  1. I did add Zone 2 and increased my bid to $60. They accepted my bid and I got the Hyatt Cityview Hotel! So excited! It's rated #5 best hotels on Tripadvisor in Fort Worth. It looks Beautiful! Thank you so much for helping me with my first win on PRICELINE. This is great! Elizabeth
  2. I just got rejected on my first bid of $52 for a 3 Star hotel. They want me to increase it by $15. I think that is too much for a 3 star. Can someone help me please? I don't know how long I have with PRICELINE to reply to this increase in bid. Elizabeth
  3. I've changed the area to where I want to stay in Fort Worth. When I looked at PRICELINE maps and saw Zone 7 Southwest, then that is a cheaper better option. I see the Hyatt Cityview 3 star, the Courtyard 3 star hotels in that area. I can't seem to locate any other 3 star hotels in that area. I would like the Courtyard Southwest, but I do understand I can't bid on a particular hotel. I'm ready to bid, but wanted guidance on amount to start with for the 3 star that advertises for $135 on their website. Also, can you help me in regards to seeing if I'm missing any other 3 star hotels in that area? Thanks Elizabeth
  4. Yes, I understand that I can't bid on a particuar hotel. Yes, in the 3.5 star rating. I have quick ?. My daughter is going w/ her grandmother on this trip. However, can I place the bid to pay and then just give her my ID and Debit Card to take to the hotel? Thank you Elizabeth
  5. Travel Date October 25th to Fort Worth Texas to attend TCU for one day. Check out date Oct 26th. One Adult, one 17 yr old traveling. We are looking at Downtown Zone #4 with Priceline. We would like the Omni (like someone else got yesterday). Willing to pay $80 range max. I've never bid before even though I've done a lot of reading. I just need a lot of assistance, so we can get to TCU on Monday. Thanks! Elizabeth
  6. I'm looking for the same hotel type 3.5 star on the same date; Oct 25 with a one night stay; 2 people. We are attending the TCU invitation. I've been on this board for several years, and I'm so overwhelmed when it comes to bidding. I've never done it, but want to. Can anyone help me with a 3.5 star hotel in the Downtown area near TCU for this one night date? I've been reading for the past 3 hours and I just want to give up! However, I see 2 people that won hotels in the area that I like. Forgive my frustration. I've read all the "newbie", FAQ boards etc.
  7. I'm traveling with my 2 daughters from June 7th to June 22nd for a workshop at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center. We are looking for a place with a kitchen. I see that the Residence Inn is across the street from the TPAC. I've read mixed reviews. I need to get started on the bidding thing, but hesitant on getting started. I've read all the "getting started folders" etc. I just need some guidance on this long of a stay and what the chances are of staying in 1 place for this many nights...16. I really would like to stay at the $80 range or below if possible. Any advice for this beginner here?? Elizabeth
  8. Booking the Holiday Inn directly is $99 and up. In fact, I'm getting ready to place another bid for Tyler, TX right now, and I will post my results. As far as last weekend, we ended up staying in the Comfort Suites which was AWESOME! We booked it on our own as a "web special" for $89.99. It was a great hotel. We are heading back tomorrow to pick up the kids and need another night's stay in Tyler, TX. Hotwire shows one 2.5 star hotel, and one 2 star hotel available. Elizabeth
  9. I placed another bid yesterday after the 24hr waiting period of $65 and it was rejected for a 3 Star hotel in Tyler, TX which shows as the Holiday Inn. Elizabeth
  10. I wrote a reply to my Tampa stay, but I don't know what you mean when you say to "bump" this thread. Thank you Elizabeth
  11. I just placed my first bid on a 3 star hotel in Tyler, TX for $55, and got the following reply: We're sorry, but we can't accept your offer of $55 for a hotel room in the Tyler, TX area. Your credit card has not been charged for Request Number xxxxxxxxxxx. To try your request again, change one or more items with a check. Can you select additional star levels? 3-Star Upscale 2
  12. This is a follow up to the Tampa stay. We had to cancel out on the Tampa Ballet Workshop due to financial issues. It was going to be way too expensive to stay for 21 nights in that area. I know we will be looking at this hotel for next summer for the same workshop. Hopefully, I will get the "hang of this" and can look at ways of affording long term stays. I appreciate all your help. Elizabeth
  13. Hi I would like to start my bidding process today via Priceline for the Holiday Inn or the 3 Star hotel in Tyler, TX. When I did the hotel check for 3 star in Tyler, TX, Holiday Inn was the only 3 star hotel PL listed. The median is $99. Our dates are this coming Saturday, June 30th for 1 night with a family of 4. The dates are not flexible. Would a good starting bid be $55? If anyone has some advice for a newbie to doing this then your help is greatly appreciated! We also need a rent a car in Tyler, TX for 24 hours. I've never rented a car through PL. National Car Rental shows an average of $23 a day without taxes at the TYR airport. Thank you Elizabeth
  14. This is too cool! We are heading for Pine Cove Camp this weekend, and are wanting help with bidding on the Holiday Inn Hotel on Broadway Avenue. It's the only 3 Star Hotel in Tyler that we usually stay in. Can anyone help me get started with my very first bid with Priceline in the Holiday Inn. When I looked at the Priceline list, this is the only 3 star hotel they list. This is good news, b/c this is where we usually stay the night before dropping the girls off at camp! Thanks to all! Let me know how your kids like Pine Cove Camp, if this is the camp y'all are going to! Elizabeth
  15. Thank you for your quick, helpful reply! What a great board! I've been reading on the board for 3 days now and still feel like a novice...which I am! We are looking for 1 room together. It will be a mother and 2 children age 15 and 12...all girls. I read the links you sent me about Hotwire and splitting bids. When I go to Hotwire, it does not show the Residence Inn. When I chose downtown Tampa, only 2 hotels come up...a 2 star and a 3.5 star. Both of them do not show a full kitchen. We are really wanting a kitchen b/c of the long stay. We can make it for 21 days, and then do another bid for 3 or 4 more days, and take the chance of moving to another hotel. When I went to Priceline and clicked on the downtown Tampa area, it looks like the Marriott Residence Inn shows up as the only 2.5 star hotel to bid on based on this post: Tampa (Downtown) 3* Hyatt Regency 3* Marriott Waterside 3* Wyndham Harbor Island 2.5* Residence Inn If you can help me in anyway possible, it would be so appreciated! My daughter is attending a ballet workshop in the Tampa Performing Arts Center which is down the street from the Residence Inn. If their are condos or something like that, that have a full kitchen then we are open to that as well. Any help is much appreciate to a newbie like our family!
  16. Hi I'm brand new to the board. We are attending at 3.5 week workshop in downtown Tampa this coming June. The Marriott Residence Inn is perfect for our situation. Our stay would be for 24 nights from June 2 until June 27th. I called the manager at the hotel to see if she would work with me for a stay that long. She would only bring it down from $119 to $105 and a 2 bedroom suite to $129. That's over $4000 and a LOT of money to us! Can anyone help us on how to bid on the Residence Inn for maximum $83 a night? Less would be even better. We will have 3 people attending. Thank you!
