  3. hmm interesting. but when I was on the name-own-price-page and clicked on santa monica, 4* was not an option. but it's confusing cuz it did offer 4* in santa monica in the previous page??!! so anyone tried that before?
  4. hey study that rebid things a little bid, and figure when bidding 4* in Beverly, I'll get the following free rebid zones (:): Beverly Hills - West Hollywood Zone 1 (Z1): Brentwood - Westwood Zone 2 (Z2): Culver City Zone 3 (Z3): Redondo - Manhattan Beaches Zone 4 (Z4): Santa Monica & Marina Del Rey and I figure if I am to bid as the following, I'll get upto 15 free rebids, so I can increment @$2 each time instead of $5: (my undergrad statistic class finally pays off now!!!!) First bid) New bid: B Rebid #1) Rebid screen: B, add Z1 Rebid #2) New bid: B+Z2 Rebid #3) Rebid screen: B+Z2, add Z1 Rebid #4) New bid: B+Z3 Rebid #5) Rebid screen: B+Z3, add Z1 Rebid #6) New bid: B+Z2+Z3 Rebid #7) Rebid screen: B+Z2+Z3, add Z1 Rebid #8 ) New bid: B+Z4 Rebid #9) Rebid screen: B+Z4, add Z1 Rebid #10) New bid: B+Z2+Z4 Rebid #11) Rebid screen: B+Z2+Z4, add Z1 Rebid #12) New bid: B+Z3+Z4 Rebid #13) Rebid screen: B+Z3+Z4, add Z1 Rebid #14) New bid: B+Z2+Z3+Z4 Rebid #15) Rebid screen: B+Z2+Z3+Z4, add Z1
  5. ok.. We are still debating about Westin, but definitely will update the post if we decide to bid. btw anyone knows how to get some cheap show tix.. the O, blue man etc??!! thx!!
  6. I saw people are getting 4* Intercontinental & Mondrian Hotel for $110 between 4/20-24 where hotel's own website showing $395. while for my dates it's showing $325/$325/$305/$305/$305. You think I can get it for <$100? I am willing to bid upto $110 for 4* if necessary. Please advice strategy w/ free rebid zones if any. Thx!! btw anyone knows how much they charge for parking in those 4* in beverly zone? is that a 1 time fee for the whole stay or in/out?
  7. in your opinion, if I want to be able to walk to Sunset Blvd for the nightlife activity, should I just stick w/ the Beverly zone or I should add Brentwood/Westwood for a better chance. You mentioned that I don't have any free rebid in 3* Beverly zone, then what about if I go for 4*? and how should I go about it if I want to shoot for 4* in Beverly zone? THX!!!
  8. ok I guess you are right. We don't want to take the risk and should go ahead w/ the 2 x 4* rooms. We now currently have a backup @ monte carlo @$103 for 2 rooms. I remember I saw a post somewhere saying that they have 4* Westin Casuarina for the same time period for $61/rm/nite. The problem is now I 1st want to try to low ball for 2 x 4* rooms but worry that I might end up getting Westin Casuarina which we don't prefer (i read some reviews about this hotel and it was a mix bag where people give it from 1* to 5*, so I am a little skeptical on this one. not to mention WC is not exactly on the strip) so what is your advice? should I keep my reservation w/ Monte Carlo or I should take the chance?
  9. thx for the fast response!! yup as long as the key/security issue is ok, we are fine w/ that. we'll have our sleeping bags ready or I should say we won't be sleeping much anyway. we just want to get a taste of how a 5* is like. but what's the price difference between 1 room in 5* vs 2 rooms in 4*? should I use a new post if I am to bid for 2 4* rooms? Thx!!
  10. willing to bid up to $100 before tax & fee. 5 nights starting to bid @$85, is it reasonable? or too high/too low? couldn't find anything about free rebid strategy in this zone, any advice on this will be greatly appreciated!!
  11. planning to bid for venetian 5/1/07 to 5/4/07. rates showing on venetian website is $259/nite. thinking of starting w/ $150 and work the way up $5/rebid if necessary. willing to go up to $170 before tax & fee. but do not want to overbid, please advice if this strategy works never stay in venetian before, but believe all their rooms are suites, wonder if 6 of us could squeeze into one room (of course we don;t mind being a little too crowded, just want to experience the 5* hotel) are we going to have a hard time getting through the security since I read other post saying a security would make sure everyone has their keys/ Thx!!
