  1. I need help identifying the following hotel that I am receiving through Hotwire. It does not match any of the hotels listed so far. I will make sure I use the HOTWIRE link when it comes time to booking. Seattle Downtown Pike Place 4 star Restaurant, High-speed internet Feb 12/09 - Feb 13/09 Thanks
  2. I did use the HOTWIRE link. I visit this site often prior to booking on hotwire. No, the SPA icon was not there when I booked. I noticed that it also there now. The price has also changed from $102 to $103. Thanks
  3. Amenities: Pool, High-Speed Internet, Fitness, Restaurant, Business Center. Note that these matched Pan Pacific Vancouver on this website so I was a bit surprised that I got Sutton Place. It seems that the Sutton Place is actually a 4.5 star as per many websites.
  4. Thanks. I do have one more question. If I were to drive from the hotel (Sheraton Meadowlands) to the Hoboken station, how frequently do the trains operate on Saturday and Sundays? Are these trains called the PATH trains? Is there a bus that takes you into the city near the hotel? Thanks again.
  5. Ok, I used Hotwire and booked 3.5-star hotel in Secaucus - Meadowlands (Fitness, Pool, Restaurant, Business, High-Speed Internet, Golf Nearby). As expected, I got Sheraton Meadowlands. I used the HOTWIRE link from this site to book. I'm fine with street parking in the city. We usually get in early in the morning on weekends and always find parking. I'm happy with what we got. The regular price is close to $200, about double of what we paid. Thanks for your help!
  6. Yes, I will have a car and from past experience, I have found that Fort Lee was cheaper than Secaucus. Even though Secaucus is closer to Midtown Manhattan, the Lincoln tunnel was usually congested with traffic even on weekends. The GW bridge on the other hand didn't seem to have the same traffic problems. This may have changed, I do not know. I will also look into the areas that you mentioned. Thanks for all the help so far. I will make sure I use the links when I finally book. Thanks.
  7. The fact that the hotel does not have a fitness facility, does it rule out all of the above mentioned hotels? On the other hand, I did a search on Expedia using the same search criteria (Fort Lee, NJ - Aug 30 - Sept 1) and the only 3.5* hotel that came up was DoubleTree. The only rooms that they had available were smoking, which is worrisome. The fact that Hotwire and Expedia are partners / owned by the same company, does this information provide any additional information about this mysterious hotel? Thanks.
  8. I'm sorry. I will make sure I use it next time. Thanks
  9. BUMP. I posted a conclusion to my previous post. I didn't end up going with Hotwire but booked directly with Holiday Inn Fort Lee GW bridge. Unfortunately, this time this hotel is sold out and labor day weekend seems to be pricer than the last time I was in the NYC area. I will be travelling into the city only on weekends. Does this make a hotel in the Paramus (worse case scenario from what I gather) more acceptable in terms of travel time into the city? Any ideas at all as to what this hotel might be?? Thanks.
  10. Conclusion: I did not end up going with Hotwire for last year's trip. I was too worried that it would be too far. I believe we were commuting on a weekday so there would definitely be traffic congestion. We ended up booking Holiday Inn Fort Lee George Washington bridge. Decent hotel and OK price. $120 per night. Thanks
  11. Hi, Anyone know what this hotel is? 3.5* in Fort Lee - Hackensack ($79 per night) Restaurant, Business Center, High-Speed Internet, Golf Nearby I need 2 rooms for 2 nights - Aug 30th - Sept 1st. Thanks
  12. Congrats! That's a great deal. Every other decent hotel is $300+ per night. Yes, parking is pretty ridiculous in NYC. Sorry, can't help you in this area. I will be going to NYC that weekend too. Staying in Fort Lee, NJ. Have fun.
  13. I received this hotel $79 per night for two rooms (2 ppl per room) from HOTWIRE. Restaurant, Business Center, Internet, Golf Nearby Oct 5th to Oct 8th. Any clue which hotel this is? Also, what is the worst case scenario in terms of distance from the hotel to the GW bridge into NYC? Thanks.
  14. I would also like to know what this Hotwire hotel is. Anyone know? I'm looking for book Oct 5-8th. Thanks
  15. Congrats on your bargain. I have stayed in Fort Lee and it's not bad if you have a car. Just take the west highway down and you'll be in the Times Square area in 15-20 minutes. And it is possible to park in NYC for free on the weekends if you are willing to walk 5-6 blocks. Just stay away from the prime areas.
  16. Do you have a car? I doubt you will get a hotel / inn room for $150 / night. Maybe a hostel but I'm not sure. If you will have a car with you, you should consider NJ or Queens, NY instead. You should be able to find a room for $120-$130 per night. Oh yes, sorry. Regarding Seacaucus, the area is not great but it is reasonably safe. The bus may run infrequently on Sundays, otherwise it is a good choice. Try to find something as close to the bridge as possible. Bon chance
  17. Not well rated in other forums...oh well...we'll see how it is. 1 room(s) @ $116.00 per night x 3 night(s) Taxes, recovery charges, and fees $49.56 Hotel subtotal $348.00 $397.56 = Total Amenities: Full complementary breakfast, restaurant.
