  1. I like this property and have been bidding on it for a few weeks. I was offered to buy it now at 84$. Hotel is listed at $259. I used your PRICELINE link...thanks again for your guidance! For2 nights: Room Subtotal: $150.00 Taxes & Fees: $31.72 Total Charged to Card: $181.72
  2. Bid for this on the morning of my stay - I took the offer to add $10 to my $50 bid. The hotel is a little old but clean, and everyone was really nice; good coffee, cookies and fruit in lobby. Thanks for your help BB!
  3. Used BB PRICELINE link & saved some money - thanks for your help!
  4. Made the reservation the night before staying - bid $40 and counter offer of $50 was fine with me. (Bids at this hotel have been accepted at $44.) The staff and general manager go out of their way to make it a good stay. Gave me Priority member gift bag, and extra miles for my stay. The hotel is a dinosaur, but it worked for one night. Lubbock has many 2- 2 1/2* hotels that are brand new and nicer, but nothing better under $100 that I could find. I used BB PRICELINE link - thanks! You can add this hotel to your list...
  5. You can add this to the list of hotels. I used Better Bidding PRICELINE link - thanks! Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $59.00 Taxes & Fees: $13.37 Total Charges*: $72.37
  6. My win - Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $69.00 Taxes & Fees: $16.67 Total Charges*: $85.67 Not my best work here - don't bid when you're really really tired! I was hoping to extend my Residence Inn stay (see my priceline win below) and feed my hungry teenager breakfast for free, so I went higher than I needed to, but I will just have to walk across the parking lot when switching hotels. I had the option of a special Courtyard rate for that week of 79.00 w/ tax of 9.88 total 88.88, so.... I saved $3.21 and gave up the flexibility to change reservation, but I'm still a happy camper. Room rate is $109 online. Thanks Better Bidding - used your PRICELINE link!
  7. I used the BB PRICELINE link and tried this area for a few days. Could have added $14 to my $50 bid 2 days ago, but I am really happy to have won Residence Inn for this price. I was hoping for a North Harbor room instead of Jantzen Beach, so once I won it, I added a day. Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $57.00 Taxes and Fees: $14.91 Total Charges : $71.91 per night Thanks for your site!
  8. Started @ $40, raised up to $50 dollars with every combination possible to win 3* downtown without any luck, then waited 24 hr. and got it on first try at $45. Could have started lower, but I am happy to win the Hyatt for Convention Center trip. Lowest promo rate is $135. I used the BB PRICELINE link - thanks! Room Cost $45.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $13.26 (USD) Total Room Cost: $58.26 (USD)
  9. I am very happy with this win! Thanks for your help BB! Affinia Dumont 150 East 34th Street Subtotal: $87.00 Taxes and Service Fees: $23.59 Total Charges*: $110.59
  10. Thanks for your help - I am tempted to drive into the city if we leave early enough in the morning - (although I haven't driven in the city in 20 years)...3 of us on Sunday scheduled mass transportation vs. toll and parking and a bit more courage - any thoughts?
  11. I would appreciate any suggestions for this trip! ( Two of my favorite places on the earth are hot Bagels on River Road, Fair Lawn, and to the Market Basket in Franklin Lakes. Otherwise this trip is to let my husband experience the jersey shore, and a day trip to the city. Oh, and to visit my family. Of course.) We will be at the Paramus Park Crowne Plaza Sat night - Sunday. we are thinking of going into the city on Sunday morning before going down the shore that night and stay in Neptune for a couple days - Could you suggest the easiest way to get in? I usually take a train (from Glen Rock or Radburn) and parking is free on Sundays, but perhaps only if you have a town sticker on your car..anything closer to my hotel? Park n Ride somewhere - I've been out of the area a while...The Paramus Park bus is of no help on Sundays, and we will have a rental car. We will be going to see the Intrepid, and I wouldn't mind showing my husband Hoboken/Jersey City and taking the Waterway if it works out. One more question - how convenient is it to travel from Jersey City to EWR with small bags - We are thinking of spending our last night in Jersey City, then we could do the city trip from there, and fly out at 5:30pm from EWR. I would get rid of the rental car a day early and use the trains to get to and from the hotel, and the hotel could store our bag the last day. Thanks for your help!
  12. I tried lower bids for a few days, and worked my way up to 45$. Taxes and Fees: $14.20 (USD) Total Room Cost: $59.20 (USD) Thanks for all of your help!
  13. Bid $46.00-3* Neptune--Rejected Priceline countered with a $13.00 raise ($59.00 ) Bid $50.00 with the free rebid of Hazlet. $50.00 accepted-Residence Inn. I used your PRICELINE link - thanks!
  14. FYI - I was putting off buying one night in June at the Doubletree Chelsea on Hotwire, and yesterday the price went up to $185 - $199. The dates previously won have also gone up, so I wouldn't worry too much...sounds like they are in business to me! Know that you probably got a great one time deal! Let us know how it goes.
  15. Hotel - 1 room, 2 nights Embassy Suites DC Convention Center 900 10th St. NW Washington, District of Columbia 20001 (202) 739-2001 Complimentary Breakfast Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities High-speed Internet Access Trip Advisor Traveler Rating (4.0 out of 5) Hotel 1 room(s) @ $83.00 per night x 2 night(s) $166.00 Tax recovery charge and feesHotel subtotal $29.89 $195.89 I went through your HOTWIRE link to get this room - the great breakfast and snacks/drinks at night make this a great place for my family at a great price - Thanks again BB!
  16. Yes - we got our tickets yesterday, changing our DC dates to 7/4 - 7/7. I won a great room through your site on Hotwire for the 5-7th - (should I post it here or as a Hotwire win?) We still need a room for the 4th - we get in to DCA about 5 pm and after a long travel day we would like to stay in Arlington or Alexandria, maybe the airport area or we could venture into DC that night with the crowds....any comments or advice? We will be going to stay in DC the next day... thanks for any help. We would stay in 2.5 - 4*... Thank you!
  17. Thank you SWA - Great help! We are still working on flights... I was hoping to stay in the Dupont Circle or Capitol Hill sections, and perhaps White House area. (When in NYC I stick with 4 and possibly 3 )- I looked up PL occasional wins for 2.5 hotels in DC and saw great reviews. Then I started peeking at 4 and 3 star wins, and some of those hotels had some pretty awful write ups on Trip Advisor. It seems White House area had more complaints...I haven't done the usual amount of research, so I will gladly take direction. I will probably start out with $85 as my limit for 4*, Dupont Circle and Capital Hill areas. I wouldn't mind trying a 2.5*, staying at $55 limit...haven't seen many wins like this. Thanks for the help!
  18. We have decided to take a trip to DC for the 4th of July - we will be using mass transportation and my son wants to spend time @ Smithsonian. We hope to attend July 4th evening activities. We enjoy walking, but we don't know this city at all. Any suggestions for Priceline hotel areas? (while I am asking, any advice about best airport? I've guessed this order - DCA, BWI, IAD) Thank you!
  19. This hotel can be added to the Boulder list. The amenities of the alleged 3* are as follows: Shuttle, Pool,High-speed Internet Access,Comp Breakfast,Restaurant,Tennis Nearby This hotel is more like a 2 or 2.5* - and it was $.99 more a night at Best Western online. But then again, no whining, right? Thanks for this great site (from a true PRICELINE fan).
  20. Belated posting, but it may be a new hotel for your list. I do remember trying quite a few areas to be near Groton, and I put in Norwich 2.5* thinking nothing would come up. It was a nice hotel, newly renovated rooms, and we enjoyed the swimming pool. It is very close to Mohegan Sun Casino (3 Miles) and not far from Foxwood, and easy to get to Groton. They offer a free shuttle to Mohegan Sun. Thanks BB.
  21. We again went through SavingsBarn to use Priceline. (After decided to stay a second night in Tucson) I bid 3* East Tucson $43, adding La Paloma $46 and Tucson North $49, without luck. Then I tried 2.5* the same way at $43, $46, and won at $50. Hilton Tucson East is going through, in their words, an Extreme Makeover, and the mess alone would have upset me if I paid full price. The room was very nice, staff was exceptional. Offered a free pass to the YMCA to make up for the torn out gym. Small pool with a lot of construction debris about, but after a busy day we really just needed a very nice comfortable room, and that we had. Thanks BB.
  22. I went through SavingsBarn to use Priceline. I had been trying Tucson resorts for a few days at $75 and under without luck, so I bid on 3* East, adding La Paloma and North Tucson, from $43, $45, and won on $50. $64.19 was the total. We had good cookies, a good room (2 queen). My husband liked the price, my son enjoyed the gym, and the pink grapefruit I picked from one of the numerous citrus trees behind the pool was so sweet. We didn't use the tennis center or pool, but both were nice. 5K walk around Reid Park across the street was handy. This hotel is going through a big renovation and we didn't see any of it. Priceline offered another night at 77.00 plus tax, but we passed. Thanks for BB!
  23. Travelzoo has a good group of deals, and the Affinia Manhattan fit for the 12th, so I booked it. We had Roosevelt for 199 with 2 free breakfasts, 2 beds, but Affinia reviews won me over. Sound like a deal to you? I am not sure I can do better on Hotwire...but I will keep looking. fyi - Courtyard by Marriott Times Square South is 199 for 2 beds (Family and Friends promo). It sounds like a good deal for families, and it gets good reviews. Thanks for any and all advice!
  24. bbbb, "Located near downtown and about six minutes to the lake." All of the reviews I've read say it is easy on/off I-90, exit 12.
  25. I started bidding $30 for 2.5 in Post Falls/Coeur d'Alene,(Red Lion) then I would rebid 2*, then in 5$ increments. My husband and I did this for a few days, and he had no luck at $60. We were going to pay $139 for a Comfort Inn anyway, so I $65 for 2.5*, added 2*, then $75 and won it. I expect to share a good review later.
