  1. Just wanted to close this thread and let you know that they ended up booking directly at the Crown Plaza. Thanks again for the input.
  2. A relative is looking to get 2 rooms in Niagara Falls, Ontario (4*) for 1 night (Sat Aug 6th), they have bid $80/$120/$160 all rejected. They are willing to pay up to $200 per room, but not sure why this particular night seems to be so expensive. I've personally never bid on 2 rooms before, is it better to bid on 1 room then wait for priceline to offer additional rooms at the same price? Any advice on bidding would be appreciated. Also, I have $50 in priceline bucks that expire July 31 - never used these before, how do they work? I will be sure to ask them to use the links on your site to start their bidding next time around. Thanks
  3. Link clicked...I didn't realize that searches helped you guys as well...will keep it in mind next time. :) We have actually decided on an altogether different location and booked the hotel directly. Thanks
  4. Hotwire has the following amenities listed - price is $85 for a one night stay February 19th. Wondering if anyone knows which hotel this may be. 3.5-star hotel in Downtown Toronto East This hotel features the following amenities: Smoke Free Rooms Guest rooms at this hotel are always smoke-free. Fitness Center Guests have access to exercise equipment; an additional charge may apply. Pool(s) Property offers at least one pool area; hours and dates of operation may be seasonal. Restaurant(s) Property offers at least one restaurant on the premises; hours and days of operation may vary. Business Center Guests have access to business equipment and services; an additional charge may apply. High-speed Internet Access Guestrooms are equipped with high-speed Internet access; an extra This is just a guess - I'm not 100% sure - but it sounds like the Delta Chelsea. Thanks for your help.
  5. Used your suggested strategy and got the Coconut Point Hyatt. :) $145...12/31/10 - 1/7/11 Thanks for your help.
  6. Given the time of year max bid would be around $180 (is that too high?) - it seems that this property has gone for as little as $85 outside of holiday periods.
  7. Need some assistance on how much to start bidding at. I couldn't find any recent wins in the forums that could help. Place: Resort Ft Myers-Naples (Bonita Springs) Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Dates: December 31, 2010 - January 7, 2011 Can you also please confirm that this is in fact the only 'resort' in the Bonita Springs zone? Would also appreciate a bidding strategy if bids are rejected - it looks like we could rebid using all other areas other than Marco Island which also has a 'resort' level property. Through the hotel, we can get the AAA rate of $269 for Dec. 31 & Jan. 1 and $215 for the remaining 5 days, including breakfast. Not sure how much better we can do using Priceline. Thanks.
  8. Just wanted to close this thread - didn't end up booking through PRICELINE as bids kept getting rejected (went up to $110). Ended up booking the Hilton using a corporate discount which amounted to $114 before taxes.
  9. Still interested in the 3.5* category with a max. bid of $100
  10. I've never used Priceline for a car rental - the overall pricing through regular sites seems to be in the $50 range. It would be nice to get something closer to $30/day. Is this a reasonable expectation? Is the pick-up only at QC airport? Thanks.
  11. My limit is $100. Is there a QC map available where I could see past wins and the hotel categories?
  12. Hi, We are looking for a room in Quebec City for July 10th and 11th. We are looking to book the Hilton which I believe is a 3.5*, however I haven't been able to locate the Priceline map for QC. Not sure how much to bid, having scanned the board I've seen some of the recent bids posted which seem to be in the $80/night range. I think the Delta is also a 3.5* which would also be fine, but I don't know if there are any others in the same category. 4* would also be fine...but is it only the Loews in this category? Bidding strategy: The hotels are in zone 2, as there are no 3.5* or 4* hotels in zones 1 & 3, I figure I can add the two rebid zones if my initial bid is rejected. If someone could help with setting up the bidding strategy (zones & pricing) I would appreciate it. I will be sure to use the PRICELINE link from this site. Thanks so much for any help.

  15. Ok so I've read the re-bidding page and I think this is how I should proceed...your confirmation would be appreciated... Cathedral Hill, South San Francisco and Civic Centre all have hotels only at the 3* range or below...so if I were to do the following as recommended: Select 4* SFO... Bid $41, if rejected add re-bid zone...i.e. add Cathedral Hill along with SFO checked off as well Bid $44, if rejected add re-bid zone...i.e. add South SF along with Cathedral Hill and SFO checked off and so on? Thanks again! Will definitely use the savingsbarn link to get to priceline.
  16. Thanks for the advice on this..I ended up seeing a post on tripadvisor about the travelzoo deal and since it was $99/night I called Omni directly and asked if they could extend the rate for our last night's stay...which they did - they were very professional and accommodating. :)
  17. Hi - I'm completely new to priceline bidding and would appreciate your help... We will be arriving in SF late Dec. 25th [around midnight] just want a place to put our heads down near the airport before heading into the city the 26th. Looking for a 4* near the airport for around $50...please help
  18. Complete newbie!!! We will be in San Diego Jan 2 - 5 and would like to stay in the Gaslamp district for the 3 nights. 4* property and would like to stay under $100. A couple specifics: 1. we will have a car and it appears that parking is not a sure thing [i.e. we may be faced with parking fees], not sure how to work around this as some posts have indicated that they had parking included. 2. Based on my research on the hotels rated 4* in the district I would like to try to get our room at the Omni. I've read on here that with priceline this is not easy to do - average accepted bids seem to be around the $90 mark for this hotel, not sure what the pricing is on hotwire. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance... This is a great site, you have all done an amazing job.
