  1. It all depends on inventory. $69 is going to be hard to beat, especially with May being a pretty busy month for Vegas travel. Never hurts to bid though!
  2. I tend to spend a good portion of my late mornings/early afternoons in Vegas by the fabulous pools. The Westin's pool is just average, not your typical pool. And the Westin does not have the dining options of the larger "Vegas" style places. I love having 7 restaurants AND a food court without having to leave the building. Its all part of the Vegas experience.
  3. Everyone seems to want to avoid the Westin hotel. Is there a way to see what the lowest price is that it has come up? I looked through the threads and never saw anything lower than $89/night at first glance. Just wondering if you kept your bids around $50-60 for this zone if you were more likely to get PH or Luxor. I realize nothing is ever guaranteed with PL but just thinking it might make odds better? Darn Westin ruins the best zone for deals!
  4. Bid again, same result. Used the PRICELINE link. Venetian price keeps coming down, so I'll keep trying.
  5. Now if you could just talk MY brother into paying a bit extra!!! :)
  6. I'm not the moderator but I'll give it a whirl. Start your bid using the PRICELINE link provided by this board. Start bidding with 5* North Strip @ 120 if rejected then, Add free rebid zone 1 and bid @125 if rejected then, Add free rebid zone 2 and bid @130 if rejected then, Add free rebid zone 3 and bid @135 if rejected then, Add free rebid zone 4 and bid @140 if rejected then, Add free rebid zone 5 and bid @145 if rejected then, Add free rebid zone 6 and bid @155 if rejected then, Add free rebid zone 7 and bid @160.
  7. I never called you stupid. But when you put "Venetian" in the subject line it reads as if you are trying to get that, and only that hotel. How much are you willing to spend? I've seen 5* hotels won from as low as $115 to $170. Also check the rates with the hotel directly.
  8. You'll want to read the PRICELINE FAQ. Realize with Priceline you cannot bid on a specific hotel, only certain zones.
  9. Thanks for the heads up! I wish I could bid that high, I think its a STEAL for how nice the place looks and the rave reviews people are giving it. I already have the Palazzo for that Friday night, but the rest of my group (which arrives Saturday) doesnt want to go that high.....
  10. Last two bids (though the PRICELINE link) have had same result -- counter of $162
  11. Used your link today for my bidding of 4 rooms -- the counter offer came down to $162. Seems like its dropping every day.
  12. Oh - thanks for the heads up. I have to admit, its really difficult to support this board. There are way too many links going on in different places and things keep changing. But i'll do my best to keep up, as I love this site.
  13. Got the deal through Travelzoo -- not sure how I could use them and support you? I would if I could -- although now too late. Will keep using the SB link though with my bids.
  14. Oh and I must also point out that my backup is the Monte Carlo which I got through them direct, refundable, at $129/$79/$79. So its about a $96/night average. Very happy with that property at that rate....but if I can get the Palazzo for just a little more, I would. I am also bidding on 4 rooms, as we're going in a group. Unfortunately some in the group dont want to pay more than $120 which I feel is holding us down.
  15. No 5* properties showing on Hotwire The Venetian is $219/night. The Palazzo is $279/$199/$349
  16. I've been bidding up to $120/night for a 5* on the North and South strip zones. I realize its a long shot, but I have time on my side and I saw someone win the Palazzo @ $120/night. So far (over the past two weeks) I have received counter offers of $191, $185 and now $165. I'm hoping the gap gets narrower and narrower. Will continue to post my progress.
  17. There are websites that list all the conventions in down. Do a "google" search and find out -- if its a big convention it could drive up the prices really bad for one or all of your dates.
  18. I'm not the moderator, but personally I wouldnt be bidding that high with all the recent wins at the Palazzo in the $115-170 range. Are prices in general high for your stay? Is there a major convention in town that weekend? If so, you might be out of luck. But if not, you might be better off waiting until closer to your stay.
  19. Won this after being offered the "$25 more" counter offer and "buy it now" for $188. Also given the option to extend my stay, which I just may do.
  20. Thanks HL23 - you were right I won the Palazzo @ $170 - i'll post the win on a new thread
  21. I am bidding for 5/9/08 and bid 5* up to $150. Was receiving a "Buy it now" for $226 and then today got a "Buy it now" for $188 -- is this different than a counter offer?
  22. Thanks -- that was my guess based on the hotel list. Are you from the area? If so, what golf course is around? I looked on a map and couldnt find one in the vacinity.
