  1. Wow that is a smoking hot deal so far in advance. That is Memorial Day weekend and I also need a hotel in Palm Springs. Hopefully I can get a similar deal.
  2. Decided to stay an extra day. Couldn't add a day to my previous priceline car rental win price so had to rebid. Bid $18 for full size and got Avis. Have to go back to airport which sucks but oh well. Used your PRICELINE link of course! Billing Name: Credit Card: Your Offer Price: $18.00 (per day) Total Rental Days: 1 days Subtotal: $18.00 Taxes and Fees: $16.76 Total Charges: $34.76
  3. Been bidding all week all over the place. Compact, economy, mid-size, etc. Bid on all types and nothing has been accepted. Hotwire has a full size for $27.95. Total $254. I bid $20, $227 with fees and won a full size with Hertz. $27 less than Hotwire. Not one of my best deals, but $30 less than my back up fully refundable compact I had reserved at $257. Saw many compact wins at $8 so I'm somewhat disappointed. Will enjoy the extra comfort of the full size. Used your PRICELINE link as always. Your Offer Price: $20.00 (per day) Total Rental Days: 7 days Subtotal: $140.00 Taxes and Fees: $87.07 Total Charges: $227.07 *Prices are in US dollars
  4. Well our flight was 6 hours delayed so we didn't arrive till 11:30 PM. Front desk said they were out of king rooms so we could have 2 double beds or move up to a suite for an extra fee. Took the 2 doubles. He then asked about parking; self for $12 or valet for $16. He was really pushing the valet. Took the self-park. All said and done, he gave us the suite anyway because they were out of rooms, and gave us valet for $12 since Self Park was already full. Score! Having never stayed at a W Hotel I was a little let down by the room, especially considering we were in a suite. Two rooms, full kitchen, two flat screens. I could see that they were trying to present a kind of urban/hip product but it just came off as dated and tired. All white decor of room needed a good cleaning. Location is perfect being right in the perimeter shopping center with plenty of shops and restaurants but unfortunately that is all this property has going for it. It's hard to complain about a suite for $50 a night, but I probably wouldn't want to stay here again.
  5. Tried $48. Fail. Added Smyrna and accepted $50. Very happy. Special thanks to member Cuppaco for their previous posts, and giving me a very accurate starting point. We will be there at the W Hotel during their stay also. Maybe we will run in to each other! Of course used your PRICELINE link. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $50.00 Subtotal: $100.00 Taxes & Fees: $22.72 Total Charges*: $122.72
  6. Probably the wrong forum to complain about this, but these "resort fees" make me crazy. JUST BUILD IT IN TO THE RATE! With the airlines, at least you have the choice of paying/not paying fees by carrying on luggage, bringing own food etc.
  7. I am also looking for the Venetian on those exact dates. The rest of our group is staying there so the wife says "it's the Venetian or nothing". Please keep us informed on any results and I will do the same. Thanks.
  8. I need a hotel for Elk Grove, CA in April. I have searched but can't find any history for this city. Any help appreciated. Thanks.
  9. Got Hyatt For $85. Bid Monterey $70 rejected Added Pacific Grove $75 rejected Added Marina $80 rejected Added Pacific Grove & Marina $85 won Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $85.00 (USD) Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 2 Room Subtotal: $170.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $29.48 (USD) Total Room Cost: $199.48 (USD) Very happy. Hyatt site quotes $189 per night for same dates. Used your PRICELINE link. Thanks.
  10. Done. I realize I can't target a specific hotel using PRICELINE, but maybe there is a strategy I haven't thought of. Really don't want the motel style, outside entrances of Casa Munras. Thanks. D.C.
  11. Well 7 months later....... Changed gears and ended up going to Maui instead. Got a condo for $85 per night from a private party. The information available on this site helped me greatly in my decision making on this vacation even though I didn't use either Priceline or Hotwire. I like to lurk on these boards to see the trends for planning future vacation destinations. Thanks, D.C.
  12. Would like 3.5* and above for these dates but really don't want Casa Munras as it has mixed reviews and that seems to be the prevailing hotel in this category/price. Looking to keep it below $100 per night. Monterey, Pacific Grove, Seaside, Marina would all work. Any strategies to avoid Casa Munras? Thx.
  13. Looking for Sheraton Waikiki for 8/21-8/26. Going to bid $100.00 as this seems to be the prevailing rate won. Although I wouldn't mind the Marriott, I prefer the Sheraton because it is on the beach side of the street. Is there any way to stack the odds of getting the Sheraton? Also, is there going to be a "resort fee" added to the final price if I get the Sheraton or the Marriott? Thanks in advance.
