1. I started with the PRICELINE link on this site. Bidding for same-day check-in, I started with $49, then $60. That was unsuccessful, so I used PRICELINE EXPRESS and landed the Best Western.
2. I ended up negotiating the same price for a Wyndham Microtel in the same town. It's a step down (stars), but at least I didn't have to pay MORE for a lower-star hotel. It was ok; spartan, but clean. I did use the HOTWIRE link on this site for all my searches. This site is awesome, thanks!
3. Sorry about the delay in this post. This hotel room was purchased on 2/14/2013 for $68 at the Hilton Ocala/Silvers Springs. Amenities: Free Parking Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby When I called the hotel the day before our arrival, the hotel staff informed me that their air conditioning system was broken and that Hotwire (and Priceline) were giving refunds. I waited until early afternoon on check-in day just in case the system had been repaired. No such luck. I ended up getting a refund, but was stuck without a great deal and had to search for a room in a hurry. (Hotwire did not have anything close in price at that time)
4. I booked this one today for same day check-in (using the HOTWIRE link here). I pretty much expected the Clarion based on the amenities. The best Clarion price I found was $69. Amenities listed: Free Parking Free Internet Fitness Center Pool(s) Recommended in 75% of Hotwire customer reviews. I booked this for some friends. So far, so good. Their reports are vague, but positive.
5. I crept up to this amount using multiple re-bids. This was my absolute max I was going to bid before trying again after the wait period. The reviews I've seen aren't stellar. I find it annoying when some higher level hotels up-charge and nickel & dime everything. It's still a deal, great location for me, and only for one night. (I used the PRICELINE link here, of course.)
6. I am still interested, if you want to answer after the check-in I listed (11/10/2011) because I may get a room for just one night, 11/13-11/14. Thanks, again!
7. Hello, I couldn't find a match on the forum. I'm asking you all in case I missed something. Thur., Nov. 10 - Nov. 14, two adults O'Hare Intl Airport ORD North area hotel. 3*, $60.00 and the following amenities: Airport Shuttle Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities (self-service) High-Speed Internet Access Golf Nearby I was hoping to find the Hilton Garden Inn for an event, or even the Courtyard next door, but it doesn't appear to be those (?). Thanks for any help!
8. I ended up not buying this 3.5* hotel room from the original post. It was for someone else who wanted to be in a particular hotel where co-workers were staying. This site is great and I always start and complete my searches and purchases through the links on this board. Thanks!
9. Got this after first trying for 4*. I was tired and 'forgot' to bid for 3.5*. 3* Wyndham Garden Boca $36. $47.49 including the fees.
10. A search for May 9 - May 12 shows a 3.5* for $63 and the following amenities. Smoke-free Rooms Airport Shuttle Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Tennis Nearby I'm wondering if the Hilton has returned to the 3.5* status. It has 100% non-smoking rooms. The results are the same with 2 adults only and with 2 adults, 2 children. Thanks!
11. MichaelEpstein: Did you chance it? Was this actually Embassy Suites? I'd love to know. Thanks!
12. I got the Sheraton Convention Center, Myrtle Beach through HOTWIRE on 03/19/2009 for May 26-29, 2009. With plenty of time to shop, I was a bit hasty and grabbed these dates on Hotwire before I tried Priceline. If I could do it again, I'd research better and try PRICELINE first. Still I'm happy with the deal. The best offer I found was the Sheraton website offering "half-off" their rates which would have been $99/night. 4* Hotel Myrtle Beach $55..5/26-5/29 Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-speed Internet Access I'm not sure where this post should go but I wanted to share and I used the HOTWIRE link here, too.
