  1. Help ID 4* NYC, Midtown East, 10/7-10/13/17 Price: $299 85% Recommended Amenities: Complimentary Free Internet Amenities Business centerFitness centerPet friendlyRestaurant(s)Smoke-free rooms Per BB Hotiwire Hotel List I'm guessing The Court-St Giles. Used biddinghelper.com for more details but it would no load Easy View. The hotwire description also suggested a national chain, but I'm unfamiliar with St. Giles as such.
  2. Sorry it should read 5/10-5/12. So 2 nights.
  3. After reviewing calendar of wins, placed first bid of $100 for 2 rooms. Accepted on first try. This time last year I got the Marriott for $90. Don't knowing if I'm lucking out from last minute bidding. Thanks to this site and to all who share their wins. Got an upgrade to Oceanfront last time. Fingers crossed.
  4. Update: Part of my trip is resolved! I broke up my date and went for bidding: 1/1-1/4. I figured after new years dates would be the easy part seeing an earlier win for 115 at the Wellington. Got 140 accepted at Hudson Hotel (3* UM-CPS). Tried this same rate at MTE in an earlier attempt (same dates) but got rejected, so I was surprised it went through. Still, I think I got a bit jumpy and wish now for that 115 rate. But hotels were booking fast from what I heard. Checked Hudson review at Better Bidding and Trip Advisor, so I'm expecting great locations but postage stamp sized rooms, sigh. :) Any advice for 12/27-12/31? This will be the real challenge as I'm expecting many people wanting the New York New Years experience?
  5. My wife are travelling to New York on the above dates. I've read recent posts and have failed to win any bids thus far. Budget: 180. I have bid to as high as 160 thus far with various combinations of rebids as suggested by THEREUARE. All have failed. Star Rating: 3 Star and above. I have not bid for 2* yet. Areas: MTE, MTW, UM-CPS Dates: 12/27/07 - 1/4/07 (I have not tried breaking these dates yet, but will try on next go around) Other Options tried: Quickbook - East Gate Tower (not available). Shall I keep trying or look at other zones (Brooklyn, etc), or New Jersey? What is the closest accessible point in New Jersey, via subway?
