  1. Initial bid of $62 was accepted... :) Apologies - I normally always use the forum link to PRICELINE, but this time I forgot - sorry... Thanks to others who posted some recent Heathrow bids - great guidance as to what bid level might work! Thanks Mike
  2. Hmm... not having much luck this time I increased my bid last night to $169 for 4* for Downtown or Granville - bid rejected, without even a counter offer... :) At the same time, I receive an email "bid alert" from PL, saying that somebody just had a bid of $125 accepted for 4* in Downtown... However, the email doesn't mention any dates, so I'm assuming that it could be later in the month ? In the end, I need a hotel for next few night so just booked LE SOLEIL directly for $202 per night... :) Guess the lesson I learned is that I should have started the bidding process a week ago ? Only problem, is that I only decided on Vancouver a few days ago... Mike
  3. Hi So just to clarify - I did not receive a counter offer, even when I bid at $141 and added the Granville area. Would like to keep it $165 max - Downtown is preference, but Granville would prob be ok Would you suggest maybe adding 3.5* to the Downtown mix, or just rebidding at a slightly higher rate after 24 hours ? By the way, I am using the forum PRICELINE link. Thanks Mike
  4. Hi Is there something going on in Vancouver this weekend that makes it particularly expensive ? Based on a few recent successful bids, I tried $129 per night for 4* in Downtown Vancouver - unsuccessful Added "Granville Entertainment " area and increased my bid to $141 per night - still unsuccessful... Any thoughts/advice ? Thanks Mike
  5. Hi Thanks for the info on the board. I used the PRICELINE link. Wanted a 4* hotel in the Waikiki area (Beach, Marina or City Central) Started with just Area 7 (Waikiki Beach) at a bid of $106 - bid was rejected though the screen mentioned that I could bid again straight away, if I increased my bid by $25 to $131 per night. I declined their kind offer and made another immediate bid by adding Area 9 (Waikiki Marina) and increasing my bid to $116 - my bid was accepted!! Seems like a pretty good deal ? I am bidding 7 days before leaving. Thanks Mike
  6. :) Very happy with this Initially bid $59/night - It came back with a counteroffer of $76/night which was fine with me If no counteroffer I was planning to extend search to 3* hotels This is my second try at Priceline after a $58 stay at London Heathrow last week - this is becoming addictive...
  7. First time bid on priceline - $58 was accepted on first bid - seems pretty good compared with other rates at LHR Figured I could not go wrong if all I'm looking for is one night at the airport...
