I was hoping to win a bid at the Hyatt Place Fort Lauderdale North, a hotel that I am usually able to get on Hotwire for about $59, but was running over $100 for this period.
Began by unsuccessfully bidding 3* Downtown at $45 and added the free zone Fort Lauderdale Airport North at $50, which was also unsuccessful. In the next round of bids, I bid 3* for Downtown at $55 and was upgraded to a 4*.

It is indeed Il Lugano. I decided that may be a good choice - it will also give me a chance to try out the Fort Lauderdale/Broward County public bus service. There are some issues with Il Lugano on TripAdvisor, but, they seem to center mostly around the staff, and, not the accomodations.

Obtained some additional good information about this hotel from www.cruisecritic.com.
At the Miami Airport Marriott I handed the desk clerk my drivers license, my credit card and a folded $20 bill and when they attempted to hand the $20 bill back, I said, "No that is for you, I know that all of your rooms are nice, but, pick one that I would like."
I was assigned, on a Priceline reservation, a very nice Junior Suite with sitting area and small kitchen which was bigger and quieter than the usual room.
Well worth the gratuity, and a nice upgrade for 2 nights.
In the 3rd day of bidding, starting at $45 and adding $1-2 with free rebid zones, I was successful with a bid of $51. On the first 2 days of bidding $45, I was offered a room if I increased the bid by $13, but refused and continued unsuccessfully bidding free rebid zones.
This trip is a pre-cruise stay and I was hoping for the Miami Airport Wyndham or Maimi Airport Marriott, since I have stayed at both hotels and like the facilities at each hotel.

For anyone interested in saving a few dollars on internet at the Miami Airport Marriott, it is one of those hotels (along with the Miami Airport Wyndham) where you can sign onto the internet for free in the lobby. You may then continue to use the internet for free in your room until noon the next day.
