  2. One adult and one child. Will arrive SoCal on 3/23 and plan to spend two nights near Disneyland and one night with friends. Would prefer to spend nights 3/24 and 3/25 near the resort, but would also consider nights of 3/23 and 3/24. Prefer to be within walking distance. A 3.5* would be great.
  3. I'd like to stay in Ashland tonight 3/20/2009. I'm interested in finding two comfortable rooms on PRICELINE and hopefully snag a much better price than HOTWIRE's offer. Any suggestions?
  4. I'm also interested in Ashland staying tonight 3/20/2009. I'd like to get two rooms on PRICELINE and hopefully snag a much better price than HOTWIRE's offer. Any suggestions?
  5. I need to stay one night in New Orleans, July 26-27. Prefer the French Quarter. Hotwire has a listing that's 3* with pool, high-speed internet access, and restaurant. I'm wondering if it's the Bourbon Orleans. I noticed that the board has been quiet, understandably. Not sure if the hotel list is current. Any input greatly appreciated.
  6. I neglected to mention that the hotel was the 3* Hilton Seattle Airport & Conference Center. Regrettably, I forgot to begin my second round of bidding on Priceline through savingsbarn.com. Sorry about that.
  7. Oh yeah, I get it now. So I went back to Priceline and continued where I left-off: added re-bid zone... Bid $45, rejected and added re-bid zone... Bid $48, rejected.
  8. Okay. I gave it a try: Selected 3* Airport... Bid $35, rejected and added re-bid zone... Bid $38, rejected and added re-bid zone... Bid $40, rejected and added re-bid zone... Bid $43, rejected and out of viable re-bid zones. Guess I'll try again tomorrow. Thanks for your help and further advice.
  9. I'd be happy with one of the 3* establishments that people have been getting for around $55.
  10. Would someone kindly suggest a bidding strategy for a hotel near the airport, prefereably with a 24-hour shuttle, for the night of 07/15/2006? Greatly appreciated!
  11. Two nights 1st Bid - 2.5* Ottawa DT @ $38 2nd Bid - 2.5* added HULL @ $44 = Accepted at Courtyard Marriott ======= Check-In Date: Fri, Jan 7, 2005 Check-In Time: After 03:00 PM Check-Out Date: Sun, Jan 9, 2005 Check-Out Time: 12:00 PM Subtotal: $88.00 (US dollars) Taxes & Service Fees: $15.89 (US dollars) Total Charges: $103.89 (US dollars) Ottawa 350 Dalhousie Street Ottawa, Ontario K1N 7E9 613-241-1000 ======= Les Suites wasn't available, even though it appeared on Hotwire. Thought I'd give Priceline a try with the vain hope of getting Les Suites. I'm happy with the Courtyard Marriott. Thanks for your posts, MJRBIM!
  12. Thanks for the suggestions. I did both things and tried again. Same result. How frustrating!
  13. Hey Gang: Is anyone else having trouble with Hotwire? I've been trying for over 24 hours to book 2.5* suite hotel in Ottawa (Les Suites). But after pressing the big green button "Purchase" button, I continue to get the following message: "We're sorry, but the itinerary you selected is no longer available. Your card has not been charged. We apologize for the inconvenience."
  14. Comrades, Thanks for all of your help. Unfortunately, the Rideau Canal Skateway is closed today, due to poor weather conditions. I'll try to get Les Suites again later in the month, when it's good and cold!
  15. Tried MJRBIM's method: Offered $38 for 2.5* in downtown Ottawa. Offer refused. Added Hull and increased offer to $44. Offer refused again. We'd like to stay in the downtown area, but Hull would be acceptable. East and West areas are not acceptable. Thinking about trying Hotwire, but the properties offered don't match the descriptions in the Canda Hotwire hotels list very well.
  16. We decided to try for the Westin instead. Based on the amenities described in the Hotwire Canada hotel list, we got it! In the future, I will try for the Sheraton, it's a nicer property in a better location. Hotel Details: 1 room(s), 2 night(s) The Westin Harbour Castle 1 Harbour Square Toronto, ON M5J 1A6 Canada (416) 869-1600 Check-in: Sat, Oct 9, 2004 Check-out: Mon, Oct 11, 2004 Hotel Quality: 4-star Upscale 1 room(s) @ $82.00 per night x 2 night(s) $164.00 Taxes and fees: $28.95 Hotel Subtotal: $192.95 Total Price: $192.95
  17. Hi, We really want Les Suites in downtown Ottawa for New Year's Eve so that we can go skating on the Rideau Canal. However, Les Suites is not available for that date, so we'd like to get something else nearby, prefereably withing walking distance to the canal. Can someone suggest a Priceline strategy? Your help is appreciated. Especially interested to hear from MJRBIM or thereyourare. Cheers, sooperdad
  18. Last year I got two nights at the Toronto (downtown) Sheraton Centre and the family loved it. I'd like to book it again this coming weekend. Does anyone know if Hotwire's "Customer Favorite" for Downtown Toronto is still the Sheraton Centre? Thanks for your help! sooperdad
  19. The hotel room and amenities were very nice. Decidedly nicer, in fact, than the Hilton across the street. The room was large, with modern decor. Very comfortable bed. The pool facility was large and clean, with plenty of towels available, plus life jackets for younger kids. A nice fitness center. We were very pleased...
  20. All indications were that this "customer favorite" was the Sheraton, based on prior BetterBidding posts. And voila! ***** HOTEL ITINERARY ***** Location: Toronto, Canada City Area: Downtown Toronto Hotel Quality: 3.5-star Distinctive Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel 123 Queen Street West Toronto, ON M5H 2M9 Canada (416) 361-1000 Check-in Date: Fri, Dec 26, 2003 Check-out Date: Sun, Dec 28, 2003 Number Of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 2 Price per night: $60.00 Subtotal: $120.00 Total Taxes and Booking Fees: $22.95 Total: $142.95 Date Purchased: Dec 24, 2003
