  1. Just got a room for $69 per night for two nights at the Intercontinental 5/7/11 to 5/9/11. Did use the PRICELINE link thru Betterbidding. This is a great and informative site!
  2. Thank you for your help. I would need to research this hotel. Other one I am considering is the Crowne Plaza at King of Prussia.
  3. Checked HOTWIRE site, the same offer listed for $60 for this 3* property in King of Prussia. Thank you.
  4. Hi, I would need some help with the ID of this hotel for $60/night April 16th 2011 Amenities: Fitness Center Pool Restuarant Business Center High speed Internet Recommended in 95% of Hotwire Customer reviews. Thanks.
  5. First tried to bid for 4 * hotel , Providence Downtown for $60 10/14/10-10/15/10 - rejected Then added 3.5* hotel for $65. Accepted: Marriott Downtown Providence. I am glad I got this hotel as it is one of the "rare" hotels that offers free parking in downtown.
  6. Made a single bid for $50 on PRICELINE via your link for Valley Forge/King of Prussia 3* hotel. Came up with Scanticon Conference Center Valley Forge.
  7. Today I made a reservation through the Betterbidding link to HOTWIRE for a three night stay at the Hyatt Place, Buckhead 8-19 to 8-22 for $54 per night. Thanks to the hotel listing on this website, I was confident it would be Hyatt Place which is the hotel I wanted. Smoke Free Room Fitness Center Pool HI Speed Internet Business Center Complimentary Breakfast 95% users recommendation.
  8. Found the answer to my own question. Priceline only quarantees room for 2, i.e. can be a single bed. That wouldn't work for my situation.
  9. This is probably an old topic, but I do not know how to search through the numerous posts to find the answer. If I need a room for three persons, could that be a problem since Priceline quarantees room for two persons? If so, Hotwire may be better as you indicate the number of persons that will be in the room.
  10. thank you for your honest post! You are right. At least for the higher rated hotels, you are quaranteed to be hit with hefty parking costs in Buckhead. I have had this experience with W hotel, Intercontinental and Courtyard which I got for decent rates through Hotwire. I don't know about Hyatt Place; they may offer free parking....
  11. Would like to get help with the identity of this 3* Buckhead hotel with smoke free room restaurant business center hi speed internet Recommended in 85 % of Hotwire customer reviews Now they are offering it for $59/night
  12. Thank you for your reply. I had tried at that level and was rejected. up to the price of $40 for a mid sized car. I just checked Hotwire and Hertz, and Hertz is opening the "flood gates" by dropping their rates quite significantly two days out from car pick up date down to $21.5 if you prepay for a mid sized car. Can't go wrong with that!
  13. On Hotwire, price for COMPACT dropped to $51 per day, MIDSIZE $52 per day. What should be a reasonable bid????? as now time is running short!!!!! :)
  14. Right now Hotwire offers rate of $55.95 per day for total of $154 for a two day Compact car rental. What should be a reasonable / smart starting bid and incremental bidding with Priceline? Thanks.
  15. Bid for 3* hotel in Buckhead Atlanta starting from $32 per night. Used added zone rebidding strategy x4; finally got the Courtyard Buckhead Atlanta for $40 per night. Note: Parking is expensive, like a lot of Buckhead hotels in the area. $18 self parking, $21 valet.
  16. Got Intercontinental Buckhead for $79 per night. Amenities: Fitness center, pool, restaurant, business center, internet.
  17. Just now booked a room for $59 per night for three nights at the Sheraton , Clayton, Missouri. 2/13/2010- 2/16/2010. Amenities: non-smoking room, fitness center, pool, restaurant, business center, laundry, hi speed internet access, nearby tennis. Thanks for the info posted on the hotel list. Figured that it is either Crowne Plaza or Sheraton. I suppose that hotel would make you pay for internet access!
  18. Recently got a 4* Buckhead hotel in Atlanta July 8th - 11th Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center It was W Hotel at $119 per night. After I got the bid, there were other rates for a 4* Buckhead hotel at $79 per night at HOTWIRE when I checked on July 6th (closer to check-in dates) for the same period!; not sure if it was the same hotel but I suspected so. In any event you can't go wrong with a 4* hotel in Buckhead at that rate; there are only a handful of 4* hotels in the Buckhead area that you can identify. Has 2 hour free wireless internet in lobby. Daily internet rate at $10.90. The room at W hotel was great. Only downside at this hotel is that parking is only Valet at $30 a night. Couldn't find much alternative parking in the vicinity.
  19. Started bidding for 2 rooms at $50 for 4* hotel, but rejected. Added San Mateo area with rebid for $* hotel at $55.....rejected. Finally thought of adding South San Francisco area , and rebid for 4* hotel at $60.....accepted.
  20. 3* Houston Galleria hotel, 7/30/08 - 7/31/08 listed for $59/nt. amenities: gym, swim, restaurant, laundry, business, internet
  21. 3.5 * SW Houston Sugarland hotel, 7/30/08 - 7/31/08 Amenities listed: Suite, non-smoking, gym, swim, internet, kitchenette for $109 per night. I am suspecting the recently refurbrished Crowne Plaza Suites at 9090 SW Freeway ,the picture of which looked like what used to be an ex Embassy Suite. Any idea it might be another suite hotel? When it lists suite, does it mean the entire hotel is suite? I suppose they wouldn't list "s(uite)" if the hotel has SOME suites. We are a family of five, two adults, 3 kids ages 16-11. I had to list 2 adults and 2 kids in the hotwire search as they won't accept 1 room for 2 adults, 3 kids. If that is really Crowne Plaza suites, they can take up to 6 persons in a unit.
  22. Just booked two rooms at a 4* Galleria area hotel on 7/25/08 for one day stay on 7/28/08. $79 per room. Amenities are gym, restaurant, internet, business center.
  23. I know this is a priceline thread. but I have a hotwire question (should I have posted this under the hotwire threads?) Can you tell which the present listed hotwire 3.5 star hotel (San Juan) is? Near Beach Casino Fitness center Swimming pool Restaurant Business center Hi speed internet Retail: $145 now $129 Tried rebidding yesterday with same strategy up to $100 but not successful. Would retry when it gets closer to checkin date.
  24. Yes, I realized the previous reply to the post about the hotel resort fees that you have to pay upon checkout. What surprised me a bit is that I had assumed that the total cost will be the bidding price + taxes + resort imposed hotel service or resort fees. The additional cost here if one bids the room thru either priceline (and hotwire as well) is that there is also a booking fee charged, seemingly in the order of +/- 9%. Obviously that has to be factored in when one compares the cost of direct hotel booking vs bidded room(no refund prepaid). It was difficult to find out what Priceline or HOTWIRE charges as the booking fee on there websites, as they do not seem to post it. Of course you have to figure that out during the bidding process.
