  13. $14 for Mid-Size (Budget Rent-A-Car), Dallas Love Field, Saturday Feb 11 - Sunday Feb 12. Failed at $14 Standard, then won $14 Mid-Size. My usual bidding strategy is to check the priceline car rates for the brand name companies, and bid between 20%- 40% off, starting at Standard, and bidding down a level with the same price. I won a bid for a Dallas hotel, and there is an offer for car rental at the bottom that is already cheaper than the regular rates. Those discounted rates were $16 for Economy, and $17 for Economy to Standard. The priceline regular published rates were $18 Economy and Compact, $19 Midsize, and $18 Standard. If I marked down $40 percent, that would be a bidding price of $11, but since the discounted one was already $16, I tried just a little lower. I rushed this one. Since I have a few more days to try, I should have tried $11 or $12, but I guess I just used $14.
  14. Bid $36 for 3.5* for Dallas Park Central and won first try. Crowne Plaza Suites. I've won this at $35 and $34 in the past few years.
  15. Convention week, so usually packed and busy. I've won bids for really cheap in the past, but also sometimes couldn't even win... since this is last minute, I decided to bid fairly high. I bid $90 for 4* as first bid for Chicago Millennium Park-Loop-Grant Park and won Hyatt Regency Chicago, which is listed at $299 per night. Not bad.
  16. Lowest listed price for Economy on Priceline.com was $18 I usually start at 40% off, which was $11, but I just added another dollar to be safe. Premium @ $12 - Failed Full @ $12 - Failed Standard @ $12 - Failed Mid-Size @ $12 - Failed Compact @ $12 - Failed Economy @ $12 - SUCCESS! Don't know what factors caused that.

  21. First Bid $59. Offered free rebid of $75. Rejected this and used a free rebid zone of Aurora because there are no 4* hotels in the area. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $69.00 Subtotal: $207.00 Taxes & Fees: $37.77 Total Charges*: $244.77 Sheraton rates are $152 per night. Total $524. I saved over 50%.

  24. For San Jose, most of the departing flights have 2 stops, and practically all the return flights are redeyes. I'm confused why there is no option to rebid with redeye for San Jose. American, United, and Delta are the lowest prices for San Jose. I don't mind the redeye for the return flight, but I don't want redeye for the departing. SFO shows some redeye for the departing, so we would lose 1 day of vacation. Thanks.
  25. Having trouble and might just have to book it at retail price ~ $580 + $70tax = $650 Fly from Aug 09 - Aug 16, pretty expensive right now. Rebid many many times using different city method... However, I noticed that all the retail flights for SJC are redeye, and those are the ones I want, but priceline isn't giving me the option to rebid with Redeye, only for SFO. Any advice?
