I tried 4* at 93, 3.5* at 93, and 3*
Accepted $87. The Express Deal for 3* was $106 per night.
The amenities listed where:
Was having no luck on Priceline (up to $86 for 4 and 3.5*), and they didn't have any express deals above 2.5 less than $120, so I popped over to Hotwire, got Milwaukee Athletic Club for $85 - apparently May 10 was just too full for a good one night deal. Looks like it's a nice location, never been to Milwaukee.
no luck at 63, onward!
No luck at $60 for 4*, will rebid, and keep you posted, no hurry yet, but wanted to keep you all apprised of the prices. And I used your link to PRICELINE :D
I have a conference in Chi over that weekend, so I've been bidding every day for a week, incrementally up about $5, at both 3.5* and 4*
Final bids were
4* at 133
3.5* at 123 - accepted bid - The Silversmith Hotel
I started at 80, 90 and went up about $5 each day.
I tried River north as well at 4* for 130 with no luck.
A quick search shows the same room booked on their website at $149 average per night, so a total savings of $78.
I bid $51 for two rooms 4* Loop/Grant Park, was not accepted.
I rebid $55 for 4* including the section just north of the River. It was accepted for 2 rooms.
Hyatt Regency Chicago - Millennium Park, Loop & Grant Park Area
Can't complain about an extra $5 over what I was looking to spend.
Subtotal: $56.00
Taxes and Service Fees: $14.59
Total Charges*: $70.59
tried 4 star same price, no luck
I read the FAQ - thank you for pointing it out.
As for price, ee are willing to go a bit higher, though, I really don't have an idea of what is on the low end of reasonable at that time of the year (Early May for 5 days). As I was bidding 119, 130 is certainly doable. How much more do you think would be possible (or required) that time of year?
Also, this is our first trip to the city, so if you can recommend a certain part of the island to focus on, that would be fantastic.
Thanks for your help!
Hi, thanks for your help on this site.
My wife and I are going to NYC for the first time, we got good tickets from Seattle to NYC off priceline for $212 each. We're looking to stay in a nicer, but not too expensive hotel while we're there, and I started playing with some prices.
I tried 4 and 3* for MTE, MTS, SoHo, MTW and put in from 89-119$ (before taxes, etc.) and met with no luck.
We know that we're not going for a few more months, so we have plenty of time to secure a place to stay (my brother lives in Park Slope/Brooklyn, but would prefer to stay in the city for our first adventure to Gotham).
If anyone has any suggestions of when would be a good time to look (i.e., closer to May) or a better understanding of what price to expect, any assistance would be much appreciated
Thanks
-Matt
