My best guess would be the Intercontinental Hotel. Even though it hasn't previously been reported with non-smoking, it is a non-smoking hotel.

You might have to bid all the way up to $80 to $100, because I believe its difficult to get a 3* there. I tried, and got reservations elsewhere.

First one, my best guess is Rosen Shingle Creek. Possible downgrade.

Second one, my best guess is Rosen Plaza Hotel

Third one, I can likely confirm it is Springhill Suites, as I won that one recently.

Forth one, my best guess is Caribe Royale Resorts Suites and Villas, possible upgrade.

Are you looking at staying at one place per night or staying at one for the entire time?

HoJo as in Howard Johnson. I don't know if they're on PRICELINE. Hotel Donaldson would be nice, but I highly doubt would be on here. If they where their price would probably be pretty high.

So its the one in West Fargo? If that's the case, to bad its all sold out, otherwise you could of filed a Best Rate Guarentee thingy. Funny thing is that I'm going to Fargo, this weekend too:LOL:, but I'm going to be at the HoJo.

Also being in a downtown area, you would likely have to pay for parking. So if you just happen to see a place with "free Parking" it should be tops on your list for Hotwire. Also if something gets identified here onfor HOTWIRE, might want to check their site to see how much parking is. Best of luck.

South Beach one looks difficult to call (thereuare you might want to check the organization of the Miami section). Laundry, and the restaurant are the ones that throw it. My best guess would be Lily Leon Hotel, which may have been upgraded and/or switched ownership. Tell us if there is anything else.

Short of knowing someone who knows the interworkings of PRICELINE (even better than thereuare), there is no way to know which hotels are in rotation. It is though a little easier with HOTWIRE though, since they give you hints.

Boy they should know you by first name by the end of your stay. You should try to get a microwave and fridge during your stay. Try to get a room away from the light rail line.

What are the other icons that are shown and what dates are you traveling? Some icons pop up and pop off the listing sometimes as to some, they aren't major icons to consider. The tripadvisor report doesn't always show up to.

I find it as an indictator of the property being a Marriot brand. Though Starwood (sheraton) is totally smoke-free as well.

First I would look around to see what the average rate for a 2.5* or 3* in the area you are looking at on the board. Decide what the maximum you are willing to bid in that area. Look around Priceline's maps to see what area's are "free re-bid" areas (areas that have less stars than you are looking for) And start bidding. If the average going rate is $50, start at $40 and go up in increment of say $5 if your max is $65 (not including taxes and fees). People are always willing to help, so feel free to ask.

Its best not to overbid, because the hotel for the person that got it for $60, you might get the same one for $75, which can be foolish. You never know, because you can get a differant place for the same price. Lastly, chains aren't the only ones who participate, because its a lot of times up to the individual hotel. They want their occupancy rate as high as they can get it, because they would rather give you a $100 for $50, than have it go unused, which would be $0.

My best guess would be Homewood Suites I-Drive. If it had Smoke-Free or Tennis icons, I would of guessed the Residence Inn. But Homewood, is the best guess.

Week 1: Holiday Inn Main Gate East

Week 2: Hyatt Place Universal

Week 3: Hyatt Place Convention Center

Might I suggest one with suites or kitchette, if its in your price range. That way, you won't eat out as much and you can make your own food. Even if you just have to microwave it. You can then buy groceries at Wal-mart and save a boat load of money.

With Priceline, there is no certainty that the 4* you're bidding on will be that one. Hotels change all the time, so its possible there is another 4* in that area. It looks like you would have quite a few re-bid zones in that area Going rate seems to be $349/night, so personally I would suggest starting at $100 and upping it $10 per re-bid. Thereuare, would probably have a better suggestion, but that is just my guess for this Wednesday.

Do you think the economic downturn will mean better hotel rates and better priceline and Hotwire rates? We all remember when 9/11 happened, the hotel industry took a hit and Priceline and Hotwire really took off.

:) I hear ya. I'm surprised there isn't a true 3* in Eden Prairie. What can you do though, except relish in the savings.:)
