  1. Doing a search for Saturday or Sunday, June 14 or 15, prices seem to be anywhere from $700 to upwards of $1000 for nonstops.

I don't have a set price limit, but 500 to 600 would be sounding pretty good to me now. Problem is I can't be stuck with large penalty/change fees, since I'm not sure of my return date...

What did you end up getting?

My gram is in Ft. Lauderdale as well and I'm sure I'll be in the same situtation as you someday soon.

  2. Got this for 45.00. Its about 10 miles from the Ft. Lauderdale Hollywood Int'l airport.

This is a fabulous property and well worthy of an increase in star rating( its a *2 according to Priceline). I'd give it a 2.5 or even a 3. I checked in early and was given my preference( King non-smoking). The rooms are fairly spacious w/ a micro and fridge included. There is a nice fitness center( treadmill, elliptical and a few pieces of weight equipment). The pool is nice and clean with plenty of newish looking reclining chairs. The complimentary breakfast is nice( the muffins/donuts were from Dunkin Donuts) with a selection of hot items as well as the normal cereal, fruit, etc. The staff keeps a pitcher of ice water going at all times. There is also lemonade and free cookies in the lobby.

Parking is free and there is a huge mall( Aventura) less than .5 a mile away. The hotel is almost kitty corner from a big Target and Whole Foods. Its right across the street from Gulfstream Park.

  3. Accepted first offer.

I had a midsize booked at the Enterprise location .5 mile from the airport for 184.50. My sister was going to pick me up and drop me there because they wont pick you up at the airport. The airport location of Enterprise had the rate at over 375.00.

I'm only saving 30$ but also I wont have to inconvience a family member.

Once again, used the PRICELINE link.

  4. I'm freaking over the moon happy that I got this hotel.

I bid $35.00 yesterday on a 2.5 star in the airport zone. It was denied. I know it was a long shot. I found a 2.5* on hotwire in Hollywood which I figured was the Ramada Inn. I almost chose that, but wasnt happy about the hotel or paying for parking. I decided to just wait the 24hrs and rebid. For some odd reason, I picked Hollywood and I got the Hampton( $45.00).

The rate on the Hampton website is $109.00

    Subtotal: $315.00

I did use the PRICELINE link.

  5. 3. Taste of Chicago takes place in Grant Park, which is closer to Priceline's Millennium Park/Loop/Grant Park area. However, due to the above and the fact that Chicago's quite walkable, I'd still recommend primarily looking for a hotel in the River North/North Michigan Ave. area of PRICELINE. The Loop area - especially the further South you go from the lake - can be very quiet at night.

She might be able to get the 4* Hyatt in Grant Park for $59.00.

  6. I've never used Priceline for a car rental, but I got a bonus offer of 2.50. I already booked a car with Enterprise a few months ago for 280.00. I saved myself $40.00

    $2.50 (per day)

Your Offer Price Per Day: $18.00 (per day)

Total Offer Price with Bonus: $20.50 (per day)

  7. We stayed here from Dec 18th-27th 2007. I "won" this on Hotwire and I believe I paid around 1250.00 which included a car. This hotel has free parking too.

The room was spacious. It contained a full size fridge, A/C, stove, microwave, sink, dishwasher, dishes, pots, pans and glasses. Coffee maker and iron/blowdryer in room too.

The room also had a queen size bed and a full size pull out sofa. The bed was the most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept in. The housekeeping service was very spotty. The first 4 days of the trip, I had to call the front desk at 5pm because no one cleaned our room.

The shower was great, lots of water pressure. There was also a fitness center and FREE guest laundry. Breakfast was free each morning( cereals, breads, eggs, bacon or sausage or ham depending on the day) fresh fruit, waffles, juices, soft drinks, milk, yogurt, Wolfgang Puck coffee service. It was a nice breakfast.

In addition to breakfast, T-Thu you get a sundowner reception from 5:30-7:30pm. One day it was soup and salad, another day it was a BBQ( hamburgers, hotdogs, potato salad, etc). Chips, pretzels and free softdrinks too. Oh and 2 free beers or wine. It seemed to be very popular.

There is a also a free business center and guest library. The pool was nice, heated and clean. There are also outdoor bbq's you can use. The location is good if you're familar with Plantation( I grew up there so I had no problem staying there). Very close to the Broward Mall and within a reasonable distance to the Sawgrass Mill's Mall. Hotel is about 2 miles from the I-595.

  8. Ok, I realized that I was bidding on 2.5 when the hotel I want is a 2. I went back and bid 35.00 for a 2* and of course I got the HOTEL I DONT WANT. Oh well, its just for one night.

This is for the Studio Plus, but they changed the name to Extended stay America.

Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $35.00

    Subtotal: $35.00

    Taxes & Service Fees: $10.34

    Total Charges*: $45.34

thereuare, can you please change the title and appropriate information.

    Thanks!!

  9. This was a great hotel. The location is fabulous. Close to the freeway and lots of really great shopping and restaurants. The room was large( as are all Embassy Suite rooms) and the bed was comfy. This hotel offers cooked to order breakfast ( included in price). Everything you could want was offered( omelets, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, breads, fruits, cereals, yogurts). They also offer a managers reception at night with free cocktails( beer, wine). The rooms come with a fridge and microwave as well. Parking is plentiful and free. It took me about 20 minutes to drive downtown(on a Saturday morning)

The ONLY negative I'd say was the fact that I was given a smoking room. In all my years of using Priceline, I've only had 2 smoking rooms. It really smelled bad too.

I'd totally stay here again. I paid 50dollars a night and my stay was July 20-22nd-07.
