Amenities Boutique Hotel Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center Internet access Accessibility Accessible for the blind Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Any ideas what this hotel is too? thanks!
  4. Hi, I'm looking for a great hotel in the Magnificent Mile - River North location. I've got this one for $95/night showing at 4.5 stars, with these amenities... Amenities Pet friendly Indoor pool(s) Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Self service laundry Internet access any ideas what this hotel would be? thanks!
  5. Thanks for the help! I was able to get a 3* for $127 in CPS (Holiday Inn Hotel New York City-Midtown-57th St) I used your PRICELINE link too. Thanks, Matt
  6. Hi, Just checking to see if anyone had a bidding strategy that I could try today... Thanks
  7. Ok - sounds great. I just clicked the link 2x. When I bid with your strategy for 3*, should I just use the exact same strategy that you give me for the 3.5* , but add the 3* rating? Hopefully the 3.5* strategy will be all I need though, and we get a hotel with that. :) I'd like to get this today if possible. Thanks again!! Matt
  8. Hi Let's first try 3.5* or better at least expensive price. I'll try that and if i'm rejected i'll then try immediately afterwards for a 3*. If you can do that for me in the same thread, it would help a lot. :) thanks so much! Matt
  9. Hey all, I could use some help here. :) I'm looking for a hotel (3, 3.5, or 4 *) for any of these areas... Chelsea ESB MSG MTW TS If these don't work, I'd be willing to add Downtown-Soho My maximum bid price is $125 per night. Can you help? Thanks! Matt
  10. I thought I'd update everyone in case you were interested... I just got a 4* room at the Sheraton New York Hotel And Towers I bid $210 in the CPS, MTW, TS area. Thanks again for all of the help!! Have you guys heard any good or bad things about this hotel? I'm doing some research now that I know where I'm staying. :)
  11. Hi, I just found a few Hotwire hotels for Oct 7-10th that are in the areas that I'm looking for, and close to my budget. Could you help me find out what the hotels are? Hotel #1: Central Park area. 3.5* boutique, restaurant, high-speed internet $223/night Hotel #2: Empire State Building area. 3* Boutique, restaurant, high-speed internet $239/night Hotel #3: Midtown Central area. 3* Smoke-free, Business center, high speed internet $272/night Any help finding out what these are would be great! (especially that 3.5* in central park) Thanks! (ps. I'll still be trying priceline too)
  12. Well... I just tried again... no luck. I even bumped the max to $265. Do you think I just need to keep trying the same thing each day? Do people typically have more luck with Priceline the closer you get to the date of your stay? Thanks, Matt
  13. Hi, Let's stick with the zones that I did before and do 3.5* or higher. I'll increase my max bid by $10 too. So up to $260. TS ESB CPS MTW MSG Thanks! Matt
  14. Do you know what the 3.5* hotel is that Chelsea is listing? Also - I noticed a "Hell's Kitchen" area that is not currently on this forums' list of Priceline hotel locations in New York. Do you know what hotels are listed there as 3.5* and 4* ? I may want to decide to add that. Or would you recommend against staying in Hell's Kitchen. I don't know what that area is like. Thanks! Matt
  15. Hi, Ok - let's try again, and I'll increase my maximum bid by $10. plan of attack? :) Thanks, Matt
  16. Hi again... No luck. I was not able to get a hotel by using that plan of attack. There were two things that I noticed... 1. you mentioned that there were 4 rebid zones. But when I checked, it looked like there were only 3. It looks like "Brooklyn" now has a 3.5* selection. What were the 4 rebid areas that you were referring to? 2. You wrote MTE in the plan, but that was the one I didn't want to get, so I switched it for MTW. :) What do you suggest I do now?
  17. Hi, I just followed your plan of attack... but again, no luck. Let's reduce the star level to 3.5* or higher. I'd like to get t3.5* or higher for the least expensive price if possible. And let's do the locations... TS MTW ESB MSG CPS (this would be my last option in this level, but I'm fine with adding it) Thanks!
  18. Hi Aaron, Ok - based on your advice, let's go with 4* only. And I'll add MTE to the current list. By doing this, what would your plan of attack be? If I don't get a hotel again, after doing the abovementioned, then I'll do 3.5* with TS, CPS, MTW, ESB Thanks!
  19. Thanks a lot for your suggestion and plan of attack. I just tried it, but I was unsuccessful all the way up to the $250 mark. From your experience, are the 3.5* hotels just about the same in terms of quality as the 4* ones? My main reason for not adding MTE to the list was because I didn't want to get the W hotel in MTE. :) I would be willing to add MTE and try again. OR If you think that the 3.5* hotels are about the same in terms of quality, and I would have better luck... let's do that. Thanks for the help!
  20. Hi, I think I'd be fine with... Midtown West Central Park South Times Square - Theatre District Empire State Building Let's do those 4 areas first. If that doesn't work, then I would be willing to add Midtown East and try again. However, I'd prefer not to get the W Hotel in MTE. So that's my primary reason for not adding it. Thanks
  21. Hi, Let's go with the maximum bid that you mentioned ($250). If we could get a 4* for the pricing that you suggested, I would be happy with that. As far as areas go... I'm not totally familiar with NYC since I haven't been there before, but from what I've read, these areas sound good... Central Park South Midtown West Times Square - Theatre District Do you think that I should add additional areas? Or would these suffice? Thanks!
  22. Hi, Thanks for the reply! Let's go with your suggestion and first try for the 4*. If we aren't able to get that, then let's try to get the least expensive 3.5* or higher. What were your thoughts about the areas that I mentioned and the details about what we're sort of "looking for"? Thanks for your help!
  23. Hey Aaron, Thanks. I just replied to that thread. My bad... we actually weren't able to go on vacation to Naples. Work stuff got in the way. :)
  24. We actually weren't able to go on this vacation due to some work restraints, but thanks so much for your help! Matt
  25. Hey all, This is my first time to New York City, and I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed with all of the hotel possibilities and locations... and I need some help. I'm wanting to get a 3.5 to 4 * hotel in a great location (possibly just outside of Times Square, Theater District, Central Park South, or lower end of Upper East Side). I don't want to be directly smack dab in the middle of Times Square with loads of crazy tourists, but I also don't want to be completely away from a good location either. We will be going to a few shows while we're there, as well as a few of the biggy tourist things. We typically like to hit up smaller food joints during the day. Can you guys help get me a good hotel? I'm willing to do either Priceline bidding using the permutation or getting it from Hotwire, whichever service gives the best hotel at the best value. I don't have a super strict budget since this is my first time to NYC and I'm not totally familiar with the prices for this time of the year. However, I'd prefer to stay in the lower 200's if possible. If paying a little more per night will get me a significantly better hotel, I'd be willing. Again, I'm flexible... but the cheaper I can get a high quality hotel, the better :) (and yes I'm using the Better Bidding links to HOTWIRE and PRICELINE) Thanks for the help! Matt
