As of June or July 2006, it's no longer a Double Tree Hotel at Detroit Metro Airport. That hotel is now called The Metropolitan Hotel. I'm not sure if this hotel participate in Priceline. If I'm not mistaken, there's a DoubleTree in Dearborn, but I'm not sure if it participates in Priceline either. I haven't seen any winning bids for these two hotels as of yet.

From what I've read, this is a very busy weekend in South Beach as it hosts the annual Art Deco Festival and the occupancy will be very high. So we figured that it will be almost impossilbe to get something on Priceline for a good price, so we've decided to stay at the Atlantica Hotel & Suites ($74 w/AAA per night). We definetly would like to keep our star rating no lower than a 3* and willing to wait, if that would make a difference. The most we would like to bid for a 3* would be $90-$100 in the South Beach area. We currently have 3 hotels (WinterHaven $138, Courtyard Oceanfront $138 and South Beach Plaza Hotel $129) reserved for back up and have 72 hours prior to arrivial to cancel. It will be 4 of us and we didn't want to pay the above prices (if possible) since it would be 2 rooms needed. We hear that the rooms are small in SoBeach so that's why we thought it would be best to get 2 rooms. "Thanks" for mentioning Hotel Shelley & Greenview, I never heard of these two but the reviews sound great!

For the last few weeks, I have been having problems getting a bid in South Beach or Miami Beach for the weekend of January 14, 2005. I went as high as $81 for a 3*, using the following areas: S. Beach, Miami Beach, Key Biscayne, N. Miami & S.W. Miami. I need a bidding strategy, please help!

My husband and I along with our 2 children stayed at this hotel for 5 nights in August 2002. I called a few days before our arrival to request 2 double beds and to inform them that we would check in late. Arrived approx. 11:00 pm and check in went very well. Friends of ours were to check in the following day, so I asked if we could have adjoining rooms or rooms near by. The clerk was kind enough to block an adjoining room for our friends. We order room service and the food was delicious! The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Rooms are bright, art-deco, with large bathrooms/dressing area. We were placed on the 9th floor overlooking the Miami River. There's a nice small balcony w/2 chairs and a table on each room. The pool was very nice. This hotel is very close to the Port of Miami and is within walking distance of the Bayside Marketplace and the downtown shopping area. We walked to Bayside several times during our stay. Some parts of the downtown area was a little congested because they were filming the movie 'Bad Boys II' during this time. This hotel was fantastic! It was one of the nicest we've ever stayed at from Priceline. You won't be disappointed.
