  1. Sorry about the confusion on dates. It is 06/13-06/16. I thought of staying in NY from 06/13-06/17 and be in DC from 06/18-06/19 - Leave to NY early morning to catch the flight at 4:45. But I do not want to take risk of missing the flight. I have to be at the airport atleast by 2:45 and the travel time between NY and DC would take 6-7 hrs (by car, bus, i wouldn't rely on them), that means I have to leave 6-7 AM, still I don't want to take risk. If the hotels can hold the luggage even for some fee and tip, it would be okay. Let me try the following schedule 06/13 - NY 06/14 Evening - Depart to DC 06/15-06/16 - DC 06/16 Evening - Depart to NY 06/17-08/20 - NY The problem I see above is waste of time. If I have to checkout on 06/14 then I have to do it on or before checkout time 11 AM, that means, I can't do much on that day, same holds good when departing from DC. Can I check out in the morning, keep the luggage in the hotel for a fee or tip, pick up the baggages in the evening and depart to DC? Any suggestions on the above schedule? Thanks
  2. Yes, when I enter the date 06/13-06/15 for washington, dc, it shows up the prices for each hotel. On the right side it shows Name your own price. Below that it shows 'Alternate dates' and shows you can save $65 per night by selecting this date '06/14/2007 to 06/17/2007. Hold you luggage means? I can go the hotel from airport (probably at 10 AM), drop the luggage at the hotel, go out and come back at on or after 3 PM for check-in? Yes, my return flight is from NY from LGA From Detroit to NY - 06/13 - land at 8:45 AM From NY to Detroit - 06/20 - leave at 4:45 PM
  3. For some reason I couldn't get 3* for $70 and 2.5* for $65. If I try priceline for 06/13-06/16 the Resnaissance M hotel shows $399 per night and priceline suggests 06/14-06/17, now the same hotel shows $159 per night - Whopping $250 difference. I think some big conference or something happening and they racked the price due to that. My plan was reach NY 06/13 at 9 AM and depart to Washington from there immediately so that I can finish DC first and then NY. Now if I change my plan to be in NY on 06/13 and depart to DC on 06/14, I have some issues 1. The check-in time is 3 PM for hotels, so I have to be on my own with the luggages from 9 AM to 3PM 2. Would have to book 3 bookings, 06/13 NY, 06/14-06/17 - WDC, 06/17-06/20 - NY again. Can somebody tell me what would be the impact and how do tackle this situation?

  5. Can I use 7 day Unlimited Ride Metro Card in New Jersey? This Path Site says PATH accepts only Single Ride and Pay per View Cards
  6. :) I don't want to be ripped by anybody, that's why I set my budget as $45-$60. I was thinking of not to take car due to parking tickets in the attractions and nuisance trying to locate a parking lot. I thought of taking Bus from NY to Washington, DC. But I am traveling with my parents who won't be able to walk much and I have to drag my baggages from airport to Bus stop and from there to hotel, etc., Which will be pain, so I decided to spend $200 on rental car from 06/13 to 06/20. I am not getting any good deal if I book it only from 06/13 to 06/16 (NY to Washington DC). If I have to shellout $20+ more for parking the $200 rental car per day for 5 days will be another $100 and I can't use the damn thing because of parking in NY and I have to pay commuting for all 4 of us.. Oh man... So, if somebody can give me list of hotels/locations with the following parameters, it would be good. 1. Cheap ($45 - $60) 2. No parking charge or less charge ($10) 3. Nearby bus or Metro stop to avoid walking or hotels offering shuttle to bus or metro 4. Near by major attractions to avoid more commuting charges :o That's all for now. :)
  7. Yes, I know the risk of occupancy with priceline. I am willing to take it. I have another question, do all the hotels in NY or nearby NY charge parking fee like in LA?
  8. Any idea how much approximately would it cost for 4 persons traveling back and forth between the hotel (assume Northern VA) and Washington, DC through bus or metro ? If it is like $20 per day, then I will pay that amount to the hotel and get it nearby and reduce the commute time.
  9. Thanks for the reply. Can you tell me the commuting time to reach the city from the locations you mentioned? I am traveling with my father (65+), mother 55+ and son (14months). As long as I can reach within 30-45 mins and convenient bus stops/metro, I will definitely check it out. TIA
  10. Thanks. I know my budget is low. I decided to take a rental car from Enterprise for $200 for all 7 days. I am looking for 1 room with 2 double beds. I understand that getting a hotel near bus stop or metro will be difficult with my budget. Can you give me list of locations/hotels from most convenient to kind of convenient. I wouldn't go far locations which are not far from bus stops. I am travelling with my father (65+), mother 55+ and my son (14 months), so nearby bus stop or metro would be good. TIA
  11. If traveling to City (4 adults) will cost me more than then difference in staying in hotel near city/subway/bus stop then I would be willing to stay in the city itself. TIA
  12. Yes, as long as it won't be very tiring. I am traveling with my parents. Father - 67, Mother - 55, Wife and Son (14 months). Thanks
  13. Hi, I am reaching New York on 06/13 and going to Washington and coming back to NY on 06/16 and will be there till 06/20. I need a good location where I can easily commute to all the places/attractions in NY. I heard that rental car is not required or will be expensive to park and hindrance to see all places. Please let me know whether it is good to take a rental or car commute via Metro. We are okay to commute for 30-40 mins to reach NY every day. My budget is $45-$60. Thanks
  14. Thanks, I appreciate the inputs. That means I should look into Virginia Forum for bids, am I correct?
  15. I have no idea, I am okay with commuting as long as I can reach the city within 20-25 mins. Thanks
  16. In the title I put 06/13 - 06/20 which is my entire vacation duration, but out of which I want to go to Washington 2-3 days which is 06/13-06/16. 2.5*+ should be okay for me. Budget will be like $45 - $50. Doesn't matter if it is like 20-30 mins travel from the Washington City as long as either good transportation or I can navigate through car easily. Is navigating through Car is a good option in Washington?
  17. I know I should post this question under Washinton, DC forum, but prices are very high in DC. Saw few places in VA are actually very near to Washington and cheaper. Please suggest some good locations from where I can easily commute to Wasington, DC and visit. If the location has good transportation instead of cars. that would be good. If I have to travel 30 mins, it is okay. That is what I did when I went to LA. The dates will be 06/13 - 06/16. Thanks
  18. You mean this hotel? I got it for $48, probably the date/day would have influenced the price.

Anyway good deal.
  20. I saw your review on hotel reviews, and couldn't find bidding details. I googled and found this thread. Please ignore then PM and email. What is the probability of getting Hilton Suites Anaheim-Orange?
  21. Thanks. I am okay to stay as far as 30 mins journey to attractions. But I am concerned about traffic. I guess it would take 30-45 mins from anaheim to universal studios. I am okay with that if traffic permits. What is the best time to go to attractions and avoiding traffic.
  22. remove SeaWorld from the picture to find out nearest location.
  23. I appreciate the updates guys. As of now the attractions I am planning to visit are : (ordered on the importance/priority) SanDiego SeaWorld Universal Studios Universal CityWalk Hollywood Hall of Fame Hollywood Wax Muesuem Grauman's Chinese Theater Hollywood Sign Hollywood Boulevard Los Angeles City Hall Santa Monica Beach Disney Land I put disney land as last one since I don't what would I do there :) I have one year old kid. Is it for adults also? Please suggest any other place which is worth seeing and the best place to stay to see these attractions with out much delay. I am okay with travelling 20 miles as long as I can reach without delay, but after reading the traffic nightmare I want to stay in reachable distance :) and cheaper :o .
  24. Thanks guys. I wouldn't book at Bell Gardens for sure :) I don't see woodland hills in the list of area, I could see only Beverly Hills - West Hollywood
  25. Wow, Extended Stay America for $50, that is awesome deal, I am looking for a hotel with Kitchen. ESA would fit easily, is there anyway I can get it for sure. I know it is a hit/miss, but just wanted to know...
