decided to book the hotel at HOTWIRE and below is what I got. 3* Sky Ocean Resort for 05/02/2014-05/03/2014 for $90 + $19.95 (fees/taxes) = $109.59. Hotwire lists the hotel's amenities, as being Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Internet Access, Self Service Laundry, In-room accessibility, accessible for the deaf, accessible path of travel, and roll-in shower. The hotel's website does show rates close to $150, so I am happy with my price. Also I understand that like most beach front hotels there is a parking fee ($15 at this hotel). Overall I am happy to get a breach front hotel for less than $100. Had previously stayed at the Westin and Sheraton Yankee Clipper and paid more through Priceline. Now off to look for a post-cruise hotel in Fort Lauderdale, as well as rental car.
  24. Yes it does include laundry. If it is the Hyatt Place I would be very happy, as I stayed there last May after a cruise and was very happy with the hotel. i will be sure to keep you guys posted. Thanks
