  1. Sorry, I'm on my iPad. Crowe plaza Sheraton, doubletree and embassy suites show up as examples.
  2. I did what you said Aaron but nothing shows up in the area?
  3. Thanks Aaron, I sure will. The dates are 1/14/16 check in date, checking out 1/15/16. It's for a cruise. Thanks.
  4. Forgot to say 1/14- 1/15, 2015. Thanks so much!
  5. Hotwire, 3 star, downtown Miami area, 90 % recommended, favorite, free internet, fitness center, pools, restaurant, business center, self service laundry. Need to book today! Thanks.
  6. Not much info here on Abeline, Texas, so I thought I would report my win. Used the PRICELINE links here of course! Dates of stay: 8/9 to 8/10 (very last minute, relatives meeting us for 1 day, on a cross-country driving trip!) Bid for 3 star, $60 Abeline Mall area, rejected Bid for 3 star, $65 Abeline North, rejected Added 2.5 star, $50, won Fairfield Inn By Marriott Abeline. It seems they have added 1,2,and 2.5 star hotels in addition to the 3 star hotels. It wasn't on the List of Hotels sticky. Thanks for all you do!
  7. Wanted downtown Dallas ONLY. Bid 1: Area Downtown Rating 3.5* Bid 50.00 Rejected Bid 2: Added Grand Prairie South Rating 3.5* Bid 60.00 Rejected Bid 3: Added Garland Rating 3.5* Bid 65.00 Won! Sheraton, downtown, 400 N Olive St (Grand Prairie South and Garland have 2.5, 2 and 1 star rating only) Perfect hotel for the event I am attending at Fair Park Music Hall, but the reviews are iffy!
  8. Just wanted to give a heads up to anyone bidding for the downtown Dallas area. The Hotel Lawrence has been added. Reviews are horrible! A friend won it for $57 for dates of June 14-16 to attend a show at House Of Blues! What a rip off! It is not safe to use Downtown as a rebid zone if you are seeking 2.5 stars or higher. Thanks BetterBidding!
  9. Arrived close to midnight. Parking is expensive, but the valet told us right off, that we could park across the street for 9 dollars a night, as opposed to the 35 per night at the hotel. Both lots are secure and covered so we opted for the lot across the street. Thanks for that tip, Sir! Check in was easy. Sarah wished me a Happy Birthday (now how did she know?) and said that she hoped I felt better (tipped off by my bf during the reservation booking) and told us we had been upgraded to a RiverWalk view. She was a lovely lady, very professional and sweet. The hotel was decorated with a southwest christmas theme and smelled like gingerbread and cedar, all in prefect keeping with the mission style hotel. There is an inner courtyard pool, heated, with a lovely trickling fountain. The elevators are a little on the small side. The halls were quiet and clean. Entering the room I had a birthday card and a YUMMY chocolate rasberry mousse dessert waiting! Nice! Our room was on the 4th floor with a riverwalk view and a shared patio. The trees outside the french doors were sparkling with multicolored lights. Perfect spot because the 4th floor is high enough to avoid all but the loudest pedestrian sounds, and you have a perfect view of the river boats and architecture. The hotel is in a quiet, but by no means deserted area of the walk. The room was nice, sleeper sofa, plenty of chairs, desk, coffee table flat screen tv, mini bar, etc. The water was 6 bucks a bottle, so be aware, the tap water is FINE! Internet is about 9 dollars a night. The bathroom was small, but adequate. I noticed it needed a little regrouting in some areas around the tub, nothing major. Closet was small too, and there were robes provided. The only thing I didn't like was the ac, it was a little loud. It is an easy stroll to eateries, the coyote ugly bar, cvs, mall and starbucks. We also walked to the Villita for breakfast. We will be staying here again! Price was great at 111 per night, direct booking special. .
  10. Sorry about that Aaron. What I ended up doing was direct booking, as the hotel had a special. I did post a review of the hotel at TA. Thank you to all who contributed here, I always use BB's PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links! :)
  11. Yes. there are a few hotels that have direct access to the riverwalk and some that are a block or so away. the walk is actually below street level. which is why i chose HOTWIRE over PRICELINE, there are fewer guesses needed.
  12. Thank you TUA! I was hoping for the OMNI, or the Valencia, in that order. due to the fact that they are on the Riverwalk. I am open to the Gunter, but that was my 3rd choice, however I could change my mind depending on price. Please do tell of the better way to get a deal on this. I usually book with pl, but I definately want a riverwalk property. Again, thanks for your help. Candice

  17. Sorry about that! I had to giggle as I thought of your dad with a pimp cane and some wrap-around sunglasses. :) I wonder if the hotel has handicap/disabled access rooms? I kinda thought it was required. If so, maybe they can get one of those rooms. That said, I wish I was going to be there the same dates, we could swap!
  18. Using the BB PRICELINE link First bid, S70 for 4 star. Downtown area. Rejected. Added 3.5 star, downtown area, bid S75, also rejected. Closed browser, used BB link, started with 3.5 star, downtown, bid $80, accepted. Total with taxes of 18.94 is $90.94. Westin Downtown :) Should I be scared? Oh well, I'll suck it up for 1 night. Date is July 2nd check in, check out July 3rd. Then its back to NYC! I would love to know how anyone gets the Willard Intercontinental, but there is no info about that hotel here. :) I searched!
  19. 1st bid Downtown 4* $40 2nd bid Downtown 3.5* $41 3rd bid Downtown 3* $42 Accepted! Aloft Hotel Total with taxes-$55.54 I am pleased, as I was willing to bid on 2 * (Springhill Suites) just to be downtown. This should be a busy night in the area, John Mayer concert at American Airlines Center! :) Used the BB PRICELINE link, as always.
  20. TYA, thank you! Using the PRICELINE link here, I won Best Western Mission Inn, 1 night, 2 rooms, 42.00 each, total of 110.00. I bid 38.00, 2.5 star, all zones, there's only 1 in LC, the first bid, rejected, second bid 42.00, 2 star, all zones, and won. Mesillagirl, I will definately check out the Mesilla Plaza, I am dropping my 17 year old and 2 friends off at the Warped Tour at the university, so I'll have plenty of "alone" time to peruse the Plaza! Thanks to all! PS: Springhill was totally booked, so I have reservations at LaQuinta, La Avenida Mesilla on the second night. . .
  21. thanks for your answers TYA, no I'm bidding on 2 rooms. Hotwire is an option, but I didn't see it listed here in the HW list. I wanted to keep the one night stay under 100 bucks, as we won't be arriving until 2 am, and it's just a nap base. Thanks for your help.
  22. Hello everyone! I need help getting 2 hotel rooms in Las Cruces, NM on 6/30/09 to 7/1/09. I know there is only 1 area to bid on, there are two 2 stars listed, and one 2.5 hotel listed. I am aiming for the Ramada or the La Quinta Inn. The 2.5 hotel, likely the SpringHill Suites, is out of the way of the area I want to be in, which is near the I-10. So, is there anyway to not have the automatic upgrade to the 2.5 star hotel? Also, because there is only one zone, and I have to change at least one part of my bid, the only option I have after 1 bid is to add another zone! Does anyone know if there are any 1 star hotels in the area? Eek! I would hate to have 3 teenaged girls in a motel-by-the-hour, if you know what I mean! Lol. Sorry this is so long, but I have absolutely NO idea where to go from here! So far, using the link here, I have bid $28. So I guess I have to wait 24 hours? Thanks! Love you guys! :)
  23. Goal was old town area: First bid: $45.00, Abq west area, rejected. Second bid: $47.00, added Resort area, rejected. Third bid: 50.00, added Abq north (which is not listed here), and WON :) Clarion Hotel, Pan Am Parkway, which is almost not even in Albuquerque!!! 2.5 stars???? I don't think so!! OMG! I am so MAD!!!! I would have done better to straight book, as I was trying to get near OLD TOWN!! OH well 121 dollars flushed, cause I AM NOT STAYING THERE!!! Send me a message! Used the PRICELINE link here. . . :) going to kick more rocks now!
  24. Ok, this is a VENT! This morning, I went thru this site to PRICELINE to bid on a hotel room in Vegas. I bid 40 dollars for a 4 star, my stragety is all set, and of course it is declined. . . up pops a screen that says "enter the last 4 digits of your credit card" and of course I do, and then I get "do you want to display the unsecure information" or some such message, and seconds later I get an email "your offer was accepted". To my great surprise the accepted amount is 64 dollars, which I never bid, and I never got the counter offer screen either!!! I am so MAD!!!! This is not the first time priceline has played fast and loose with me either! Oh no. . . last week I bid on a flight to Vegas, to have the offer accepted, and then I get a message saying it has been declined due to a problem with my credit card! I had no problems with the credit card, they were trying to get me to pay more for an offer they had already accepted! I am hereby DONE with Priceline! Has anyone else experienced these problems?
