  1. Successful on 1st bid: Your Offer Price: $75.00 Number of Rooms: 2 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $150.00 Taxes and Service Fees: $26.32 Total Charges: $176.32
  2. I didn't really expect this bid to be accepted on my 1st bid and now wish I'd started a little lower. However, when I checked prices on their website, the lowest was $209/night and I'm getting 3 nights for that price. I've stayed here before and loved it so I'm pleased. :) Your Offer Price: $70.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 3 Subtotal: $210.00 Taxes and Service Fees: $33.29 Total Charges: $243.29
  3. This might be a little confusing but I was looking for hotel for pre-cruise and post-cruise for 2 couples flying in on the same day but leaving on different days. I split it into 3 bids. I needed 2 rooms for one night on 9/13; One room for 2 nights on 9/21-22; and one room for one night on 9/21. We ended up at the same hotel for all nights at the same $50 price. The 1st one I started my bid at $45 which was rejected. I refused their offer to add $13 and instead added the free rebid area of the Delta and raised the bid to $50 which was accepted. 2 rooms one night for $100 taxes and service fee $ 17.40 Total $117.40 Fabulous price when their website listed the rate at $200 for that night. $58.70 for each couple The next bid was for one room 2 nights 9/21-22. used the same bidding strategy. They did not off me succes for $13, just told me to change something. I added Delta and raised to $50. Another winner. 1 room 2 nights for $100 taxes and fees $ 17.39 Total $117.39 Website rates for those nights was $180 Final bid was for one room 1 night 9/21 and hoping to get the same hotel but knew I might not. same bidding strategy. Sweet Success! 1 room for 1 night $50 taxes and fees 11.19 Total $61.19 Gee, I hope I like the hotel since we'll be there for 3 nights. I think I really do like Priceline.
  4. like2cruise, Does the $9.08 include taxes and the Priceline fee? I've stayed there before. Nice hotel with wonderful views of the cruise ships coming in and going out, easy access to water taxi and very relaxing walking around the marina looking at all the gigantic yachts. The pool looked nice, too, although we didn't use it. Happy Cruising!
  5. I know this is early for that date but am researching rooms for a group going on a cruise. I've used Priceline before but never Hotwire. I looked today at Hotwire and they had a 3.5 star with amenities listed as restaurant, pool and fitness center. The price was $49 x 4 =196 + taxes and fees of $27.95 =$223.95 ($56/room/night). Could this be Sheraton Suites Plantation? They also had a 2.5 star with amenities listed as suite, fitness center, complimentary breakfast, kitchenette, and golf nearby. Might this be Amerisuites Plantation? And finally they had a 2 star with a pool, breakfast, and self serve laundry for $34. My guess on this is Hampton Plantation. Am I way off base on my guesses? I'm looking at Hotwire instead of Priceline because I want to try and get 7 rooms and hoping to match up amenities to get us at the same hotel. This group is trying to hold costs down so I thought I'd look out of town a little and maybe with a little luck and help from this wonderful board get us into a place with shuttles from airport and to the cruise port. Thanks in advance for your help.
  6. Thanks for the response. I've stayed at Embassy Suites several times pre-cruise and loved it and did win a $75 bid there for this pre-cruise. The front desk staff is friendly and if they do mention the Priceline rate they just smile and comment on the great rate I got. I've never stayed at Marriott Marina, although on their website it looks wonderful, but am wondering how they treat Priceline customers and if I might be able to get a better room and /or treatment by paying the few dollars more. Anyone stayed at Marriott Marina recently through Priceline? I'll let you know my results if I decide to rebid.
  7. Started bid for 3* Downtown Ft. Lauderdale for one night 4/13/03 at $65 (probably should have started a little higher) then added Miramar as free rebid at $75 and bid was not accepted. I made a backup reservation at Ft Lauderdale Marriott Marina at AAA weekend rate that includes breakfast for $99, so if I do bid again in 3 days I don't think I'll bid much higher. Thanks for this great message board :)
