Started bidding at $39. and increased it by $2. each day. Three times I received the invitation to rebid at $57, but I didn't bite. I started each bid from the PRICELINE link on the betterbidding website.

That was my assumption. I really don't want to be more than half a mile from the convention center. I'm thinking too that bidding won't be an option this time around. Vintage
I have used the BetterBidding banner to begin my Priceline bids many times over the years. I have also tried to follow up on any questions. I tried accessing the links indicated in your response, but nothing is there. One question-- Today I received one of those $7./night off offers from Priceline. Is there a way I can use that and also initiate the bidding through BetterBidding? Vintage
My wife and I are planning to drive to NYC from southeast PA on a Sunday, returning Monday. Our preference would be to get a hotel outside the city and take public transportation in to the city in order to save on hotel and parking cost. Any suggestions? Vintage

I called to confirm the room and to request a king-size bed rather than the two doubles [for our anniversary weekend getaway]. I was told they can not do that, but only mark it down as a "preference". I saw others had had some success with receiving a preferred room or upgrade when tipping the person at the front desk for "excellent service". I'd be glad to hear of anyone's experience with this at this hotel. Vintage
I began bidding at $55. a few days ago, increasing two dollars each bid. Three bids each day, for the areas of Dupont Circle, Georgetown and White House. Happy with a $69. win. Vintage
I have continued bidding and was still denied at $65. I decided to drive farther to Toledo and just won a 3* in Toledo-Holland for my first bid of $40. Vintage
Any experience at either of these? Effingham has max of 2.5 stars and Terre Haute 2 stars. I would prefer 2.5 stars, but was rejected at $30. at Effingham today. Plan on trying $35. tomorrow. This is for 1 night in about one week from now. Vintage
