  1. I tried the search with 4 adults, and Hotwire shows a 4* downtown with the following amenities: Boutique, Restaurant, Business, High-Speed Internet, and Spa. The set of amenities (plus the TripAdvisor rating of 4.5) is a match for the Riverplace Hotel. I don't know if you want a hotel in this location, though.
  2. Hotwire does give refunds if you can show that its rating for a hotel is out of line with that of other travel websites. Unfortunately, that's not the case here: Expedia, Travelocity, and Orbitz all rate this Hilton 4*. There's no recourse if you misidentify a hotel based on information you found on websites like this one. When using the hotel lists, keep in mind that Hotwire can change a hotel's star rating and amenities list at any time. Ever since Hotwire substituted Expedia's vacation packages for its own, we don't know of any method of tracking these changes, other than through reports from other members. And it's been a long time since anybody has reported or inquired about the Hilton. Therefore, you must use the hotel lists carefully when trying to ID a hotel. If you look at the list again, you'll notice that the list of amenities you gave is an exact match for the Hilton, but not for the Westin (it was last reported with the Kitchenette amenity, but not Golf or Tennis). If you had asked us for an ID, I'm sure we would have guessed, based on the amenities, that the Hilton had been upgraded to 4*. As for the examples given by Hotwire in its star rating guide, you should just ignore them, as they've long been obsolete. Also, Hotwire doesn't necessarily give every hotel in a chain the same rating.
  3. The Doubletree Guest Suites has smoking rooms (it was also last reported at 3.5* with a different set of amenities). This hotel has not been identified. My best guess is the Hampton Inn Phoenix Airport North, but there are probably several other hotels that are consistent with the information given by Hotwire. If you decide to book this hotel, please start your purchase from the Hotwire link on this site.
  4. My best guess is the Extended Stay America Phoenix Airport - E. Oak St.
  5. Welcome to BetterBidding, edvanp. This hotel has not been identified. If you change your search parameters to 2 adults/2 children, the 3* Near Strip South hotel has the same rate and customer feedback, but with the following amenities listed in addition to the ones above: Boutique, Casino, Shuttle, Smoke Free. HOTWIRE also shows a TripAdvisor rating of 3.5 for this hotel. This hotel hasn't been identified either, but at least there's more information given. My best guess for this hotel is the Silverton Hotel and Casino, and it's likely that the hotel you saw in your original search is the same. However, you may want to consider booking as 2 adults/2 children if you are particularly interested in the Silverton. If you decide to book this hotel, please start your purchase from the Hotwire link on this site. p.s. I just tried the HOTWIRE search again, and the hotel I found searching for 2 adults/2 children is now coming up for 2 adults/0 children; obviously, my guess is the same.
  6. Orlando, FL Priceline updates: Priceline has created a new zone -- Orlando Airport West - FL Mall Area -- from the Sand Lake Corporate Park zone and the westernmost part of the Orlando Airport zone. The reported hotels in this new zone are all of the hotels in the Sand Lake Corporate Park zone and the Florida Hotel and Conference Center from the Airport zone. The Crowne Plaza Universal has been upgraded to 4*.
  7. The set of amenities for the 4* in Scottsdale is a match for the Doubletree Paradise Valley Resort, so that's my best guess. The 90% rating is the percentage of HOTWIRE customers that recommend the hotel (the listing shows a TA rating of 4.0 just below the customer feedback). When you view the full listing for the 4* in North Scottsdale, you should see a link beside the amenities icons that says "See all". When you click it, HOTWIRE will open a window showing a list of all the amenities (the hotel listing will only show the first eight). In the future, be sure to use this link and list all the amenities when asking for an ID (of course, you only really need to do this when the initial search shows 8 amenities). Does the full list show Golf, Tennis, Children's Activities, and Spa as well as the amenities you listed above? If so, this set of amenities is a match for the Westin Kierland Resort, so that's my best guess.
  8. Are you referring to the Delta Toronto Airport West? It's been previously reported as a 3.5* hotel, but now the Crowne Plaza seems to be coming up far more often as the 3.5* Toronto Airport hotel. Is there a reason why you want to stay at this particular hotel?
  9. The Orange Tree Golf Resort might not be hiding the Restaurant amenity. There are recent reviews on TripAdvisor that suggest that their restaurant is currently closed. If true, it would explain why Priceline downgraded the property to 2.5*.
  10. I just noticed your post last month, where you wrote that there were no 4* rooms available in the Downtown Toronto West zone on Hotwire. That got me thinking that there might be a large conference at the Metro Toronto Convention Center (which is in the Downtown West zone). I checked the convention center's website -- the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada is holding its International Trade Show, Trade Show & Investors Exchange March 7-10. There were 18,000 registrants for this convention last year; the convention has room blocks at 14 downtown hotels, and 11 of them are sold out.
  11. While there are no ironclad guarantees with PRICELINE, I think you can safely bid for the Sheraton in this case. I have not found any other 3.5* hotels in this zone in the course of my research, and I can't think of another hotel in the area that could plausibly be rated 3.5*.
  12. The set of amenities is a match for the Edgewater Hotel on Hotwire's old vacation packages. The TripAdvisor rating of 3.5 is consistent with the Edgewater as well, so that's my best guess. If you decide to book this hotel, please start your purchase from the Hotwire link on this site.
  13. The set of amenities is a match for the Crowne Plaza, so that's my best guess.
  14. Although the set of amenities for the Downtown 4* is a match for the Benson, I think it's much more likely to be the Westin (with the Smoke Free amenity added since it was last reported), given the customer reviews and TA information.
  15. Welcome to BetterBidding, georgiadave. Please use only one topic per stay. When asking for a HOTWIRE hotel identification, you need to list all the amenities shown by HOTWIRE. We perform the same search during the process of trying to identify the hotel, and we need to be sure that we're seeing the same listing that you are. Don't waste your time trying to find the Marriott Downtown Waterfront on HOTWIRE; I've never seen it come up on Hotwire, nor have heard about anyone getting it by bidding through PRICELINE.
  16. I'm not getting the same set of amenities when I try the search. Are you using parameters other than 1 room/2 adults/0 children?
  17. The set of amenities for the 3 star is a match for the Mayflower Park on Hotwire's old vacation packages. The customer feedback and the TripAdvisor rating of 4.5 are also consistent with the Mayflower Park, so that's my best guess. In the future, please keep all posts pertaining to the same stay in one topic. If you want to ask about a different hotel for the same stay, simply add it as a reply to the topic you've already started instead of starting a new one.
  18. I think you're the one having a bad day, Puttersea. There's no excuse for such a rude response to a very simple request. Everyone is asked to follow up the topics they start (even if they book through other channels or cancel the trip) out of courtesy to those who took the time to help. And the reason for asking you to report your Priceline and Hotwire purchases should be obvious: where do you think the information that you've been using from this forum comes from? Nobody else will help you either until you get your attitude straightened out and start showing some respect for thereuare and the other members of this board.
  19. The Ramada, I believe, comes up quite frequently on Hotwire, but has never been reported. A number of people have asked about a 3* in Downtown Toronto East with the following amenities: Smoke Free, Fitness, Pool, Restaurant, High-speed Internet, Golf, Tennis. When I tell them that I think it's the Ramada, however, they lose interest. I just did a search on HOTWIRE for the 19th and the above hotel is available for $72. If you can get a CDN$99 rate from the Ramada, this this probably not a big enough discount to justify taking the chance that I'm wrong (though my track record is pretty good). In fact, I'm not sure that you'd be saving enough to compensate for losing the ability to cancel or choose your room type, even if we knew for sure that this hotel is the Ramada; it would depend on how many nights you're staying.
  20. The set of amenities is a match for La Quinta Inn Phoenix Scottsdale on Hotwire's old vacation packages, so that's my best guess.
  21. More Priceline updates: San Jose, CA: The Moorpark Hotel (Cupertino-Campbell) has been downgraded to 3*. Phoenix, AZ: The Lexington Central Phoenix (Downtown) has been downgraded back to 2.5*. The Mondrian Scottsdale has been downgraded to 3.5*.
  22. Please keep all posts pertaining to the same stay on one topic. This hotel's identity has not been confirmed. If you change the search to 4 adults, however, the 3* hotel in North Scottsdale has the same rate and customer feedback, but also lists Shuttle and Laundry as amenities. This set of amenities is a match for La Quinta Inn Phoenix Scottsdale on Hotwire's old vacation packages, so that's my best guess. I don't know what would happen if you booked for two people and brought three; it depends on the hotel. I've never tried it personally, so I'm sure there are others who are better qualified to answer that question. If you decide to book this hotel, please start your purchase from the HOTWIRE link on this site.
  23. Another Priceline update: The Red Lion in Eugene, OR has been downgraded to 2.5*.
  24. The amenities are the same as the hotel you asked about a few weeks ago, so my best guess is the same -- the Best Western Abercorn Inn. The customer ratings are low enough that I'd pass on it too, even given the small number of reviews for this property. If it is the Best Western, it probably isn't that bad judging from the other reviews I've seen, but it's almost certainly overrated as a 3* hotel (Priceline rates it 2*).
