First bid of $31 3* Indy (North-Fishers) - rejected 2nd bid of $31 adding in Indy (Northwest) at 3* - rejected 3rd bid of $31 lowering the star rating to 2.5* - accepted Amerisuites of Indianapolis aka Amerisuites/Keystone 9104 Keystone Crossing (right near the chi chi phoo phoo Keystone Fashion mall) $31/day + 8.44/day (taxes+service fees) $78.88 for two nights according to their website the lowest AAA rate (advance pay is $89/night +tax!) Complimentary breakfast, free morning paper, FREE parking, free high speed internet Has a game room, business centre, outdoor seasonal pool.

Initial bid was $36 for 3* in Skokie-Niles-Evenston -rejected added in O'Hare @ $37 still for 3* - rejected for kicks added in Loop-Grant Park @ $38 for 2.5* - rejected for kicks added in Downtown Chicago & North Michigan Ave. @ $39 still at 2.5* - rejected dropped to 2* and lowered the bid to $37 and got Extended Stay Deluxe @ O'Hare Used the link at Savingsbarn.com

After 2 weeks of bids on Priceline topping $120 for the dates in question I discovered that going through www.looptopia.com I was able to score a room at the Palmer House Hilton following the link at the bottom of the page. $99/night. Looptopia is an inaugural cultural festival that spans the night of May11 in the loop and they have arranged a deal. Best thing, just takes a credit card to book and no cancellation fees up to 24 hours in advance.

Started at $34 for 3* (not accepted), lowered it to 2.5* (accepted). Have to admit for only $34/night I'm rather chuffed. If you have the time, it pays to lowball.
