  1. Here also is a helpful area map of Moline, Davenport, Bettendorf, and the Quad City area http://www.visitquadcities.com/cvb2001/maps/#
  2. Just a few afterthoughts about this hotel that I forgot to mention. It also has a nice well equipped exercise room and gift shop. A complimentary USA Today and local paper is delivered to you door on wkday mornings. Internet access is available in the room. We stayed on the 2nd floor. Also, this area map was a great help for me. http://www.visitquadcities.com/cvb2001/maps/#
  3. The Radisson Quad City Plaza Hotel has a large stunning atrium with an abundance of trees and plants. A waterfall cascades between the glass elevators. The rooms surround the beautiful atrium. Every Sunday they have a Jazz Brunch with a festive live band in the restaurant located on the main floor. This hotel overlooks the Mississippi River and is across the street from a large riverboat casino. We requested a river view, which was wonderful to watch the street and river activities below, from our window. There are also rooms with an atrium view (but the other side of the hotel has no view to offer but the parking garage). Our nice sized room had a large sofa couch as well as a king bed and desk. There is a small coffeemaker in the room. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are available in the hotel's restaurant as well as room service. They also serve pizza. There is a bar/lounge, whirlpool, sauna and an indoor pool leading outdoors to a sundeck. There is key card parking on site and across the street at a parking garage with a small one time fee to use either one. At the riverboat casino across the street (easy walking distance) they serve a very reasonably priced buffet for breakfast, lunch or dinner ( it is separate from the smoke and gambling). I thought the $3.95 breakfast buffet with generous made-to-order omelets, and music by a pianist, was a great way to start the day. We truly enjoyed everything about our stay here and are making plans to return with friends. Our only regret is that our room wasn

  6. I had no luck with nearby Quad Cities, so I tried Moline. On the first bid they wanted me to add $7 to my $28 bid. :) (and they would accept nothing less than $7). Knowing I had another zone to rebid, I started over and added Rock Island and upped my bid to $30. Strangely it took a long time (10 min.?) before they accepted my offer. :) $30.00 bid $ 9.07 fees and taxes ------------ $39.07 total
  7. This hotel is conveniently located off Interstate 74 with several hotels, shopping, and restaurants nearby. A new *Bakers Square* is next door. It is a decent hotel with inside entry (hallways) and is 2 levels. It also has an inviting outdoor pool and a free continental breakfast (fresh fruit, cereal, granola bars, wrapped muffins and coffeecake, and coffee/tea/juice). There is a coffeemaker in the room. The hotel would only allow us a 2 double bed room with our Priceline deal. The only other option was a King at an added $16. :) The room was clean. For a 2* it was nice. :)
  8. Hi Michelle, Great price! Congratulations. Where in Hoffman Estates is this hotel at?
  9. 6/7/03 .......... This was for one nite, 2 rooms. I may have gotten it for a bit less but I didn't have the time or patience to do a rebid game. :) Your Offer Price: $35.00 Number of Rooms: 2 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $70.00 Taxes and Service Fees: $14.24 Total Charges: $84.24
  10. 13. 3* Doral Eaglewood Resort (see note below) Itasca Got this on the first bid :) Your Offer Price: $28.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $28.00 Taxes: $4.18 Processing Fee: $5.95 Total Charges: $38.13 *This property was the former Nordic Hills Resort*
  14. I didn't realize that the counter offer was just a suggestion by Priceline. I thought about adding just a few dollars to the original bid, but I wasn't sure, and time was tight. Lesson learned. Sis got a phone quote for the night at the local RED ROOF INN for $69, so I knew this had to be better even at $38 with Priceline. (Much better !) :)
  15. LOL :) this ones for the same sister as the Hyatt last Sunday. She say's her hot water heater is broke and is willing to take a $38 shower :o She's there now and says it's a great hotel. She's really enjoying this bidding game, too. Looks like I overbid by about $6. I'm learning, and it'll be awhile before I take off the training wheels :)
  16. Rejected bid of $30 for a 2* :) ..... they countered suggesting to up it $8. Needing the room for tonite and didn't want to mess with redoing everything and still quite new at this game, I gave in at $38. They upgraded to a 2 1/2*. :) Breakdown $38.00 accepted bid $3.33 taxes $5.95 processing fee $47.28 Total 4/22/03
  17. We bid the evening before we were to arrive so there was a minor delay with check-in because it wasn't in the hotel's system yet. The hotel was pretty much booked (Shriner's convention), so we probably got one of the last rooms available. It was a standard sized room and overlooked the roof top of the hotel, which was not an attractive view. The room was nicely appointed, with a coffee maker and ironing board/iron, and Golden Door toiletries. Our room did NOT have a microwave or refrigerator. The hotel has a nice lobby and has an attractive inviting bar. It also has an indoor pool and a restaurant, that, for some reason was not open on that particular evening. Room service & menu was kind of pricey by my standards. Overall this was a nice hotel and a steal for the price we paid. $36.00 accepted bid $3.15 tax $5.95 service fee $45.10 total
  18. Thereuare, different sister (I have 5), different city (Oakbrook, Il.) different hotel (Hilton) yes, and big bucks conventional. (But I'm impressed that you remembered) This Lisle Hyatt looks great. She's going to love it. Can't even get the Red Roof for that price! I was real happy that she got the Hyatt for her stay.
  19. thereuare, this one I bid for my sister (since I'm the expert now :) ) I'm really enjoying the bidding game. She was impressed with the *win* I got for her for this upcoming Sat/Sun. I'm anxious to know how she likes it, too. Denise
  20. *Hyatt Lisle* first bid of $35 accepted $5.95 processing fee $2.97 fees and taxes (9%) :) $43.92 Total :o Thanks again for the great tutorial, Thereuare :)
  21. This was my first time using Priceline. I was expertly guided through the process by 'thereuare' via IM. I got what I think was a great price. 3/15 to 3/16 Wyndaham Hotel Lisle 3* accepted bid: $36 taxes: $3.15 processing fee: $5.95 Total: $45.10
