The rate for the Diplomat Country Club is great, but I think, the hotel is not directly on the beach and that is where we want to stay on our last night in florida. In the meantime I have booked the Trump Sonesta in Sunny Isles Beach. Thanks for your help. Bigthomase

I think I will go for the 4* in Hollywood Beach: Resort, Near Beach, Fitness, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business, Internet, Golf nearby. Price is $295 with retail $400. Do you think it is the Westin Diplomat? I will re-think the South Beach topic and maybe open another thread for another date ... Bigthomase

Well, we are flying from Las Vegas to PBI and arrive at midnight. The next day we will fly back to Germany at 8 pm from MIA. Therefore everything is a possible solution. Either to drive not far at night and having less time before the long flight or to drive some more at night and have one full day left in Miami. I think it will heavily depend on the offered hotels. Solution #4 could be the 4* resort offered by hotwire for that day in Hollywood Beach which is the Westin Diplomat I guess for about $290-300. Bigthomase

I finally booked the W for $156 instead of $339 a night. They allowed me to use their Government rate as I am member of the German Air Force. Quite happy with that!

Thanks for your help thereuare. Unfortunately I have searched for the wrong date. The night I am looking for is 09/23/07 - 09/24/07. For this night there is most likely the Westin / Sheraton available. As I have the Monaco for two nights, I would like a level higher for the last night in Seattle and am currently thinking about the Fairmont, Pan Pacific, W and Hotel 1000. According to a recent post about the W, it could be available on Hotwire for either the whole stay or just some of the nights. Tough decision to make ... Bigthomase

thereuare, you are totally right. I will re-invest the savings into the concierge level at Portland Marriott (if possible for hotwire-bookings), the Beverly Hills Hotel and the Ritz-Carlton Half Moon Bay. Hope the BHH and RC will appear on HOTWIRE next year! :-))
