First bid of $60 for 3.5* was rejected. The site said if I increased my bid by $17, I could rebid immediately. I was bidding for a friend, and she wanted to rebid at $77 - even though I thought I could get it for less by expanding to other neighborhoods! Got it For $77 on the second try. Used PRICELINE Link. I love this site!

I am looking into a hotel in West Palm Beach for Feb 19-23, 2008. I would like to stay in or near the Marriott (on Okeechobee Blvd). On the list for Priceline hotels, I see the Lakes area shows the Marriott and the Sheraton as the only options (both are 3*). Two questions before I bid.... Where is the Sheraton - I can't find it listed anywhere? Is it the same hotel as the Marriott (e.g., the Marriott purchased it)? If so, that leaves only one hotel in the Lakes region that we know of, right? Any other hotels come up for that region that I missed? Thanks for your insight!

Looking at a Hotwire deal for Monday Aug 20, one night at LAX. 3.5* Customer Favorite $62 Shuttle, Pool, Business, Internet ,Fitness, Restaurant, AND LAUNDRY Any ideas on what hotel this is? Also, is says is has a 3.5 rating on trip advisor.

Just got the Sheraton Tarrytown on 8/10-8/12 for $80/night. Bid $65, $70, $75, $80 using SavingsBarn link. Thanks for everyone's advice. We are thrilled!

3.5 stars. My husband wants to avoid the bridge (traffic/toll), so we have not explored the Tarrytown options. But maybe if its cheap enough..... :)

A few updates: I see a $74 hotel on Hotwire in North Bergen County with Fitness, Restaurant, Business Center, Pool, and INTERNET. Any ideas which hotel this is? It seems the Pearl River Hilton has not shown internet before. I made a reservation (through the Better Bidding Link!) at a brand new Hampton Inn in Nanuet ($93 AAA rate). Anyone stayed there? Any feedback? I think I will cancel my backup reservation at the Hilton Pearl River. I bid $63 for a 3* yesterday in Pearl River and Nanuet and got nothing.

Last week, the Hilton was booked - now it has a lot of availability. Maybe a wedding was called off or something. Anyway, I've bid on Priceline thru SavingsBarn from $45-$65 with no luck. At those rates, I would be happy with either the Holiday Inn or Hilton. I made a reservation at the Hilton for $152 (AAA rate). So now I just have to figure out how much I will bid up to given that I might end up with the HI (whose rate is $118 on their site). The Hilton does not seem to be available on Hotwire unless the amenities listed for it have changed? I'll let you know how it plays out.

Actually, I have only been bidding for the Wed and Thurs nights. I just bid $115 and $120 (using the SavingsBarn link!), no luck still. I'll keep you updated. The last bid ($120) took a long time to process. Is that any indication that I might have been "close" or just a glitch in my connection or their site?

Any strategies for getting the Hilton? Crystal Ball???

Pearl River -Orangeburg 3* I am going to be in Nyack, NY August 10-12. We usually stay at the Pearl River Hilton - but it is booked that weekend. Priceline has 3* hotels in Pearl River - Orangeburg. Any idea what the hotel is? Possibly the Holiday Inn? Thanks for any insight!

I bid up to $110 yesterday, but got nothing. I have a reservation at the Marriott for $199 (AAA rate - it's no longer being offered that low). I have to decide how high I am willing to bid given the risks (which hotel, we need to sleep 4). Thanks for the information - I will update this thread when I bid again.

I was planning to make a backup reservation on EasyClickTravel (per this site's suggestion - and using your link!). I can not tell if the Off Record hotel reservations are fully refundable (prior to 24 hours b4 arrival). Do you know if they are? If so, am I told the name of the hotel immediately after I book it? Thanks!

I am interested in staying 8/15-8/18 in Dana Point. Priceline has 4* hotels option, but I haven't seen any posts on winning bids on any 4* in this area. Any experience? Ideas of what hotels they include? Thanks!
