  1. Rebid several times from $85 up to the winning bid. Many rebid zones here.
  2. Started bidding at $40. Went through two re-bids and won the hotel at $44. Very happy and of course used the PRICELINE link. Thanks for the information as always! :D
  3. Decided to use the HOTWIRE link and buy a 4* hotel in the Downtown zone for $68. Won the Intercontinental for 2 nights (6/29-6/30) with the following amenities. Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Free Internet Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower Thanks as always!
  4. I'd like to bid higher to stay in the FQ zone at this point.
  5. Just tried to bid from $55-$70 for 4* French Quarter using the 5 re-bid zones. Kind of surprised I didn't get a win based on some of the other wins for the same dates on the board.
  6. I am ok with increasing to $85 for a 4*. My preference would be French Quarter and then Downtown in that order. Thanks
  7. Check in on 6/29 for 2 nights. Budget is flexible but would like to keep it around $75 before taxes/fees. Thanks
  8. Hi, I am contemplating a trip to New Orleans this weekend and am looking for some guidance on bidding in the French Quarter and Downtown zones. 3.5* stars and up. Thanks very much as always for any help.
  9. Amenities: Smoke Free Rooms Complimentary Breakfast Fitness Center Pool(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities (self-service) High-Speed Internet Access Was able to determine this was the Hampton based on the amenities. Saved me $80 off the regular rate. Thanks!
  10. Thanks guys. I actually just booked using the HOTWIRE link. I was able to pinpoint the hotel I wanted using your info. I will post that win on the hotwire page.
  11. I did a search of past wins for Nashville-Downtown and bids seem to be all over the board. I'm looking to stay 1 night on 3/6 in a 3* or better property. Any good starting point for a bidding strategy? Thanks
  12. Ok, after quite a few bids, I successfully won 3 nights at the Holiday Inn Downtown (3*) for $120 a night. I want to add that there are actually a few more re-bid zones for 3* hotels. The Garden District only goes up to 2.5* and the New Orleans East zone only goes up to 2*. I used these zones in conjunction with the Downtown and French Quarter zones to work my way up from $90 to $120 before finally winning. I'm happy with the outcome given the in-demand dates and thank you guys for the help. Cheers!
  13. First bid (using the PRICELINE link of course) at $50 for 2.5 star hotel in Pineville-Piper Glen-Ballantyne. No luck. Was offered a one-time re-bid for $65 and rejected it. Re-bid using Fort Mills zone (no hotels above 2 stars) and $55 and won. Best price online was $101 for the same hotel. Great success. :)
  14. I first bid $40 just using 3.5* and the LAX zone. This was not accepted. I was offered a rebid at $52 and declined. I rebid using $42 and 3.5* again and added the Lawndale zone. This was accepted by the Crowne Plaza LAX. I have stayed at the Crowne Plaza before for an overnight connecting flight so this is exactly what I was hoping for. Thanks for the info. I used the PRICELINE link as always! :)
  15. I wanted to hopefully grab a hotel in either the White House-Downtown zone or in Dupont Circle. I started my bidding at $55 for a 3* hotel in the WHD zone and was rejected. I rebid using the Mt Vernon area as a rebid zone at $60 and was rejected. I rebid a 3rd time adding in the Dupont Circle zone and increasing my bid to $61. I successfully won the Topaz Hotel in the White House-Downtown zone for $61 a night. I'm happy with that. Oh, and I used the PRICELINE.com link above to book. Cheers! :)
  16. I tried unsuccessfully bidding from $210 to $250. With taxes and fees, the bids were $300-340. Since regular tickets have dropped to $400, I will probably just book directly with the airline. Thanks for your help.
  17. Thank you for the tips. I am going to bid using the PRICELINE link in the next few days and I will post the results.
  18. I've used Priceline for hotels before thanks to this site, but I've never tried to bid on airfare. My question is if I plan to start my bidding at 40% off the listed price, should I bid 40% off the price that includes taxes and fees or 40% off the price BEFORE taxes and fees? For example, the flight I am looking to bid on is from Memphis-Vancouver and is $360 before taxes and fees and $450 when they are added in. Thanks! :)
  19. Thanks for the information as always. I used the PRICELINE link! :)
  20. You are probably right. Thanks for the help.
