  1. Pet friendly, Boutique hotel, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access Base price on hotwire was $191, Upgraded to King with sofa bed for $210. Otherwise rate was listed at $197 and $216. Resort fee of $29/nt due at check in
  2. Well, I went ahead and booked it, since I was afraid I would lose out on the bed configuration. Got the Westin Grand Central. Happy with that. Though I would have hoped to get cheaper, was afraid that when and if rates dropped, I would not be able to get the king plus sleeper. So we are set! Rate of $210- Checking in Wed Jun 13, checking out Mon Jun 18.
  3. Looking for June 13, 2018 for 5 nights. So am going to have a combo of the higher mid week rate and weekend rate. Know its the tail end of high season, plus it is fathers day weekend. Issue is need a bed choice because it is 3 adult females (myself, sister, and grown daughter) This came up with amenities of Pet friendly, Boutique hotel, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access Can do bed choice of king and sofa bed. IMO, probably better than two full size beds. Figure most likely that it is Westin Grand Central. Comes up on hotwire at $197 (bidding helper tab doesn't indicated bed choice). That price is for a "hotel chooses bed type". If I go in on a hotwire email special that ends today, it comes up $191, and for $210 if I choose the king/sofabed. Site said last person got Intercontinental, but don't think that's likely here. Main question is that hotwire shows resort fee of $29 per night, the Westin grand central website lists a $25 per night resort fee. Is it common for it to be listed higher on hotwire? or could it be another hotel? I can't get a good read on the nightly resort fee for Intercontinental, but it seemed when I won that hotel last summer (which I loved) they had a resort fee of $29
  4. Just wanted to give an update after our trip. Hotel was perfect. Room was extremely clean and well appointed, with attention to detail. You can tell it was recently renovated. Lobby beautiful. Decent size room for NYC. Service was wonderful, housekeeping attentive. Everyone super nice and willing to ensure you enjoy your stay. There is a nice, spacious grocery right across the street from the front door on the corner. Perfect to get drinks, coffee, and snacks so you don't have to break into the minibar. Close to subway. Anyone should be thrilled to get this hotel. I would stay here on every visit, it is that good.
  5. Finally got a great rate and am thrilled to get this recently renovated hotel with a quick walk to subway line 6. Used the better BiddingHelper.com quick quote tool and purchased through it on the full HOTWIRE tab. Offered bed choice so was able to choose a king bed, which was a requirement for my husband and I. Hoped I would get this as the previous poster had gotten it yesterday. AND I got to use the promo code listed on better bidding of 12OFFSUMMER so essentially got the room for $142!! :) Thanks Better Bidding!! Amenities listed: Bed Choice Pet friendly, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Children's activities Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower
  6. Big thing is bed choice for a King (which kind of bumps me out of naming my price on Priceline). Prefer close to subway, somewhere in Grand Central, Rockefeller Center, or Central Park South area. Daughter lives on Upper East side, so convenient to the 4 5 6 or the new part of the Q line. Feel like quality is best at a minimum 4 star hotel. We stayed at Grand Hyatt Grand Central and loved the convenience of the subway as well as the marketplace there. Rooms are decent there too. I have a back up ressie there that is cancellable within 48 hours, but would prefer not to pay their rate currently at $223 for average on the 3 nights. Weekend nights cheaper, goes up on Monday, of course, for the business travelers. Have done hotwire last fall and gotten Millenium Hilton in Wall street, and the hotel was totally fine, got a great view of Brooklyn and a king bed, but just too far from Upper East Side this go round. Ended up with long times on subway or expensive Uber rides when to lazy for subway. I noticed Wall street area tends to be cheaper on hotwire on average. Would like similar to Grand Hyatt or better maybe below $150-$160 (but don't want the trap of a "resort" fee that bumps it up near $200 before taxes such as the presumed Warwick at the start of this post.) If that is unrealistic, let me know.
  7. If its warwick, I will probably pass, I can book similar rate direct... Wish I had seen the MidTown East post, I would have probably tried that, don't see it now :( Would have been fine with Westin (or 4.5 star) at that price. I have time so will keep an eye out for it again.
  8. If I go bidding helper on the easy view tab, I do not see the same pricing? I see one for $160 with these amenities: Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower Clicking on it, it does say that it will charge a resort fee (which adds up to $81.66), but does not offer the bed choice that way....Its important to us to get a king bed Mentioned others had gotten the Warwick
  9. Pulled this for a stay 8/19-8/22. 2 adults business ctr, fitness ctr, internet access, restaurant, self service laundry, smoke free rooms, accessible for visually impaired, accessible for hearing impaired, accessible path of travel. Offers bed choice. When choosing choice, the fee total adds a resort fee to be paid at time of stay. Can choose king bed $162/night Additional resort fee $81.66 Lotte Palace?
  10. Won the Millenium Hilton for 10/21-10/23 for $166 (posted as $168 on HOTWIRE) Got cheaper rate because of hotrate link on better bidding. Used the bidding helper tool and purchased through link on better bidding. Super happy with what I got :) Hope people find this helpful! On Hotwire itself it is lists as a new to hotwire hotel in the world trade center- wall st area. 90% recommended with a "love it" icon with it. Amenities listed on hotwire: Indoor pool fitness pool(s) restaurant business center internet on the BiddingHelper.com tool of this site the full amenities given were: Indoor pool fitness pool(s) restaurant business center internet accessible for visually impaired Accessible for hearing impaired Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Wheelchair accessible Accessible bathroom Accessible parking Roll-in shower
  11. I am not sure what to do. Could you say why lower east side and the hotel would not be your first choice? Budget is a factor. Location not so much as my daughter will be going back and forth to work on subway and not doing the tourist thing. Would it be possible to bid in that price range for better zone/higher star rating? Oh and I am willing to bid Central Park South, Midtown West, Midtown East, Chelsea, Empire State, Times Square, Soho Tribeca 3* or more. Knowing I could take the 3* LES for $145
  12. Posted my wins for the referenced. Did not have a trip to Orlando, can't remember why I ended up not going, it's been 10 years, and I have trouble remembering last week, lol. My hotwire history did not have that trip.
  13. Ended up with 4* The Mirage for March 13 2010
  14. Got this hotel on the first try. Was a beautiful hotel and they were very accommodating to give my daughter and I a room with 2 beds. Recently renovated, great location kitty corner to Carnegie Hall, Subway Metro stop at the corner of hotel less than 100 feet from the front door.
  15. Looking for a decent hotel, but its over Memorial Day (at least the Sunday before). Tried bidding most of lower manhattan areas down to 3 star with no luck. Up to $135/nt. Is that unrealistic? I was able to bid 4* central park south in March for 3 nights at $120 (got Park Central, nice hotel!!). Hotwire seems to not have much below $150. Priceline Express Deals has a PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal of a 3* hotel for the week at $145/nt. Looks to be Holiday Inn Lower East Side? Rating is 8.0, guest favorite, free internet, restaurant, business center, and fitness. Has it ever shown as having bed choice? Should I just go for that? Wait a little bit more? I really don't want to do separate bids and break up the trip, moving hotels mid stay in order to get a better bid price.
  16. Looking at a 4* central strip with following amenities for 3/13-3/18. comes up at $109. resort casino fitness pool restaurant business ctr internet golf nearby tennis nearby spa Also 4.5* central strip for$145 condo studio casino smoke free housekeeping air conditioning fitness pool restaurants business ctr 24 hour desk internet spa Any ideas? Thanks!
  17. Would there be a possibility that this is Extended Stay America? I won that one last year on PRICELINE, and it has those amenities. Kitchenette, pool, golf nearby, internet, and laundry. It was a pretty good hotel. It was on 98 not far from Destin Commons. It was on the other side of 98 from the beach. You would have to probably drive to the public beach on scenic gulf dr (old hwy 98) but it is close there, maybe half to 3/4 mile. Just a thought, but that is about the price range I got last summer (fringe season).
  18. Wish it were a little closer to the beach, but hey, for $39 a night, I'm happy!! We won't be there much anyway. Sounds from reviews they may have updated the hotel in the last year or so with new beds, etc. Plan on spending a lot of time at the beach and exploring the area (Naples, Bonita Springs).
  19. went ahead with the 2.5* in Naples for $39/night for 4/23-4/27 through your HOTWIRE link. Got the La Quinta Inn Airport. So it was identified with breakfast, pool, laundry and internet.
  20. Along with the 3* star in bonita springs, I came up with a 2.5* in Naples. I can't find a match on the list. Says it has breakfast, pool, laundry, and internet. Travel for 4/23-4/27. Came up at $39.
  21. Put in travel dates to Naples, fl for April 23-27. Came up with a 3* bonita springs hotel with complimentary breakfast, laundry, pool, high speed internet, golf and tennis nearby. Came up at $65/night. Says retail is $174. Don't see a match on the list really. Thanks!
  22. Is it possible that it is Crowne Plaza Universal? The crowne plaza website says the hotel has high speed internet. Expedia lists the rates for those dates as 158/night.
  23. Oh by the way, it came up as $70/night for mar 28-apr3, and is rated a best value.
  24. Thank you for your previous help, I didn't read completely that there were additions to the list at the end. Anyway, I am now getting a hotel in universal/sea world area I cannot find on the list exactly. It is rated 4 star with rest, pool, fitness, high spd internet, bus ctr, and laundry icons. I was originally thinking it was Crowne Plaza Universal, but that hotel does not have the internet icon on the better bidding list.
  25. I did a search for rates in orlando/universal/seaworld area. Got a 3 1/2 satr with the floowing icons: restaurants, pool, fitness center, internet connection, business center, tennis nearby, and laundry. It popped up as a best buy, or something like that, for $52/night. Any ideas?
