  1. Marriot Marquee versus Hilton Midtown? Given their proximity to each other...other than a possible view of Times Square does anyone have a preference between these 2 hotels? I tried for the Hilton but failed but then got the Marquee on the very first bid. I'm gold with both Hilton and Marriot but Marriot will not put their rewards number in a prepaid (not just priceline but any travel related website). I realize you never get points for a PL stay but Hilton will recognize your status even if you're on a PL NYP prepaid. Does anyone have any experience with being an elite with Marriot but not getting offered the benefits of an Elite when doing NYP ? I'm really disappointed if that is the case...not looking for reward points only a "possible" upgrade! Marriot not letting me use my gold status for possible upgrade....anyone with similar experiences?
  2. YOu did well since I tried last week for the same category only for 1 night 10/4/14 and I started at 151 and worked my way up to 170 over 48 hours and no lucky bid or counter offer. I'm guessing I'm guessing it's Friday the 3rd that is really empty. I ended up with the Marquee for 161 plus tax.
  3. I got it too!!!!! I got the 4th for 161 or 201.69 total. I bid through the PRICELINE link. Can you put it on the Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins...
  4. understood there's no set percentage but is it safe to assume that NYP is going to be lower than what you think is the same express hotel for a given star and location? Here was an instance where I bid up to within 15% of Express Price but lost out. That's why I wanted to make sure the description of the Hilton Midtown was correct. I guess it doesn't matter since I ended up going with what I guessed the hotel was.
  5. I'm looking for one night 10/4/15. If you run it through the app does it come up?
  6. The express deal is now gone after all the helpful advice I got on what I thought was a simple question (i.e. percentage to bid below the express price on NYP). Prior to the offer disappearing I bid 3 more bids up to 170 in MTW for 10/4/14 and the bids were not accepted for a 4*. I'll keep my Waldorf deal unless the Marriot Marque is worth trying for 10/4/14 based on a similar post. I don't see the express deal for 10/4/14 for the MM.
  7. I can't find it on Express deals on my desk top either.. I assume it's a 4 star right? Do you still see it on Express deals on your app? Could it have filled up?
  8. Well the PRICELINE offer says the following: New York Hilton Midtown 8.1 out of 10 from 461 guest reviews New York, NY (Midtown East) Book Now, Save More. Why would PL list call it NY Hilton MIDTOWN if they just meant Hilton NY....As you probably know, the PL list indicates the actual properties. PL express shows a 4 star in MTW with the aforementioned 3 amenities. Still think I'm confusing properties?
  9. the other interesting thing is it had a different rating (7+) on express versus Priceline's "list" (8.1). Is this a tell?
  10. I provided a follow up and I will use your link to make my bid today if you can get me an answer. I really want to stay in Hilton Mid Town and I'm pretty sure it's the express deal but you have better insight than I!
  11. I never ended up bidding. You see, I really wanted the double tree vs. the Raddison since it was close to the R&R Hall of fame so I went on Hilton Honors and used 8000 points and $40 points to get one night. Even though I didn't earn points (which I wouldn't have by bidding) it only costed me 8000 points to save $36 best case (which is about a 1/2 a cent a point which is about the best you can hope for Hilton honors points) so I took the cash and points deal. I'm also gold on Hilton so I got a room upgrade.
  12. As far as the winning bids it appears The Hilton Midtown is MTW but on the Priceline list view it is listed as MTE. Anyone with an opinion as to where it is classified (MTW or MTE?) The reason I ask is I see a MTW express deal has the following amenities: Pets, Business Center and Restaurant and is listed in MTW and a prior post suggested this was the Hilton Midtown. Does anyone have an opinion as to whether this express is Hilton Midtown? Finally, does anyone have a formula for determining your bid when a hotel is on Express. For example, this MTW Express deal is 193 for my date (a Saturday in Oct) whereas someone won the same weekend for 170. I've bid up to 161 and no luck. The Hilton website says $299 so I started at 1/2 (150) plus 1 and worked my way up in $5 increments (151 156 now 161) but no luck. Any advice is appreciated. I really want to get a Hilton since I'm gold. My backup is the Waldorf for 209 plus 32K HHonors points.
  13. depending on when you activate it you might be able to sell the unused attractions on CL. Alternatively, if you have anything on it for the weekend of 4-5 October, I'd consider buying it. Let me know.
  14. It is on BB Priceline Hotel list as a 4*....didn't see it on the Hotwire list. Is it possible to be 4* on one and 3.5* on the other?
  15. DoubleTree always offered free internet....the Radisson is a 4 *. Are you just guessing or do you have any knowledge of Cleveland 3.5 star hotels?
  16. I think it's the doubletree lakeside but I need to be 99%...can anyone help me? hot Rate Hotel Downtown Cleveland area | Show map 90% recommendedOur 3.5-star hotels include: 1 hot Rate room 1 night 1 adultStandard price $122ǂ You save $46 $122ǂ $76 per night Book now Amenities Free Internet Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center Self service laundry Internet access Accessibility •Roll-in shower Reviews Hotwire customer reviews 90%
  17. well it's only $11 at an adjoining property but you don't get in and out privledges....for full in and out priviledges is $30.....ouch...any meters or somethin that allows you to park until say you leave for dinner then come back at say 10 pm and park for the night?
  18. It's cherry blossom week. Started at 86 and worked up in $5 increments...only bid 4 star in DC area...(CC, Crystal, Gtown and Nat Harbor)...I drive so not an issue not being near metro.....maybe an issue with parking....any good cheap places to park?
  19. it is Embassy Suites on 10th street near the convention center...this isn't on the list....maybe a new entry?
  20. Started at $63 and I was only focusing on 3.5 stars in the CapHill/CC area of DC. Got countered for $78 . Keep going to $71 with free rebids...no luck. Next day started at $72 then got it at $76...It was probably $73! Anyway this is NOT in the listing of hotels for this area so it's a new addition...take note! I know it's a new hotel hopefully I'll have a good review!
  21. I read it...Wow...very historic...I'll definately see the ball room and take a dive in the pool! Hopefully I'm on a floor with restored original works!
  22. They more than matched my Marriot Gold Status giving me Platnium level membership...I was able to get a room upgrade to the Historic Tower....From what I understand and read on trip advisor that's the better tower where the better rooms are located...Unfortunately no club level with snacks at this hotel but I will check out the pool!
  23. Got the Intercontinental in river north for 140 plus fees ( for Labor day sat.....When I got to $131 they conterred for 160 and I added a zone and bumped it to 140....and got it for the single Labor day Sat night...went thru the PRICELINE link on this website...Intercontinental is great about upgrading your status if you have status in another program. I really was tempted for the $137 Travelocity deal but after fees this was $10 more and I really wanted river north....if anyone finds out what the top secret hotel is....I'd be really curious...I thought it said boutique but I was mistaken....Travelocity doesn't provide a very good map indicating what LOOP/miracle mile/river North means....I was worried about being at the southern portion of the loop but I'm not even sure what is encompassed by the loop!
