  1. Headed to san Francisco July 4-6. I know this is a holiday weekend so rates may be high. Trying to decide if I should just book direct through priceline or bid. Looking for a 4 star in union square area. I don't know what the difference between east and west really is. We are in our late 30ies and plan to walk and use public transportation. Trying not to pay more than $200 a night but is that unrealistic? We don't have any specific amenity needs. Any advise us greatly appreciated. And if you think I should bid can you give me some bidding help?
  2. Used the PRICELINE link on betterbidding. Bid French Quarter $40 rejected added rebid zone Garden District $45 ACCEPTED total for three days $165.36
  3. Bid 40 with Downtown Jax zone - Rejected Bid 45 added Amelia Island - rejected Bid 50 added Jax East - accepted Total after tax $127 I used the PRICELINE link from betterbidding!!!
  4. Got 4* in Downtown Nashville for: Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $70.00 Subtotal: $70.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $20.74 Total Charges*: $90.74 I used your bidding advise and the link to PRICELINE to bid. It was at the top end of my price but I wanted a 4 star so it was still cheaper!!! Thanks once again for all your help!
  5. Oops sorry I forgot to mention that. Looks like hotels are a little higher here. I would prefer not to pay more than $75 but am willing to go to $100 if I absolutly have to for the area.
  6. Just got the Hyatt in Downtown St. Louis for $46 a night. I used the Savingsbarn link!!! After taxes and charges for two nights the total was $114.17. Thank you thereuare!! i will be needing some more advice soon!!! Love this site!
  7. Can someone give me some help on how to bid for Downtown St Louis hotel. Would like to pay no more than $75 a night. Didn't know where my rebid zones or what increment to start at for this star level.
  8. Thanks for the feedback. I will write a review when I return. We are not too concerned with the rooms being small because we have full days planned and just want somewhere to shower and lay our heads down to sleep. :) The location seems like it is just what I was looking for according to your reviews.
  9. Started to do the next set of bidding. I used Savingsbarn to link to PRICELINE! Bid: Select 3* UM/CPS... Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $120, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously. And my bid for $120, it was accepted for the Hudson Hotel July 20-23. Anyone know if this hotel is a good location, or anything about it? Thank for all of your help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. I am not discouraged. I just wanted to know if I should keep trying the low ball bid for a while until we up the bid, or should I go ahead and raise it. Just wondering since my trip is 3 months away.
  11. TheRuare gave me a low ball bidding strategy. I was rejected on all of these but I see no harm in you trying them. If you are rejected go look at my post from last week. Theruare gave me a new stratagy starting bids at $110. Here is the starting strategy he gave me: When bidding 3* in NYC you have one re-bid zone. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding. Select 3* UM/CPS... Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $95, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously. Select 3* MTW... Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $95, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously. Select 3* MTE... Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $95, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously. Select 3* UM/CPS and MTW... Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $105, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously. Select 3* UM/CPS and MTE... Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $105, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously. Select 3* UM/CPS and MTW and MTE... Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $115. If rejected don't get discouraged as the above is a bit of lowballing... i do have a plan, so if rejected post back and we'll revise to try again in 24 hours. Good Luck and let us know how it goes.
  12. Everything was rejected! Is it too far out for me to be bidding for a trip in July? Just wondering if I should wait a while before I try to bid again. I used SavingsBarn.com link to place bids!
  13. Just to verify... My rebid zone is upper west side?
  14. I would prefer to pay less for a 3*. We have been to NY several times and stayed in both so we know what to expect. We are in the hotel room so little time that we would rather spend the extra money shopping or doing something fun. Any help in a bidding strategy is greatly appreciated! And I will be sure to use the SavingsBarn.com link to get to priceline.
  15. Can you give me a strategy of bidding? I am focused more on a better rate than location. I am fine with MTE, MTW, or Upper Midtown. Would like to not spend more than $200 TOTAL a night and even less would be great!!!
