  1. As a note there is a $10 resort fee per day. Worth it, as there is a 10 minute boat ride to an island with a beach where dolphins are quire common.
  2. As always, thank you for the help. looks like a very nice property. btw: booked through the "barn"
  3. We have a winner and a new property to add to the list. details of bid 1st Bid $50 reject - was counter offered to raise by $14...not! 2nd bid, added zone $53 - reject 3rd bid - added zone $56 accepted - details below 4* Downton - Riverfront Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza 35 West Fifth St. Your Offer Price: $56.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $56.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $15.03 Total Charges: $71.03 Should be better than the Fairfield Inn at $59 a night :-)
  4. Thanks I'll let you know how I make out. Actually, I have an additional re-bid option as my corp. card has a different billing address than my personal card. As FYI, Hotwire has a 3.5* downtown @$77 and 3* Riverfront for $90. Of course, as always 'less is better". Worst case I'll just cheap out by the airport (CVG) as my appointment is in Northern KY.
  5. Looking bidding guidance for 1 night May 5, from previous posts looks like I should start the 4* at $45? If I opt for a 3* in the same zone what should be my strategy?
  6. Done for this trip. have another quick trip to Vegas 5/26-28 and may PL as the boss wants to 'bunk up" should have better luck than last week. soft days before Memorial Day weekend.
  7. Fort Myers Area: Sanibel Captiva zone Bid $76 sanibel - reject - added zone Bid $ 82 Accepted Rack rate $239 Tried last week with no luck, started at my last bid of $76
  8. The Orleans had good size (450 SF) clean rooms, restaurants were OK and reasonable, didn't see the pool, sinlge deck BJ. casino caters to locals so imagine the slots are looser than big strip hotels. definitely a good back-up hotel, certainly could do a lot worse. Cab to the MGM was $8-$10. Staff was very accomodating with toiletries as my luggage was delayed 1 1/2 days. If I can't get the strip this is not a bad back-up option though I ended up spending $40 day on cabs. keep in mind there is nothing in walking distance. It is about 2 mile down Flamingo from the MGM. If you stay there be sure and visit the $$ I left!
  9. The price is pretty tempting and I am only there for 2 nights, so definitely worth considering. I am sure better/cheaper than the boardwalk where my boss wanted me this week. I'll take a look next week after my trip.
  10. 4* Strip & West Rejected 4/13 - 4/16 $67 $72 $77 $82 I was able to re-bid with 72 hours as I used my corp. address, email, cr. card. I wouldn't mind sharing a room at a decent hotel, Boardwalk has some awful reviews on Tripadvisor. A little out of the way but booked the Orleans @ $50 per night, using their best price guarantee + 10% as I found a cheaper rate on Orbitz. Hotel has good reviews and about 2 miles from the MGM where I need to be. better than the Boardwalk 4 sure.
  11. Just a thought, this might be the Hilton, has a Spa, off strip, and Expedia shows 4* had it for $59. Other than that I am clueless ( common occurence). I think San remo would (should) be a 3*
  12. I"ll wait this one out, and maybe try PL later. Hotwire has TI @ $88, Orbitz @ $79, so I could DD and get TI for $70 which is more of a sure thing for the extra $8. have some time as I am 6 weeks out.
  13. Looking at Strip East 4* Casino Rest, pool, Fitness, High Speed, Biz, Golf, Tennis Spa ( when u click amenities) Any idea which property? Westin? Doesn't seem a match Rates look soft that week, also TI @ $88
  14. checked my email confirm and just lists Bonita Springs, no mention of zone like my previous (TPA, Westshore)
  15. I did not print that page, only my confirmation. unfortunately those pages don't stay in my history, just the PL front page.
  16. In PL I searched Naples which gives about 8 zones in the Fort Myers area and only 3 resorts, Marco, Bonita and Sanibel. Selected the Marco & Bonita and went to town. My back-up was the Hilton Marco Island at a web rate of $129 but could not resist that Hyatt in Bonita Springs. As an FYI there is another Hyatt sister property that is not a resort. My only downside is I mght have to bring some nicer clothes.... I will be convincing my friends to check out this web site and PL. Such a plethora of useful info and who doesn't like to save $$$$
  17. Where I failed at Marco last night for $92, we decided Bonita would be OK after checking the Hyatt web Site. For tonights bid I had both Marco & Bonita Resorts. Yes I am so hooked. Also linked through "the barn" Now we'll be bummed to pay $119 at the Best Western on Sanibel so we are re-thinking what to do. The Sundial Resort has so-so reviews. I don't know if I'll be able to use PL for Sanibel
  18. Resort - Marco Island $77 Rejected Bonita Springs @ $87 Rejected Added a zone @ $98 and accepted Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort & Spa Rack rate is $289 per night Touchdown!
  19. Thank you for your promt response My convention is small, may 2,500. I know CA World takes a lot of rooms. I'll post my results
  20. Looking for the best 4* rate possible. My boss, Mr. Cheap-O, has me sharing a room with him at the Boardwalk - I refuse. His answer get your own and pay for it. My trade show is at the MGM. Really don't want to spend more than $70 night so a strategy would be much appreciated. As a back-up I can stay at the Orleans for $40 night. At leat it is clean and cab won't be too bad to the MGM. haven't had a chance to check other rates but will do DD later. Leaving the office but will resume this later tonight. Thanks for your help.
  21. I'll give it another shot this weekend and beyond. I like the back-up plan and perhaps PL will be more friendly as the date draws closer. Prefer Marco but might shift to Naples. I'll keep you abreast of my progress.
  22. It was the Hilton Resort Marco Island. I haven't moved on to Sanibel yet. That will be a separate post/
  23. Hilton Hotels web site $129 per night internet booking. Bid $66 reject Increments of $5 up to $92 all rejected in all areas without resort accommodations Any recommendations for 3* on Marco Island? Thanks very much!
