  1. I believe you are right about the 4* being Tropicana - that would be my guess as it has been won a lot recently with Hotwire. My guess for the 3* would be Excalibur if it has a resort fee - seems to match the closest. Hope that helps.
  2. This may be an instance where Hotwire is your best bet... they have a 5* North for these dates @ 126 (I assume it is Trump) as well as a 4* South for $77 (probably Tropicana) and a 4* North for $110 (guessing Treasure Island?).
  3. I see the same hotel for the week of March 27-30 when I am going so if you decide to book it could you please post and let us know what it is? Thanks!
  4. 4* Marriott Victoria Inner Harbor; December 14-16 @ $85 per night accepted on first bid.
  5. That's easily doable on PRICELINE... I got the Westin Downtown in February for $85 and that's 4*... I have never had problems getting good deals in Calgary. Make sure to use the Betterbidding PRICELINE link!
  6. Bid 4* Seattle (Downtown-Pike Place) 08/15-08/16 - Bid of $76 rejected Bid 4* Seattle (Downtown-Pike Place) 08/15-08/16 - Bid of $78 rejected Bid 4* Seattle (Downtown-Pike Place) 08/15-08/16 - Bid of $80 accepted for Westin Seattle Thanks!
  7. I just saw this thread and thought I'd mention a couple things since I only live 5 minutes away.... although it's not close to Metrotown it is only 5 minutes from Lougheed Mall in Burnaby which is not as big but still fairly decent. There is nothing super close in walking distance but a 5 minute drive can get you to anything you are looking for (groceries, shopping... even IKEA!)... the one annoyance you might find is that it is across from Boone County Cabaret which is a big country bar... although it's only really busy on Saturday you might get some noise from that. Enjoy your stay!
  8. As someone who is from Vancouver.... I hope you don't mind if I comment but "downtown" Vancouver includes the "west side" of Vancouver... they are one in the same and at most you'll be a short walk from where you want to go. Cruises leave from Canada Place which is downtown so you can't really go wrong with anything down there (Westin, Hilton, Fairmont, etc) if that's where you will be. If you go outside of downtown then you're across a bridge into "West Vancouver" which is a different city altogether and definately not anywhere close to where you'd want to be. Not sure if this made sense... but if I was taking a cruise out of Vancouver I would just look for downtown!
  9. You were right about Extended Stay (which I am ok with) - This hotel is $89.99 for those dates on any other site so I can't complain!... here's the details: HOTWIRE TACOMA: March 17-18, 2007 Extended Stay America Tacoma South 2120 S. 48th St. Tacoma, Washington 98409 (253) 475-6565 1 room(s) @ $35.00 per night x 1 night(s) - $35.00 Taxes, recovery charges, and fees - $11.84 Hotel subtotal - $46.84 Hotel Amenities Laundry Facilities <amenity names only please... not descriptions> **NOTE: I tried Priceline and couldn't get anything even close to this... even at $50 Priceline denied me.
  10. Thanks for the feedback guys... I'm hoping to be in Tacoma because we're going to the Tacoma Dome that weekend for an event so I want to be close. I don't want to be driving all over the place and getting lost :)
  11. Ya that's why I'm wondering about this one coming up in the end... but almost all sites seem to have it below 2 stars... I'm only worried about the chance of it being Travelodge... any veteran experience to help guide me? :) Travel Lodge Tacoma: Priceline - 1* Hotels.com - 1.5* Travelocity - 1* Hotel-Guides.us - 1* Orbitz - 2* Tripadvisor - 2* Those are are the main ratings I have found... not sure what to make of it.
  12. Thanks for the reply... I'm a little hesitant to book because I'm worried the Travelodge or Econolodge will come up and from my research they are 1* places that should be avoided at all costs. Not worried about any of the others... how good is Hotwire at assessing these places on a star base? Should I be worried?
  13. Hi there, I'm trying to figure out what Hotwire would have listed as a 2* hotel in Tacoma for $35? It only lists laundry as an amenity. Any ideas? I have checked all over the place and all I can find for Tacoma is Sheraton (3* Priceline) and La Quinta (2.5* Hotwire) - is there any other info available for Tacoma hotels in relation to either service? Any help is greatly appreciated!
