  1. $50 - 1/13/07 thru 1/14/07 (1 night) Hotel Name: Hyatt Regency Chicago 151 East Wacker Drive Chicago, Illinois 60601 312-565-1234 Your Offer Price: $50.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $50.00 Taxes and Service Fees: $15.09 Total Charges*: $65.09 Don't know what parking will cost... Think Valet is $41 for the day. Need PL for parking. Just running up to the city for the night for a good dinner and some quick shopping. Threw in a bid late on Friday afternoon after getting a dinner reservation. Didn't think the price would go since the Bears have a playoff game in town on Sunday. SC
  2. Found this star rating to be much too high for this property. This was 2 stars at best. Room was clean, common areas were small and dated. They looked like they just painted a hotel from the 70's. The air bed in the room didn't work and I was too tired to move rooms. There were people up and down the hall at all hours of the night and it was a week night. Lots of partiers in the lobby and some of them were standing in the first floor hall having drinks making lots of noise. Back door was also broken to get into the property so I had to trek half-way around the building to get into the building. Reception was luke-warm and they also could not find the online check in I did at the Radisson site. It is convenient to O'Hare but still a few miles away and I was surprised how loud the planes were. It was a clean enough place and all I did was sleep there for one night before an early flight. SC
  3. January 3, 2006 (Wednesday) One night only Selected 4*Ohare area, bid $49, rejected. Dropped from 4* down to 3* category, bid $51 - accepted. Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $51.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $15.18 Total Charges*: $66.18 Funny thing though.... I bid three stars and can't find anyplace that actually rates this hotel at anything higher than 2.5*'s. I am just sleeping before a flight out from O'Hare so not a big deal, just not the hotel I expected. Maybe it has been upgraded recently. SC
  4. Thanks for the replies..... I see that it is just the supply and demand for priceline. Never had that happen before. I just assumed that you could use Priceline any place at any time but if there was high demand, you would only get an offer accepted for something equal to or very nearly equal to the regular offered price. Learn something new everyday. Is there any chance that the inventory/availability could change before a ski trip in February? I hate paying too much for a rental car. I also hate it when they say this type of car is standard for a company and then they give you something crappy that barely fits the definition of the original car. SC
  5. Thanks for the help.... It must have something to do with the location I am trying to pick up at. I am looking at something for Eagle/Vail (EGE) in Colorado. If I put in Denver, it allows for me to name my own price. Never had this happen before. Guess I will have to use what they offer or another link for car rental this trip.
  6. In the past, I have used priceline for some car rentals. Now I go to Priceline and hit the Car Rental tab, enter my dates in February and it just gives me prices like I get on Orbitz or Expedia. I can't find anyplace to name my own price in there any place. Am I doing something wrong? The prices on Priceline aren't any better than what is on the other sites. Can you still name your own price for car rentals on priceline or is it just like other travel sites? Thanks for the help. Cheap Skier
