  1. Thank you for sharing your result with the board!

It looks like HOTWIRE has re-zoned this hotel.

Can you please confirm that this hotel is located in the Nort MB area.

    Enjoy your stay.

Please use the site's HOTWIRE and PRICELINE links to start future purchases.

    Yellowdog.

It is not listed as North Myrtle Beach, it is listed as Myrtle Beach North. They are two separate zones on Hotwire. Don't know whether its always been that way. North Myrle Beach hotels are now listed as "North Myrtle Beach and Little River". This hotel was listed as "Myrtle Beach North".

  2. Booked one night at the Mainstay Suites in Port St. Lucie, Fla.

    Dates 2/25 to 2/26

Price - $59.00 plus tax and fees.

    2.5 Stars

    Amenities -

    Complimentary Breakfast

    Fitness Center

    Pool

    Business Center

    Laundry

    High Speed Internet

    Golf

    -----------------------------------------------------------

A note about this facility -

It would be great if they didn't discriminate against Hotwire customers. They put you in a "standard" room with two double beds. I am traveling alone, and they would not accomodate my request for a king size bed. The woman at the desk explained that these are the rooms that are given to people who book on Hotwire. Other rooms in this facility are suites with separate living room and bedrooms and kitchens. Instead, I am in a small, dingy room with old furnishings, and older ugly looking bedspreads and curtains. This "standard" room also only has a mini fridge and a small microwave. They told me I could book a King Suite for tomorrow night for $95, directly through the hotel, which I imagine would be much nicer than this room, but, a bit more expensive than the Hotwire Rate.

  3. Went to look up the information. Just returned from a two week Florida trip, so I apologize for posting so late.

The Wave Hotel was actually a 2.5 star. Location - South Beach - Ocean Drive

Amenities: Boutique, Near Beach, Complimentary Breakfast, High Speed Internet Access.

I paid $85 for the room, with tax and fees, it came to $101.76,

    As for a mini-review...

I didn't mind the place at all. Its definitely no more than a 2.5 star. The location is great. If you walk two blocks north, you're starting the true South Beach area, with all the bars and restaurants and the famous crowded beach across the street.

The rooms are fairly small, and so are the bathrooms. The place was at least clean and comfortable.

The complimentary breakfast was pretty good. Only cold foods, but, good juice, muffins, pastries, bagels and cereals.

Overall, I was pleased. Its a great price for the location, and that's really what you're paying for.

  4. Could someone help me identify this resort?

Seems like an incredible deal at $139/night. 4/4/08 to 4/8/08 - two people.

    3.5* Runaway Bay

    amenities

    all inclusive

    resort

    beachfront

    food and beverages included

    ala carte dining

    evening entertainment included

    daily activities included

    complimentary breakfast

one other question - the $139 price - would it include all-inclusive for BOTH people in my party?

    THANKS!!

  5. I'll make it work. This hotel is only right around the corner from the Sheraton, but, some of the reviews I've read are awful.

The main point of my post is that the Hilton was listed as a "Customer Favorite" on Hotwire, but, not on the master list here.

I was suggesting that it be added to the master list that it is possible this hotel could be listed as such. I just wanted to help others on the board.

  6. This is different than the master list on this site.

    I bought a 4* in Toronto - one night stay - 1/19/08 to 1/20/08

    Customer Favorite

    Fitness

    Pool

    Restaurant

    Business Center

    High Speed Internet

According to the master Hotwire list on this site...this is the PERFECT mtch for the Sheraton Centre (the hotel I wanted!)

Instead, I ended up with the Hilton.

Someone needs to update the master Toronto list to include the Hilton as well as the Sheraton Centre as a Customer Favorite.

    Thanks!

  7. Ended up with this hotel for a 2 night stay beginning 9/29/07 and ending 10/1/07

Was hoping to get a 3* downtown, but, it didn't work out.

Started with $100 listing only Montreal...rejected.

Added what I thought was a safe rebid zone, Longueuil, and ended up with this place for $110.

Please take this as a warning if you're going for a downtown 3* in Montreal...you might not want to add this rebid zone, or you may end up with this hotel.

If for some reason you want to stay here...at least now you know its available. I hadn't seen it listed anywhere else on Priceline.com or on betterbidding.com

Tripadvisor.com lists this site as a 2* out of 5, so I'm pretty apprehensive. I'm talking to Priceline as we speak about how there could be such a difference to see if something can be worked out.

As always, I use the links provided by this site to make my travel purchases.

  8. Let me add to this thread and say that you're right.

Things can and do go wrong.

    My story:

I bid on 3* hotel for Montreal 9/29 thru 10/1 (2 nights), since I couldn't find any answers on the reasonable hotwire hotels listed. This is a very busy weekend in Montreal.

I took a look first at the 3* hotels that were available through regular Priceline reservations, and only saw 4 listed...3 in downtown Montreal and one in Laval. I wanted to stay downtown.

I started by bidding on a 3* in Montreal for $100 a night, which didn't seem unreasonable. I believe the Doubletree was listed earlier on Priceline at about $160.

    I was rejected.

I decided to add a rebid zone of Longueuil (because I hadn't seen anything higher than a 2 star listed on priceline, and no listings at all on betterbidding.com)...upped the bid to $110.

I was at first excited to hear that my bid was accepted...

until I scrolled down and found I had purchased the Holiday Inn Longueuil for $110 per night!

This hotel is listed many places for $130, big savings! and, I was hoping to stay downtown.

Both tripadvisor.com and mytravelsite.com list this hotel at 2* out of FIVE. How in the world can Priceline have it at 3 out of 4?!?

I called Priceline to complain, and didn't get any help. I have to try to call again in the morning.

Has anyone ever asked their credit card company to stop payment for fraud with Priceline?? Do I have any recourse??

Other hotel sites do have this listed as 3* out of 5. I just don't know where Priceline gets off calling it 3* out of 4.

This hotel is amazingly not listed at all when you look for Montreal reservations for the same dates.

I even entered "Longueuil, Quebec" in an original search on Priceline, and this hotel STILL does not come up! (3 others in that suburb do)

It almost seems like a trap. Maybe it is...so BEWARE!!!! (hope this saves someone else)

  9. Was this from priceline or HOTWIRE? Please post the details of your win to the board.

You can book it HERE for $153/nite, which is about $5 per nite cheaper than the hotel's own website.

Just to follow-up, I ended up staying at the Red Rock, and booked through their central reservations. The hotel is tremendous, and I would recommend anyone staying there. There is a pesky resort fee, however. I know some people can't stand that.

As for my last stay at the J.W. Marriott, that trip was a company function...so, basically a business trip.

Its hard to compare and contrast the two places...Red Rock's Casino is far better than the J.W.'s...both are tremendous...

and, are only about a 15 minute drive to the strip when traffic is light.

  10. Interesting result...because I hadn't seen this one show up on the board recently.

Was originally going for the Omni Shoreham as another poster got in there for $70 for the exact same dates.

Started at $65 and added re-bid zones up to $80 with no luck.

Closed browser, and started over again. This time going for the JW Marriott. (White House - Downtown)

Started at $65 and added re-bid zones up to $80 with no luck.

Decided to add Dupont Circle back in the mix for another re-bid zone (figuring maybe Omni for 5 bucks more - or JW Mariott for 5 bucks more)

    - and ended up with the Westin Embassy Row for $85 per night.

Not sure if I'm excited about this one because it says the hotel is being renovated and reviews are mixed.

I'll come back and let you all know about the place later.

  11. I stayed at the J.W. Marriott just a few weeks ago, and loved it.

However, this property is not available for a trip I have coming up next weekend, (July 5-9)

I gambled one night at the Red Rock Hotel/Casino which was just down the road, and it looked beautiful.

The reviews online are also tremendous.

I'd like to stay there, but, I haven't seen this particular property on any of the discount travel sites.

The rates I see everywhere (while not bad) are pretty much the same.

Any advice about getting a deal at the Red Rock??

    Thanks in advance!

  12. Please help me identify a 2.5* Hotel in Downtown Toronto East for this weekend - 4/13 to 4/15 - price is only $53 per night on Hotwire!

    Fitness

    Pool

    Restaurant

    Business Center

    Golf

There is also a 3* at the AIRPORT that I can't figure out either. Its price is only $46 per night for the same two nights - 4/13 to 4/15

    Fitness

    Pool

    Restaurant

    Business Center

    Spa

Thanks for your help! Great forum!
