  1. Thanks for the tip. Got mine yesterday and I'm surfing wirelessly now. Belkin Tech Support is really bad. They couldn't figure out how to connect this router up to my existing wired Linksys router. Finally figured it out myself.
  2. Started at 50 and with free rebids got accepted at 75. I was hoping for another 4* in BH but it seems like the Hilton is the only one coming up in the past few months. Your Offer Price: $75.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 2 Subtotal: $150.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $28.46 Total Charges: $178.46
  3. Great hotel!!! Very nice room in the St Augustine section. Have to come back and stay again.
  4. Nice hotel. When I checked in they wouldn't move my room from the pool area to the tower unless I paid $40 extra per night. I tried 1 800 CheckIN and at the front desk but got the same answer. I pulled out a Hyatt upgrade certificate and they honored it. There isn't a Regency floor so room was changed to the 14th floor in the tower. They also gave me and my wife 2 vouchers for breakfast each day and a fruit basket amenity. Self parking is $10 a night.
  5. Saw the Venetian on Hotwire for $125 and thought I try PL for a better deal. Your Offer Price: $99.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 2 Subtotal: $198.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $28.44 Total Charges: $226.44
  6. I have faxed the manager at the hotel asking them to help me out. Hopefully they can grant a refund or at least a credit towards a future stay. I also contacted American Express. They have a policy to help cardholders that are not able to return a purchase. Too bad this doesn't cover services like hotel rooms. My Amex card doesn't have any automatic travel insurance and I am not going to dispute the charge. Looks like my best bet is the hotel mgmt.
  7. Hyatt Regency Pier 66 2301 S.E. 17th St. Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33316 Check in: Mayl 26, 2004 Check out: May 28, 2004 2 Rooms, One Night Subtotal $160.00 Taxes and Service fees: $26.73 Total Charges: $186.73 Started at 55 and with $5 increments finally got accepted at 80.
  8. Boots, What kind of room did you get? I see the 175 rate on their website for my dates and I want to make sure they are the same type of room? What kind of bed and view? Thanks.
  9. Good idea. I will contact them and see what they can do. I am sure I won't be the only guest that was expecting to come over on the catamaran/ferry.
  10. Bad news. :) The ferry that goes from Ft Lauderdale to the Bahamas (www.bahamasferry.com) is not running anymore. I just found out today and they are issuing refunds to all booked passengers. Very odd. They were taking bookings as of last week and now even their 800 number is down. The only other way to the Grand Bahamas is to fly or take the Discovery Cruise. Both options are not viable because of either cost or departure times. I tried calling PL to see if they can do anything but got nowhere. No refunds or cancellations - no exceptions. It looks like I will have to eat these nights. Cheaper to spend 3 days in Florida. If anyone can use my 2 nights at the Sheraton Lucaya for 5/25 -5/27, please contact me.
  11. Update on my bids - I bid 110 and it was countered with 132. I declined the c/o. Instead I traded in some Starwood points to get the Westin for $60. It is a cancellable rate and an upgrade from the Sheraton. The hotel is in the same resort complex so moving shouldn't be that hard. I will keep on trying PL in case some inventory opens up. I spoke with Starwood customer service about my Sheraton reservation (169/night). This was the cheapest cancellable rate on their website. I wanted them to link that room with my PL reservation. Rep told me the 169 rate is for 2 double beds and the PL rooms are for 1 king bed. She said she could link the 2 rooms in her system but that doesn't guarantee anything. The PL room can't be changed to 2 beds and my king room can't be changed to 2 doubles so she thinks I may have to switch rooms anyway. I just might stay with the Westin if I don't have any luck with PL.
  12. Try Jaiya (396 Third Ave near 28th St). Their food is authentic and they customize the spiciness based on your requests not your nationality. The NY Times gave it 3 stars and it has been a Zagat's favorite for years.
  13. Any suggestions on what to bid? I have been trying to get an accepted bid on the last night of my stay May 27-28. I have the 25th-27th locked up at $77/night. I tried extending through PL, but they came back with an offer of 135 which I declined. Starwood.com has inventory for the night in question (159 for Sheraton and 189 for Westin). Hotwire has the Westin for 150. I have a cancellable backup reservation for 169 at the Sheraton. There are no free rebids available and I have been trying multiple accounts for the past several days with no luck. Bids fom 65 to 100 have been rejected. Is inventory low since it is the Thursday before a holiday weekend and I am only booking one night? Do you think more rooms will be released as we get closer to the end of the month?
  14. Had problems getting Best Rate Guarantee claim paid by Hotels.com. Booked 1 room for Ballys in Atlantic City on a Weds for a stay on Sat. 15 minutes after booking with Hotels.com, I found a $10 cheaper rate on a website. Took a screenshot for proof and filled out electronic form. Submitted form but the website doesn't really give a confirmation that form has been sent and received. Did not hear anything for 16 hours and emailed them on Thursday. Automatic reply came back and said they are busy but will usually respond in 24 hours. Didn't hear anything and sent another email on Friday. They finally replied on Saturday saying they never received original request. I sent them email trail but they said that I had to file a claim within 24 hours (which I did). Customer support was not helpful and did not even care to see my screenshot proof. Finally spoke to a manager the following Monday after my stay and explained the situation. They finally credited me the $10 but not the extra hotel tax. I think the credit was just a courtesy since it was only 10 bucks. Not worth the hassle and aggravation.
  15. Any recommendations on which section to request a room? I hear St Augustine is nice but am looking for other suggestions. Are PL rooms limited to a few specifc sections?
  16. Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $83.00 Subtotal: $166.00 Taxes and Service Fees: $28.35 Total Charges for Original Reservation: $194.35 Started at 50 and using rebids got a successful bid at 83. Extended stay 1 night at the same price. Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $83.00 Subtotal: $83.00 Taxes and Service Fees: $17.02 Total Charges for Add. Night Res.: $100.02 How do I figure out what priceline actually paid for the room using the taxes and fees?
  17. Just listing an old succesful bid: Your Offer Price: $60.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $60.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $14.68 Total Charges: $74.68 Last minute trip and bidding was done on the same day about 3 hours before checkin. 1st bid was accepted. I am a Wyndham member but they would not take my acct number at checkin so no welcome amenities. No explicit room upgrade but got a nice corner room on a high floor. Toilet was the strongest and loudest I have ever experienced. Sort of like Old Faithful going off. I was hoping for the Wyndham to get the free Internet access. When I hooked up my laptop, I couldn't get the connection working because my acct number was not tied to my reservation. I called the front desk to add my number and they refused again. I finally spoke to a guest services mgr and he agreed to add my number to the reservation. I told them I wanted the number in the system so I can track my hotel stays. As soon as that was done, hi speed surfing worked like a dream. Didn't use the pricey valet parking as I found metered parking on the street. They have a Shula's steakhouse on site but the prices were outrageous so we ate elsewhere.
  18. Thanks. My bid of 77 for 5/25-5/27 was accepted at the Lucaya Sheraton. The Grand Bahamas only has 2 zones and free rebids are difficult unless you are flexible on which island to stay at. I originally wanted the 25th to 28th but my bid of 70 was rejected. PL came back and countered with 92 which I declined. I changed the dates to 25-27 and bid 60. PL countered with 77 which was accepted. I tried bidding again for just the 27th with a bid of 73. It was rejected with no counteroffer. I tried exteding my reservation for 1 more night at 77 but PL came back with an offer of 135. I will try again in 3 days. When PL counteroffers is that price always accepted?
  19. I have a question about the Our Lucaya hotel in the Grand Bahamas. The hotel is really a Westin and Sheraton sharing the same facilities. When I am bidding on a resort for this location, am I getting the Westin or Sheraton?
  20. This sounds like a great deal. I signed up and will try it tomorrow at the Sea Grill in Rockefeller Center. Does this deal include taxes too? For example, if my total bill 97.65 (90 food + 7.65 tax), do I pay 50 or 57.65?
  21. Thanks for the info. I tried identifying the hotels but there are so many in the area. Usually you can decipher the high end hotels but not in this case. I think something is going on that weekend too as some hotels are sold out. I tried priceline for 3*, 4* and resort in the Scottsdale and Phoenix North areas. All bids rejected from 50 - 85. I will try again when I am allowed to bid again.
  22. I am trying to identify the following 2 hotels found on Hotwire for 3/6-3/8 5* $263 Resort Restaurant(s) Pool(s) Fitness Center Business Center Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby Children's Activities 4* $131 Resort Airport Shuttle Restaurant(s) Pool(s) Fitness Center High-Speed Internet Access Business Center Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby Spa Services I was hoping one was the Westin but that is usually a 4.5* on Hotwire. Thanks in advance for your help
