  1. Lowest rate on IHG.com was $143 ($162 net). Tax/fees were another $16/nite. With the BetterBidding's 5% PRICELINE EXPRESS code, I paid a total of $172.58 for TWO nights. Hotel Amenities Business Center Restaurant Airport Shuttle Free Internet Indoor or Outdoor Pool Fitness Center No Smoking Rooms/Facilities I used the BiddingHelper.com link to book.
  2. There were no 3.5* on the pinned list for Hartford - Windsor Area. PRICELINE EXPRESS price was $58 (net $74). Failed bid at $50. Added zone and won bid at $52 ($65 net), saving $9 vs. PRICELINE EXPRESS. I used BB's PRICELINE link to start this booking.
  3. Priceline Express deal was $76 plus tax/fees ($96). Failed bids at $61, $65 and $69 using more zones that only had 2.5*. Won at $71 (net $88), saving ~$8 from PRICELINE EXPRESS deal. Not bad for five minutes' effort. Free Internet In Public Areas Indoor Pool Fitness Center Pets Allowed Restaurant Free parking I use BB's PRICELINE EXPRESS link to start my booking.
  4. Since this is the only 3.5* in downtown New Haven, it was an easy decision. Regular price is $134 plus tax. I paid $104 total inclusive of tax/fees. Amenities Free Internet Bed Choice Business Center Fitness Center Non Smoking Restaurant I used the PRICELINE link on BB to book.
  5. Bidded 4* at $80, $85, $90 and $93 by adding nearby zones. Hot.wire 4* in Financial District was $103 so I decided to buy PRICELINE EXPRESS at $101 when it was offered. Amenities included: Free InternetNon-smokingGymRestaurantHandicapBusiness CenterUsed both Hot.wire and PRICELINE links on this site to get started.
  6. Confirmed for Taksim Square - Istiklal Avenue - Galatasary Lisesi Amenities: Indoor pool(s)Fitness centerPool(s)Restaurant(s)Business centerInternet accessTennis nearbyAccessibilityAccessible path of travelIn-room accessibilityAccessible bathroomAccessible parkingRoll-in showerI used the HOTWIRE link. The new feature makes it easier to see that I am still booking through your site.
  7. Saved about $100 from other booking sites, and over $150 from the Hilton site (non-refundable). 4.5 dot review on Tripadvisor helped narrow down the list to some very nice 5* properties (e.g. Intercontinental, Grand Hyatt, Ritz). Happy with the results. Amenities: Indoor poolInternetRestaurantBusiness serviceTennis nearbyThanks!
  8. Other notes: Hotwire thumbs up rating is 85% though it goes missing occasionally (...gathering reviews...) For these dates, the rate via other booking sites is $118 plus tax for total of $400 (saved $180!!) Self-parking is $13/night; valet is $20/night
  9. $62/nite plus $34.46 tax/fees for total of $220.46. It's a convention hotel but that's fine with me. I used the BB HOTWIRE link to book. Amenities: Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities (self-service) High-Speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Spa Services
  10. I forgot to mention that the Days Inn website lowest price was $130 USD per nite for our dates.
  11. Wanted a hotel within walking distance to the Old Montreal sites. Based upon the reviews, the Days Inn fits the bill. Amenities: Smoke-free, Restaurant, Business Center, High Speed Internet, and Roll In Shower. Total including tax/fees was $175.38 for two nights. Used the HOTWIRE link to book. Thanks.
  12. For reference, HW 3* was $76 plus tax/fees ($97). 95% HW approval rating. First bid of $65 was accepted. Total plus tax/fees $84.61. Tripadvisor rating 4/5 was also shown on HW. Best Western Internet Rate was $131 before tax. Used the PRICELINE link to book. Thanks!
  13. Hotwire 3* was going for $79 plus tax/fees. Priceline had 5 out of 6 active zones of which 2 zones had 3* or higher. Thus, I had 4 bids. First bid of $65 was accepted. Total plus fees was $78.90. Holiday Inn website's lowest price was $130 excluding tax. Nice savings. I used the PRICELINE link on this site. Thanks.
  14. After getting rejected on PL for a 3.5* in the Boston North area at $62, $66 and $70, I decided to go with HW. Interestingly, I used two browsers without signing into HW. In Firefox, I started the process with the better bidding HOTWIRE link each time and got a price of $69 for a 3.5*. In IE, HW gave me a price of $74. Dynamic pricing on Internet sites at work! Trip total = $83.38 ($14.38 tax & fees) Sheraton website prepaid rate is $130 plus tax. Amenities Smoke Free Rooms Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby Free Parking
  15. Hotwire had a 3.5* for $75++ or $94.16. Based upon the amenities, the hotel was likely the Holiday Inn near the Vandy campus where I will be attending a football game. The frugal side of me decided to see if Priceline can do better. Bids for 4* and 3.5* at $60 were rejected, and 3* was accepted. Taxes & fees brought the total to $79.23. Valet parking is $24 so that bumps it over the HI that has free parking. The Doubletree is much closer to all the downtown action so I'm happy with the results, especially when the hotel's web rates start at $170. I used the site's link to start my bidding. Thanks!
  16. I needed another night in the Black Hills area before heading up to NoDak so I looked into Spearfish again for a 2*. Second bid of $45 accepted plus tax fees of $12.91 for a total of $57.91. HoJo's website has a $64 plus $8 tax for a total of $72. This time, I remembered to use this site's PRICELINE link.
  17. In summary, I really wanted a 3* or 2.5* in Rapid City for 6/7/10 - 6/10/10 (3 nights). Since the Black Hills has 6 areas, I was able to use multiple bids for 3* in Rapid City starting at $57 resulting in multiple rejections for 3*/2.5* in all areas up to $73. With one check remaining in resubmitting bids, I decided to try 2* (all areas) at $50 for one day figuring if the hotel was highly rated, I might be able to add days. The winning bid was the Super 8 Motel at $50 plus $13.69 (tax/fees @ 27% ouch!). Super 8 website quoted price was $65 plus tax totaling $72.50, a savings of about $9. Tripadvisor.com has it ranked #3 of #15 with 15 reviews, though that really doesn't increase the thrill of this victory. :) I used this forum's PRICELINE link. Thanks to this forum for the multiple bids tips.
  18. Thanks to the prior wins, my first bid of $45 was accepted. $45 plus $11.98 tax/fee for a total of $56.98. For comparison, Hotwire had a 3.5* for $59, and the lowest price on Sheraton.com was $89 plus tax. I used this forum's PRICELINE link.
  19. I just booked through the HOTWIRE link on this site after determining with a high degree of confidence that it was the Intercontinental (Hotwire's tripadvisor hint of 4/5* and over 420 reviews was the key). Amenities: Fitness Center, Restaurant, Business Center, High Speed Internet Access Did not show Pool nor Customer Favorite. ($139/nite x 2) plus $47.17 tax/fees = $325.17 Best price on the hotel's website was $195/nite plus tax (AAA rate). Thanks!
  20. I am replying from the Mills House's free wireless Internet access. Everything, including the price, suggest that this property is the Mills House. There is very little about this hotel that would suggest that it is a Holiday Inn branded property. Here's my recent post: Charleston Mills House The king room we have is a bit snug for a roll-away, so you definitely should try to get a double. 3.5* is about right for this hotel, and the location is ideal for strolling around the historic district. To access self park, turn right on the narrow street just north of the hotel, $20/night (or $22 for valet). If you enjoy white tablecloth dining, many of the restaurants around the hotel will suit you. If you enjoy a much more casual atmosphere, try the Crab Shack on East Bay Road a couple blocks away. Excellent she crab soup and crab cakes.
  21. After reading about Charleston, I wanted to book a hotel in the historic district. When a 3.5* was offered at $83 (4* at $203 and 2* at $159), I jumped on the deal. Holiday Inn Charleston--Mills House 115 Meeting St. Charleston, SC 29401 (843) 577-2400 - Customer Favorite - Boutique, Pool, Restaurant, Business Center, High Speed Internet, Tennis $83 plus $15.69 tax/fees for a total of $98.69. The lowest rate on the Holiday Inn website was $239 plus tax. On the pinned list, this hotel is listed at 3* but now is offered as a 3.5*. I used the HOTWIRE link on this page to book one day prior to check-in.
  22. Taking a road trip from Central Virginia to Ft. Lauderdale for a cruise, and decided that Melbourne would be a nice place to stop. Holiday Inn Viera Conference Center 8298 North Wickham Road Melbourne, FL, 32940 - Fitness Center - Pool - Restaurant - Business Center - Laundry - High Speed Internet I'm happy with the results since I was looking for a 3* just off I-95. As a conference hotel, it should be a quiet place to stay on a Saturday night. The hotel is just south of the Kennedy Space Center and about 170 miles to Port Everglades. $55 plus $12.32 tax and fees = $67.32 I booked using the HOTWIRE link on this website.
  23. Headed to SA for the Alamo Bowl. 4* hotels on the Riverwalk are going for a hefty price this weekend. Bidded $99 for a 4* ... rejected. Added a second zone (no 4*) and re-bidded $104 ... rejected. Added a third zone (no 4*) and re-bidded $109 ... accepted. Marriott Plaza San Antonio 555 South Alamo St. Subtotal for 3 nights: $327.00 Taxes and fees: $66.70 Total: $393.70 Lowest rates on marriott.com were $149 (prepaid) and $189 (2 day cancellation). I used the PRICELINE bidding tips on this site. Thanks!
  24. Quick feedback: The Adams Mark Indy airport hotel is easily on par with 3.5* business class hotels.
  25. The front desk staff was very friendly, and even looked up our Starwood Preferred Guest membership. Even though the PRICELINE rate was not eligible for SPG points, they gave us a couple happy hour drink couples, plus a bonus fishbowl drawing for a 3rd drink.
